Meanwhile below, the said kami pedaled her bike over a ruined sidewalk on her way to the meadow where she usually parked for the night and slept. The locals with their struggling businesses were terribly picky about what they allowed on their lots, and she wasn't one to argue.
The fireflies might be out tonight, she reflected, looking up at the shrunken moon and letting the wind blow the light, blonde strands of her hair backwards.
Her mood was ruined somewhat when she detected something else on that moving air... the scent of someone familiar, someone who'd been in her prayers.
Nonetheless, he hadn't expressed a desire to see her again and she wouldn't go against his wishes. Her legs began to pedal imperceptibly faster.

The woman winced perceptibly, a resigned expression coming over her face as she slowed down, eventually stopping and putting one foot on the ground as she looked back at the approaching, familiar man. "Hello, wolf-sama..." she would say in her quiet monotone.

The woman nodded slowly. It was true, last time he'd departed in a less than civil manner, but as a human, he had an inner light, and he probably regretted what he did. In any case, it wasn't her job to hold anything mean he did against him or even accuse him of anything. Simply, her job was to help him find the light, and in order to do that, she would be civil with him at all times.
Idly, she recalled the lollipop Shou had bought her and began to dig it out of her bag, thinking she would be talking to the other a long time and she needed the sugar to help her get her energy back from all the walking she'd just done. "Yes, my name is Atilla. Maintaining this form takes a great deal of energy. It is especially hard to hold it all day," she said, her hand falling on the stick of the candy and pulling it out. It was a round, striped sort of deal, like some rainbow colored spiral version of the moon.

Slowly, the kami began to run her tongue up the round outer surface of the moon, letting the dye stain her tongue and giving a shameless smack at the end, her eyes closed in bliss for the moment before she resumed, sensuously sucking the top of the treat for a few more happy moments before carefully letting go, the smallest bit of saliva making the candy glint in the streetlight. "I forgive you, wolf-sama. I would be delighted to have you escort me." With one arm, she walked her bike, with the other, she continued sucking the huge lollipop sedately. "I am headed to the cardboard shanties near the deep. That is where I usually sleep at night. They do not like me parking in the city with my trailer," she explained, giving a short toss of her head towards the teardrop contraption being pulled along by her bike. "I do travel light. I haven't many worldly possessions."

The woman put the entire thing in her mouth, sucking gently as a blush came over her cheeks before allowing the hard, massive thing to slip out gently so she could talk again. "It has been going wonderful..." she said, affection and cheer in her voice. "The congregation has been growing. Soon I believe I will witness to someone with some better resources, and when that happens, I can reach more people. More lost souls to Bleaus's light. If you'll excuse me for asking, wolf-sama, are you employed?"
The question came more from a curiosity of this one's living conditions, and in that way it was an indirect question. She thrust the lollipop into its old spot over her tongue the second the question was out.

Atilla withdrew the candy once more, licking her lips and processing the lycan's answer. "You shun material possessions. That is a good thing. Nothing on this plane is permanent, it's better to develop yourself as a spirit..." she said thoughtfully. The lollipop's sides had melted considerably, becoming gooey and white. Cheerfully, she ran her tongue along the length of the treat, removing the white stuff with several deft movements of her tongue, cleaning it up in a way. "Mmm~<3" she said, the sudden sweetness almost making her forget her name. Once most of it was removed, she'd take the candy, her hand a fist around the stick of it, and begin pushing it over her tongue again, but this time she pulled it out shortly afterwards. Pushing and pulling, thrusting and withdrawing... she closed her eyes in ecstasy, hoping this lollipop would last, as it was her last one.

Her hand was sticky from the enthusiasm she was applying in the comsumption of the treat, and soon the entire thing had gone limp and white in her mouth. At this stage, she was able to hold it easily in her maw, still working her tongue across it at intervals.
"About 50 or so members every week.." she said quietly, her speech still impeded by the candy. "We meet on the street corner in front of the big club. Are you intending to go to a service, wolf-sama? I would be happyy to have you in attendance."

