Discovery.

Needless to say, Ijin created quite the scene with her impromptu machine; it wouldn’t be likely for those around her to comprehend what had happened and what she managed to create. The guards at the front of the center arrive late, but are able to witness what Ijin was capable of doing. They get testimony from those who had seen her, that she had managed to scrounge up a weapon of some type and wield it against whatever demonic threat, or really really really ugly terrorist, seemed to be breaching the walls. The guards would approach Ijin, since the thought of a civilian with a high powered weapon would be considered a ‘bad’ thing. Those in power did not always act rationally, but often feared the things they did not know about. Though she had accomplished something good, they would seek to secure the weapon, Ijin and her Chibi in order to detain them for now, wielding guns and what not with the police like command of ‘stand down and hand over the weapon.’ While the main portion of the security would be in the process of trying to secure Ijin and quell the panicked crowed, a communication type officer would be mentioning the incident over the COM lines to other units; this, much like all police transmissions, would be archived by the Division, though at the time, the Division would not warrant it much attention due to the attack on going with the city. If secured, Ijin and her Chibi, would be brought to a portion of the shelter that was void of both people and objects. The guards would seek her toolbox, but only temporarily, until the next day came, and along with it, new possibilities. Until then, if she complied, she would find herself in a dark storage room until the saga encasing the city was over and the next day arrived.

With the advent of the new morning and the conclusion to the devastating events of the previous night, the Division would have heard about the issue and advised the normal police that they would look over things. This would be accomplished easily enough in their monitoring of the police transmissions. Even though the notion of spirits was starting to become a reality, the whole terrorist thing hadn’t been through out of the window yet and no official word had been given about whether the charade of “terrorists” would continue in spite of the obvious truth. What had happened, however, was that the commissioner of the Division mandated his interest in protecting the city through its restoration while initiating the recruiting of gifted individuals for a new surge in technological progress. Because of this, a non military squadron was sent to speak with the person of interest, aka Ijin, as the city’s military forces would be clearing and securing the city. The Division would have advised the police that they would be taking the person in question for interrogation, but what seemed to be a medical van would arrive at the shelter location; out of it would come several men in gray jumper uniforms with matching caps and a blond female in glasses wearing a flowing white lab coat over a business skirt set. The long haired blond would lead the troupe of men into the shelter where the police on site would lead them to the area where Ijin was being kept. After dismissing them, the scientist type lady would have the men open the door. The darkness of the storage room would be illuminated with the woman standing in the middle of the doorway having the light of the other rooms as her backdrop. Holding up a device, laser like strands would shift up and down her form, like a scanner, before the lights would fade away. After reading the device, the lady looks up and greets, “good morning, Ms. Ijin. I am Angela, I’m sorry about your accommodations… can you please come with me? I need to speak with you.”

“My my,” Angela speaks with a pseudo concerned look bringing her hand softly to the side of her face, “it seems they’ve traumatized the poor dear. Can someone bring this tool box that you’ve confiscated?” Looking about inquiringly, her eyes comes to rest upon one of them men with her who walks into the storage room, carrying the toolbox, with much effort, towards Ijin and her companion. Angela’s attention shifts to Chibi for a moment as she makes a few visual observations before returning her attention to the more animated one who clung behind the other. “There,” she invites after the toolbox had been brought in, “is that a bit better for you?” During this time, she would be observing Ijin as well as Chibi, their movements and mannerisms. As a scientist, she was relatively acclimated to working with misunderstood individuals. Deciding to inquire upon an interest, she coaxes, “so you like building things?” It seemed like a simple enough question to get the ball rolling on things.

