Training in the Woods(closed) Adrian10

The masked swordsman stood in a circle of demons, Goranova in his hand. His eyes narrowed behind the mask as an ogre stepped forward, it's iron tetsubo resting on it's shoulder. Adrian just stood there, glaring at the creature before him. The sleeves of his black robes flailed lightly as the wind blew against him. He waited for the demon to move, not sure if he wanted to even engage the ogre in front of him. The creature only had one hand, since Adrian had taken it in a previous encounter. It reminded the swordsman of Peter Pan. Every time he met this beast he took part of the ogre with every fight.

"You just never learn do you buddy?" the swordsman asked.

"I do not accept you as the Goddess' chosen. You will fall here and now boy." the ogre responded.

"You really want to push your luck don't you? Fine. But I wont be sparing you this time, big brother or not." he said, frowning.

The ogre didn't say another word, instead, bringing the heavy iron war club down toward the swordsman. Adrian brought the sword of light up as the Devil's Teardrop appeared. He fell to one knee as the two blades crossed, catching the war club at the apex of their cross. It spread the impact among the blades, his knees helping to absorb it. The swordsman laughed as the demon raised the weapon again to bring it down.

But Adrian didn't give him a chance. Leaping forward with all his might he thrust forward, drawing Goranova back. As it came around he cut into the Ogre's side, grinning as he reversed the direction of the blade, his body turning with it. He cut into the Ogre a third time, before he passed the creature. Coming to a stop he grinned, the blade having cut much faster than it normally could have. He had struck the demon three times in the amount of time it would normally take a swordsman to strike once.

As the Ogre fell in two, Adrian swung the Sword of Light out at his side, the demon's blood flying off the blade. He ignored the murmers and the cries as the small imps and weaker demons fled. Adrian turned, spotting the dead ogre's big brother, a smirk crossing the demon's face. Adrian wasn't so happy about it, his eyes narrowing before he switched stances. He breathed slowly as he waited. The massive Ogre drew a no-dachi, the huge sword more like a normal katana in the hands of the demon. Adrian knew full well that the horse cutting sword was designed to cut through horse and rider. So Adrian was going to be screwed if he wasn't careful.

"You killed my brother. Then I now have the right to take your own life." the Ogre said.

"You're welcome to try. But I wont be going down very easy, pal. I'm much stronger than you have taken me for. So back off unless you want me to shove my sword so far up your ass that the next time you eat anything you'll have to work it past my blade." he said, grinning.

"I have to admit for a human you are quite brazen, aren't you?" the ogre asked, watching the human. "An insult and threat like that is unusual of humans. But quite common among individuals that are afraid."

"What is this? A psychology lesson? You think that my fear is going to paralyze me? If anything It will only spur my blade! Now let's see if you can beat the elements within this mere mortal." the swordsman said, grinning as he raised the weapons in a neutral stance.

He stood there, watching the massive ogre, waiting patiently. The two warriors studdied one another. The holes in Adrian's stance were obvious to the trained eye. But then again any good swordsman was capable of creating false openings. But any swordsman that was as skilled as these two knew that, and were more than capable of spotting fake defenses. This was why Adrian fought with a sword rather than a gun. Guns could be fired by anyone in a fight and the one using them could probably walk away. But a sword was more personal. Only the skilled survived on the battlefield. The feel of pulling a trigger could never compare to the feel of a sword biting into flesh, and cleaving bone.

But then again it didn't matter since the two of them were about to beat the living shit out of one another. It would end with one of them dead and the other alive. He breathed slowly, his eyes narrowing as he stood there, grinning. As with his spars with Satsu, the swordsman's vision began to tunnel, focusing on the ogre in front of him before he willed it away. When fighting a demon you could never focus on just one. There were always more around to get involved in the fight.

"You're not stupid are you boy?" came the voice of Adrian's blacksmith master.

The ogre didn't blink. Neither did Adrian. The two of them were expert swordsmen. Even the slightest display of weakness and the other would pick up on it. But still they focused, each watching the other for that sign. A labored breath, a bead of sweat, or even the bat of an eye. Anything could give it away. This was how most iaijutsu duels went but so too did many fights between masters. It was said that swordsmen of ancient times could tell how each other fought just by watching one another walk. Gunslingers of the old west could size an opponent up by watching how he played cards. Studying the opponent was an essential part of any major duel of any kind.

"You're not bad boy." the Ogre said, grinning as it watched the masked human.

But Adrian didn't say another word. He couldn't. Taking a breath to say what he desired would cost him the duel. He had to keep his breathing steady and slow to insure that this demon couldn't stop him. He waited, grinning when he saw it. The slight pause in the demon's breathing, just before the movement!

Training in the Woods(closed) Adrian10

The ogre kicked dirt up as he dug into the ground, pushing himself forward. The horse cutting sword in the ogre's hands came out in a quick arc toward the smaller swordsman. The human, however, was someone that nobody had yet killed, after he'd come to the forest, and many had made up their mind. They were ready to kill him, and be done with it. No more training the boy for the Goddess' use. But they also knew they would have to turn on her as well. By going all out against Adrian they were likely signing their own death certificates.

The agile swordsman waited, leaping quickly. Coming down he lept once more, kicking off the flat of the no-dachi's blade. He lept forward, Goranova's crystal blue blade flashing out in a blue-white arc toward the ogre's head. This one, however, was smarter and stronger than his brother had been. In the beginning they had nearly beaten Adrian within an inch of his life, but the human had grown much stronger since. It had all been for a greater good.

"YOU DON'T DESERVE THE POWER YOU SEEK!" the ogre shouted as it staggered back, covering it's left eye.

The dark clad swordsman's blade dripped with blood, having cut through the ogre's eye. Smirking he stood there, raising Goranova up, the Devil's Teardrop drawn back in a defensive posture. He only needed one blade to win here, but with both gifts from his grandmother, the swordsman was unstoppable, or so it seemed.

"You just don't understand... You can't beat me at this point. I AM Fu Leng. I AM THE KING OF HELL! You and your kind serve me, and those I have appointed as my lieutenants! You claim you are all the superior breed, and yet here you are, being picked apart by a mere human boy!" the masked male said, grinning darkly.

"You bastard! You would betray the Goddess?!" the ogre demanded.

"Goddess? Don't make me laugh. Her beauty is great, as is her power and knowledge. But soon enough my powers will be above her own! And even then I am her sword, as I have promised her my aid. After that, we will see how it goes. Tiamat himself was resurrected before my eyes. And when I have obtained my full strength once more not even Death will be capable of putting an end to my reign!"

"You don't get it do you? Her minions will never obey you! They would sooner die of their own hands before serving a false king such as you!" the ogre responded.

"You just don't know when to shut up do you? Aguaiem maha maveil!" the swordsman chanted.

The flow of mana shot through the swordsman and into the air, before it began to manifest itself in a shield in front of the swordsman. He grinned shooting forward, his blades drawing back before he threw himself into the air. As he came down he brought both Goranova and the Devil's teadrop down, cutting through the No-dachi's blade as it came up to top his decent. The ogre fell over, a smirk crossing Adrian's face as he took the ogre's arm off.

"Your arm and eye belong to me now. If you ever get in my way again I'll take the rest of your pathetic body and soul to Hell. Even my brothers and sisters can't stop me now, so what hope did you have?"
