Side Project

Orders would have been sent out for Ijin to come to Angela’s one of primary R&D lab within the confines of the Division 12 HQ. With the orders issued out, I would find myself standing with Angela in one of the smaller rooms outside the much larger Realm observational rooms. This would be my first time in this particular room, though in my experience with Angela, all these rooms were starting to look the same to me. As I was told, this room in particular was for research and development that was Realm based as opposed to operational or experimental rooms where I could only guess they cut up spirits as if they were aliens from Section 12. I glance down at my watch as I wait for Ijin’s arrival with Angela speaking to me candidly about various things she needed in the R&D department as well as other various tidbits about her projects, success rates, and setbacks. She didn’t often use the term failure since she thought such a word was beneath her and shouldn’t be used when speaking about things that are experimental by nature.

Step's can be heard along with voices that echoed into the room. "Chibi, do we really need to be there?" Chibi responded blankly. "Yes" "Uggghhh" responded the other voice in an irritated fashion. Chibi then retorted. "Mother you have been working non stop and falling asleep as your desk like usual, this is a good break for you." There was a sudden clanging noise. "No I have not!" Chibi then retorted. "No need to hit me with the wrench." soon a nervous laughter came out. "Sorry..." upon arrival to the scene Ijin was being carried by Chibi over her shoulder. The girl merely sighed and lowered her head. Chibi just walked with a calm gaze upon her face as she carried Ijin over her shoulder. "I do apologize for being late." Ijin held onto a large wrench in one hand and a hollowed out arm in her other hand as she was put down. A yawn came from her as she would turn around and look toward's Angela and Jyn. Ijin also over her normal cloths, had on a white lab coat with the representing ID tag clipped to it's chest pocket.

There were bags under her eyes showing signs of lack of sleep, aside from her not seeing shy at the moment, she looked irritable also. Chibi glanced over at Ijin a moment and then back toward's Jyn. Ijin spoke not a word though as she lifted the wrench up over her shoulder and just stared.

Side Project

I feel the approach of Ijin as she and her creation make their way into the lab. Turning towards the door as they enter, I would greet them both with a nod and accept the explanation given by the least human of the two. I assure, “that’s fine, you’re not really that late.” Angela turns around to see the two have arrived and makes her way over by me and she stands to my side. I notice the pieces with Ijin as well as the haggardly appearance; this all suggests a type of testament to her hard work. I was glad that she was giving it her all. My gaze shifts back to Chibi as I speak, “I called you here in order to discuss a new direction in which I would like your development to continue. Before getting too far into that, how have things been going so far with your research?”

Chibi would look to Jyn as she had noticed that he gazed toward's her instead, Chibi then shifted her glance toward's Ijin who had tilted her head and narrowed her eyes upon Jyn who she was able to tell was looking toward's Chibi. Waving the wrench in front of Chibi so as to gather the attention of Jyn. "We have made quite a substantial development. Still attempting to search for the specific wavelength that spiritual energy run's on so that I can create a counter wave so as to nullify upon it and creating that alloy is getting there. Still running into a few problems here and there, I come up with designs, plans, formulas and creates a few prototypes here and there, but I still seem to miss something quite vital, though aside some of the subjects you have capture prove a bit useless dead and the ones alive are difficult to tame to get them to do what I want, but it's going at a good pace." Using the wrench she brought it upon her own head and scratched her head with it as she lifted the arm. "This is just a bit of the arm that I created from scratch metals I found here and there, merely to get an idea upon the actual battle suit I'm coming up with. Over all I have a few blueprints of three things, about four blueprints to the alloy, seven to the battle suit, and about two towards the upgrades I wanted to suggest about the nano machines that are installed into the buildings to self repair. Though my main focus has been the alloy and the suit that you told me to create. May have to go out and capture more spiritual entities. That wavelength is vital to finishing my formula and quite the key component toward's the alloy." This was Ijin speaking, but her tone was different then before, it wasn't shy not timid, but it was firm and aggravated, but it still held a respect to it, but it clearly told she wasn't in any mood to hear about shit.