Judging by the actions of Chibi, Angela answered Ijin’s last statements, “creation of new life; so I see that’s what you’ve done here.” By that, she would be referring to Chibi. If it were to go wholly by the Division and their militaristic credence, there would be no room for such flowery ideals when it came to technological progress, but luckily there were others that understood those with raw talent held more artistic viewpoints rather than objectified ones. Since the earlier invitation to exit the storage room had been rejected; Angela decides to continue the conversation there, since, as a researcher, she held a great amount of patients and could afford to be more lax with her time. She didn’t view anything in particular that would keep master and creation in the storage room, but she did know that much like when dealing with those with autism, some people just needed to be comfortable before any change was introduced into their environment. She continues making conversation, “judging by your toolbox, it looks like you work wherever you happen to be…” Her hand places her previous scanner into the pocket of her lap coat as she pulls out a small communications device. Holding it out, she projects a holographic image of the city from a satellite-type view on the ground in the storage room; it scaled about a width of 5 feet and a height of 10. She continues using the view of the battered city as a reference, “something catastrophic happened to the city last night and we’re looking for people to help create the chance for new life… we want to see what you can do given the right tools to see if you can help us with this goal… Because of what they say you were able to do last night, I’m of the opinion that you’ve very gifted.”

“Yes yes,” Angela agrees with a smile as she assessed that Ijin seemed to be getting the picture and overall idea. With a click of the device, the holographic image of the city vanishes and she places the device back into the pocket of her lap coat. Looking back up, Ijin seemed to have things in order with her toolbox and companion. Taking a step back out of the storage room, she holds up a hand as if to offer Ijin and Chibi to exit the storage room as she continues moving onto a question, asking, “the Division is recruiting talented researchers; what do you know about Division 12 so far?”

Due to out of character sleep deprivation, it was not clarified that the step back and hand motion was in a showcasing manner as if to physically motion the direction for the departure of the storage room in contrast to an offertory gesture. That aside, Angela is able to get a somewhat of a grasp of what Ijin knew of the Division. She smiles, “you are well informed” as they near the exit of the evacuation facility. The males with her open the doors for her as she makes her way through first, continuing to lead the way to the van. The males would wait for Ijin and Chibi to go first before following up behind them. The doors to the van would be opened for them as well, as the males role though much of this seemed to be more of a security group for Angela, as she was a valuable resource, rather than figures that would actually give input to the situation. Angela continues, “that will help in the long run of things. If you’re as gifted as I think you may be, you should have an enjoyable experience with us.” A bit curious, she asks as she gets into the van, “you say you had one experience with the Division alread? Would you care to tell me about it?”

The others assemble into the van and the doors and closed on all sides. Though there were a few of them, there seemed to be plenty enough room for all. Angela’s attention is on Ijin as she gauges young lady’s evaluation of her situation from the time described. It was insightful enough that the young woman seemed to have a theory on the events that had happened. “I heard of this,” Angela comments as the van begins to roll away from the shelter area to make its way onto one of the city’s main roads. Continuing the conversation, Angela speaks, “one of our men reported being displaced by the events you describe. That’s nice that you have something in common.” Her finger comes up to press onto the center of her glasses, pushing them along her nose as she continues, “That man, Jyn Asei, is the current commissioner of the Division, and it’s on his initiative that we’re starting to recruit more people. I feel that it’s refreshing that our higher ups would look to the sciences to help us build up and protect the city rather than relying on human strength and brute force to keep the city from future damage like it sustained overnight, don’t you think so, Ms. Ijin?”

Angela confirms with a sigh and a smile, “it seems they do.” She leans back and looks ahead as the vehicle continues to move through the streets, making its way from that area of the city towards the Division HQ. After making it to the HQ, the van would come into the parking garage and the doors would be opened. The men would get out, hold open the doors for the ladies as well as be escorts to the security point. There Ijin would be scanned through and allowed access into the HQ’s back end, and the promenade would continue to the elevator. Once in the building, the male escorts would be dismissed and Angela would walk along with Ijin. The elevator they would enter would be glossy and metallic with glass panes on the sides and floor. They would be brought up to the fifth floor before the doors would open. Angela would lead the way through the Division hallways where they would change from office like to a more laboratory or hospital like feel after getting further into the research wing. The halls would turn from soft and warm colors to white with panel lights above and lab doors lining the hallways on both sides. Eventually Angela would make it to one of her labs and open the door by swiping her hand over a scan plate. The door would slide to the side with a shink like sound and reveal a laboratory settings set with instruments, workstations and tools everywhere. This would begin the aptitude testing phase for Ijin, which Angela has a good feeling that she would pass. It was a formality that she was creating for the new incoming researchers to see where they would fit in within the organization. Turning towards Ijin and Chibi, Angela smiles and motions towards the lab speaking, “welcome to the Division’s R&D department.”
