Adrian stood patiently beside his master, his eyes closed as he waited. He knew what was happening around him. At his master's smithy he wasn't as safe as he was at his home. In the presence of his master he was safe in some ways. But if something happened Adrian was expected to take the fight himself. And he was more than capable of doing just that. He could fight for himself, though he chose to fight for his goddess. He stood there, his arms folded over his chest as he breathed slowly. His face was covered with a mask, his body hidden under the black Yakuta. The blood red sash tied around his waist kept his robes closed, and held Goranova in place on one hip, the Devil's teardrop on the other.

He didn't look up until he felt something tap his shoulder. Looking at the imp beside him Adrian leaned down as it whispered something into his ear. He frowned and nodded before folding his arms over his chest. The demons watching him and in the area had found a human female. An older woman, and someone Adrian once respected. She had walked into their midst with no fear, and nothing more than a request to see the man that called himself Fu Leng.

Akiko Suzuhara, the Paranormal Studies teacher at Sai-U. Someone Adrian once considered a friend. And there she stood, her body clad in white and gold robes. She carried a katana at her hip, her dark hair flowing down her back as she walked into the center of the clearing. The demons moved toward her, but she spun, her katana flashing out, cutting through them. The wide blue arc that trailed the blade left it obvious. A blessed blade. Akiko had come ready to fight demons.

"Fu Leng. Come forth and face me." she demanded.

"And just who are you, woman?" Adrian asked, his voice deeper and darker than it usually was.

"I'm here to take your life. You slew my student, and I'm here to take your life in exchange." the woman said.

Adrian stood there, looking puzzled. He hadn't killed anyone in the city since he'd left. It had been a while since he'd slain a human but try as he might none came to mind. Turning to his master he tilted his head. The old man smiled and laughed before he shrugged.
"Perhaps she means the boy that was sent into your home with Goranova." he suggested.

"Oh! Was he your student? I see. So, kami, will you fight for your fallen student? Then come and die." he said, drawing Goranova.

Akiko's eyes scanned the two swords at Adrian's hips, her eyes narrowing. She had no way to sense spiritual presence, though this man gave off the impression that he could use these weapons better than anyone else she'd seen in a long time. Adrian had the gift but his potential had been much smaller than this man's. It was strange to see Adrian's sword at the hip of a monster.

"You will suffer for his life. How did you know I was a Kami?" she asked.

"When I devour the heart of someone, I take their very soul into my being. I took your student's heart and his soul. And with it all of his memories of you. Shall we begin?" the masked male asked.

She shot forward, her hand bringing her blade around in a swift slash, aimed toward the man's head. Her eyes narrowed when the crystal blade came up, blocking the deadly blow. His eyes narrowed behind the mask. Those same eyes she'd seen in her office time and again. But she didn't see them as his now. He wasn't her student, he was Fu Leng the man that had claimed Adrian's life, and taken the life of Juraviel one of her dearest friends. Until he'd left the safety of the demon hunters he had never been truely out of her reach. She had asked them to keep an eye on them. She had even been a dear friend of his grandmother's. But now he was nothing more than a fallen beast, corrupted by the taint of Jigoku. He was no longer worthy to carry the sword of light.

His counter was just as swift as her first strike, his body turning in a full circle as he moved toward her. He stepped forward with the spin, his blade coming down as if to cleave through her skull, before it stopped and turned the other way. His blade came around in the reverse direction. Akiko shuffled back quickly, her own blade coming around to block Adrian's blade once again, her body moving with the speed that many people lacked. Though Adrian was quick he wasn't as fast as Akiko, and he found himself at a disadvantage. Then again Adrian had an ace in the hole, in case something, like this, happened.

The two of them continued their dance as they moved, back and forth. Their blades clashed violently as they went. Adrian wasn't about to let up on the assault, though he did have to dodge one or two of her attacks. He grunted as her blade drove deep into his gut, coming out his back. His eyes went wide as he took the blade up to the hilt.

Akiko grinned darkly as she stood there, her hand reaching for his mask. Her hands gripped the left horn and slid the mask up off of Adrian's face. Her eyes went wide as she stared at him. Part of her had known but she didn't want to believe it. She stared at him as he glared at her. He willed the Devil's teardrop into his hand and she gasped as she felt the blade sink into her chest, piercing her heart. Her wide eyes filled with tears as blood spilled from the corner of her mouth.

"You should never have come here Akiko. Perhaps you should have been more concerned with living your life than to get revenge for me." he said, before he raised his hand.

The Devil's teardop came to his hand before he brought it down across her neck, cleaving her head from her shoulders.

Swinging the Devil's teardrop in a wide, sweeping motion, Adrian cast Akiko's blood from his blade. Part of him ached deep down. He felt himself want to cry, want to weep for his dear friend and instructor. She had taught him much but with her gone the school was less protected now. A teacher, a kami no less, had fallen, and she had fallen to the blade of a mortal man. They were all open game now. And Satsu would be the only one he would have trouble with. He would have to venture into the city, sooner or later. He was ging to have to wipe out his enemies, and erase his exestance in all it's forms. He had to vanish, at least for now. But with time he'd be back soon enough to show them the way to free themselves of the lives they were destined to live.

The city officials, and other such people in charge were hiding the real world from their people. But they deserved to know the truth. Adrian stood there over the fallen body of his former mentor. Sheathing the Devil's Teardrop at his hip he knelt beside her before lifting her headless corpse into his arms. Turning he walked away, ignoring the demons as he carried the body away. Akiko had been one of the few people to actually care about him, unconditionally. He could count on one hand those people, and he doubted very much that anyone else would come along. And as one of those people important to him, she deserved a burial at the very least.

He insured she was given the burial she deserved before he set about building a grave marker. He set it into place before he sighed, lightly. He muttered a soft prayer before he walked away, heading back toward his home. She was gone and there was no use for the dead in this world. Adrian had many things to do before he would be able to go back to the city, and he wasn't going to let it pass him.