Side Project

As the wench waves the wrench, my attention shifts to who would be the speaker. Internally I wondered if Ijin was getting over her people shyness; if they went back and forth, I would have no clue which one to speak to in the future since in the past most of my communication had been through the stiff one. Thinking on her words, I wondered if we would be able to get some ‘volunteers’ for her to study from our demonic informants within the city. There were demons posed as humans everywhere; they might allow us to study them if we threatened their way of life. To me, they weren’t supposed to be among us in the first place. Still, her statement about it being hard to work with living and dead creatures lead into what I wanted to talk about as I may be able to kill two birds with one stone. Without showing signs of noticing her mood, I speak, “that’s good to hear. So, the reason I called you here may assist with one of the issues you’re having. With this direction, I want to mitigate experimenting issues and increase the efficiency of you being able to develop.” I had no reason to explain why I wanted this done, but it went hand in hand with what I wanted done, so I continue, “Resources cost money and once used have to be disposed of and so on. The same is true, in its own way, for test subjects. I want you to adjust your development to work through Realm first. You’ll have everything you need, as it mimics reality and allows for infinite resources and does not pose immediate threats to human test subjects when we get to that stage. The information we have on demons and their abilities have been Angela’s main focus all these years. What you create will duplicate reality in realm first and once that is done, all that will be left is a reduced amount of real world testing before manufacturing.”

Arching a brow as she heard what Jyn wanted to do and how he didn't want to spend so much money upon the research part but quickly get to the developmental part. A rush job is usually when thing's began to get aggravated with the one's working upon it. Though he wanted her to use the realm, which caused her brow to rise even further as her head tilted back a little and then tilted off to the right. "Using a virtual reality system, I guess it could be possibly to acquire a bit of data from data that's already been collected, though what I'm searching for isn't data that's already collected, but something that has yet to be found. No need to insult but I can only get so far when working with a reality realm no matter how real it gets, it'll only give demo data." A sigh escaped from her lips as she cracked her neck. "Though if that's what you want, then I'll work with what you guys have in the realm. I will still need spiritual entities in order to find that missing wavelength." She twirled the wrench in her hand as she brought it in front of her. She let out a yawn to which she covered her mouth. Chibi glanced between the people that was there. "There still that thing that, that one spiritual being stated before he was terminated."

Ijin blinked and glanced back and tilted her head. "Huh? Which... oh right... that one." She sighed as crossed her arms. "Apparently there are immortal demons that tend to come back after they have been terminated. Their bodies regenerate and all, it's quite fascinating really. What were some of the ones that, that one called?" Chibi answered. "Vaspires..." Ijin nodded her head. "Yeah... those, did you have any captures, which prove rather fun to have a self repairing test subject to test on." She wasn't sure if they knew of the vaspire's unique ability to come back after they have been 'killed' or even knew if there was in existence essentially immortal beings.

Side Project

I have my answer as, in my mind, all I really needed to hear was that she was going to do it; that would be the thing that allowed her to keep the job. With my personality, there was no use for people who wouldn’t work within the parameters I needed them to; it was good that they were agreed to with minimal resistance. I allow the informality to bypass me, since it was evident from the first glance at her, that she was under stress, and probably sleep deprived. There was no telling the state her mind was in at the moment or whether her senses were with her or not. To her statements and query, I nod and confirm, “work it out with Angela, if it’s something you need that she says we don’t have, I’ll see about getting some recruits to pick it up. Vaspires are pretty common.” I didn’t know the detail, nor did I need to, about Angela’s research. I knew she had enough to get the job done, and the military in me knew that would be sufficient. Turning my attention to Angela, she corrects, “Vaspire abilities are old data, we’ve known about their recuperative abilities for some time now. Maybe, perhaps she did not look deep enough into our databases.” She adjusts her glasses and comments, “but I will guide her and make sure to let you know if this intern doesn’t have everything she needs.” With a nod, I accept this, an answer I would expect from someone in her position. I conclude, “keep me posted on the other interns as well. I’m surprised they seem to be doing well comparatively. Things seem to be going well with all projects.” I look back to the intern. I had my briefing with her, and I only really came so that I could personally check on her. Now that my social duties had been fulfilled, I could move on to other things and allow Angela to take over. Generically, I comment, “keep up the good work” leading into me excusing myself if there were no further issues for me.