The only sound from her for the next few moments was audible suckling, a sigh something like a moan coming from her at the realization that she would soon be all out of lollipop. She tried to savor it just a little bit longer...
"No, I can not say that I have. I simply stand on the corner near it and preach. It would be a shame if something happened there. I would be happy to heal all of those injured. If it is a dangerous spot, wolf-sama, I may have to move. I do not want to risk the health and safety of my parish."
The suckling resumed, slowly, sensuously, sugar sliding down her throat, the candy growing smaller...

Atilla merely blinked at the comments, the sounds hardly interrupted by the sentence. It was as though she didn't comprehend what he was rather bluntly stating, which was the truth actually. She'd never engaged in any copulations herself, and she hadn't witnessed any since her memory wipe, having spent her days in something like a cross between a school and a monastery in isolation or the company of her mentors and teachers. She had some vague concept of the act, that is, Slot A and Tab B, that she wasn't supposed to do. Missing from the picture were thrusts past the initial ones and moaning. Oral sex was a concept that never crossed her mind, or any other sort of foreplay. This made resisting the activity that much easier, as her mental picture of it wasn't very exciting past the hugs and the kisses that Shou had introduced her to... well, with the exception of Shou. She had some vague yearning after his weight on top of her for reasons she still didn't fully understand.
Nonetheless, to the pure all things are pure, and she lacked any sort of shame as the lycan pointed out what she was innocently doing with her lollipop. "It is very good, wolf-sama," she began, as though asking a question. "My friend purchased two of these for me. I have eaten one. When I finish this one all of them will be gone. I will have to journey to the part of town they refer to as the East and find the store where I may buy some for myself, but I do like these human sweets a great deal. Do the kami you see not ordinarily eat sweets, or is it some sort of vice I am unaware of?"
She'd been briefed on a number of popular drugs and alcohol which had to be avoided, but she didn't even know what a lollipop was until she'd come to yochi.

The woman visibly winced at his description. It was obvious that such was the way things should be, logical even, but the passion that had wrapped its warm claws around her heart could not be triggered by the safe and familiar. "He is a demon,"she stated haltingly, as though each word had a distinct, bad taste.

The kami looked surprised in an almost happy way, but given how reserved she was with her face, it seemed much lesser than it was. A short smile drew up the corners of her mouth as she spoke. "That sounds exactly like him! You say he protected you from an attack by another misguided human?" She seemed proud. "I... well..." she looked down and off to the side. "He knows, once he almost..."
Her voice trailed off, as though recalling the death of someone close to her or some similarly massive source of grief.

The mouse shook her head. "We almost... did something... that would not have been right in the sight of Bleaus... but I have forgiven him. Bleaus has forgiven me, it is forgotten." She talked as though she were trying to remind herself as much as she was trying to tell the lycan. This topic grew sourer the more she talked about it, thus she changed the subject. "Do you have a... lover, wolf-sama?"

"It's fine," the kami stated, blinking at the description of what he'd described as his lover to some extent. It should not have surprised her so much, after all, it seemed everything here in the lower commons was rough. "Is she a devil?"
It was a possibility that this woman in question was, but if she wasn't, she would have an inner light. Perhaps if she worked on helping his girlfriend realize goodness it would be a little bit easier for him to embrace that same goodness himself. After all, there's nothing worse for dragging someone back into the darkness than one's unenlightened family, friends, and intimate partners.

The mouse sat and thought for a minute. It seemed a fairly common phenomenon for people to be cast out of heaven for misbehavior, but truth be told she wasn't in the commons of heaven. She was raised among the dusty tomes of the heavenly libraries. She'd come across records of people being kicked out and a number of tales and observations of their activities in hell. Some of them even crawled up out of hell and were terrorizing humans just like the oni. A shame... Azarael had a lot more work now than he used to... Azarael, who wrote the names of humans when they were born and erased the names when they died. Not that it was a problem for him... he was what some humans might describe as a "cosmic horror", but what they in heaven knew as one of the mysterious "watchers" who created and judged the world.
"Spirits are hard to understand," Atilla said simply, not out of condescension, but a belief she'd internalized.