Apparently there were files she must have missed. Well it wasn't much of a surprise to to the lack of sleep she's been having, maybe she should get some sleep in order to work her mind properly instead of working herself into the ground. She glanced towards Angela as she mentioned that it was probably deep into the files that she might have overlooked it. That was possible too, plus she only had a level one access card. She didn't have much else to say as she was turning the screw within the wrench that allowed for the mouth of the wrench to open and close as she waited and she lifted her head and looked to Jyn as he was already dismissing himself as she yawned and nodded. "I'll do better than good." She stated as the final turn of that screwed piece tightened the wrench mouth closed. Her eyes then shifted toward's Angela.

With no further issues, I proceed along my way. The door closes behind me and Angela stands with her arms folded giving a crossed look to Ijin before signing, “really, you could at least show a bit of formality around your boss. About your research; I’ll need you to give me a report of the things you need and I’ll have an environment set up for you. After you’ve been around for a while, we’ll work on getting you more access, but you’re still new, so this is only part of the process.” With a bit of concern, Angela offers, “you should work on pacing yourself. We want results, but we also don’t need you burning out. I would suggest getting the appropriate amount of sleep, or else I’m going to have to make it a mandatory. You mind needs time to rest; but you’re smart enough to know this.”

Ijin's mouth had opened, but Chibi had intervened and covered her mouth. "Don't let your lack of sleep ruin things mother." Spoke chibi, she was able to tell how Ijin was going to act through her bio scan of Ijin, scanning the rise of energy within her body that gave signs to anger. With that instant Ijin hit Chibi upon the head with the wrench again, but Chibi didn't flinch nor move, rather she didn't really feel it in the first place. Chibi looked toward's Angela. "She's alway's been like this, I must apologize." Her eyes dropped down in a hint of sadness, a android showing emotion pretty well, "Please do forgive her, she just locks herself in her own world once she starts to work on something and hates leaving it." Ijin kept glaring at Chibi as she was tapping the wrench against her own leg just waiting. Chibi looked toward's Ijin and released her as Ijin had sighed and crossed her arms. "Very well Chibi." she stated looking at her android replica. Rolling her head a bit so to stretch it. "The research has been going quite well. Though I still need a variety of spiritual entities, and I really do need live one's to catch that wavelength. Anatomical structures of vaspires, succubus's, incubus's, orges, trolls, imps, yokai's, onikonjous, woylf. I hope I haven't missed any researching upon the different species can guide me toward's what I'm looking for." She was sure they have all those kinds of files, just that she probably just missed over some files once she entered into her lack of sleep mode.

Angela accepts the apology from the android and seems to lighten up as she speaks, “well, I know how that can be, just be sure not to push yourself too hard.” With the list that comes in, Angela nods and confirms, “just put together everything you need in a report and send it to me so that I can put it through the right channels. I won’t hold you longer than I need to. The commissioner said what he needed to say to you, so I’ll let you return to your work, but please do try to get some rest.” Looking to Chibi, she comments, “since you know what is needed, it may be easier for you to compile the report so your mother can rest.” With that ironed out, Angela was ready to allow Ijin to return to whatever it was that she needed to go or do. She concludes, “that should be all? Is there anything else you need from or to inform me?”

Chibi looked to Ijin and Ijin glances at her and just nods. "Affirmative." responds Chibi to what Angela had told of her to do. Chibi still only listened to Ijin and no one else. It was in her priority file to always follow Ijin's commands and no one else's. Ijin glanced back to Angela who stated that they were free to go if there was nothing else to inform of her. Ijin thought for a moment. "Currently, I can't think of anything that may be needed to be told to you, but I'll be sure to let you know if anything does come up as soon as it does." Ijin was willing to go and get rest, Chibi would be able to handle creating the report for her and they would be ready to turn into Angela as soon as Chibi finishes it.
