Kiss From A Rose

The kami lay in her trailer once more, breathing heavily. The door swung open on it's hinges when she'd arrived some time ago, creaking, moved by the wind. It couldn't be more obvious what had happened. She'd been sleepwalking under the influence of her darker side, these memories from her life as King Rat.
Now she was safe, but she was afraid to go back to sleep. The darkest hours before day were passing, and if her eyelids fell again, he might take over, and there was no telling what he would do this time.
With a shudder, she drew her sheets around her body and turned to singing hymns to help sooth her mind. One in particular came from the Psalm of Repentance, as it was known in Koutaku-shi, and seemed appropriate to the moment.
"Create in me a clean heart..." she began, her voice quivering in the darkness. "...and purify me. Purify me. Create in me a cleeeeean heart, so I may worship thee. Cast me noooot away from thy presence. Please don't take your spirit from me, and restore the joy of Sal-Va-Tiooon, so that I may worship thee."*
Her voice felt somehow empty. Ordinarily the song was so rich as it came from her lungs and the abundant gratefulness in her heart, her gratefulness for having been given a second chance and a clean slate instead of the damnation so many others faced. Somehow echoing around her trailer, it sounded almost blasphemous, a jeer. Her god had abandoned her and turned her over to a reprobate mind for no reason at all.
Gritting her teeth, she recognized the influence of the devil in her and grew angry, a rare emotion in her triggered mainly by affronts to Bleaus. "Devil, you are a liar..." she said to herself, realizing after some moments that she was talking to herself. This only compounded her quiet fury, her rebellion against the darkness and her desire to serve goodness all the more. "Lord... you're holy... and we lift you up and magnify your name..." she said, her voice haunting and quiet, among the ghostly in the shadows of her bed, empty like the last song.
She wouldn't give up, but with a profound fury, she threw open the door to her trailer and stood out in the darkness of the night, declaring to the stars. "WONDERFUL, GLORIOUS, HOoooLY AND RIGHTEOUS! VICTORIOUS, CONQUERER, TRIuuumPHANT AND MIGHTY! HEeeeALER, DELIVERER, SHIELD and DEFENSE! STrOOOOONG TOWER and MY BEST FRIEND!"
The song wouldn't stop at those lines, but she could sense the resonance of sound cracking about the block. It seemed her song had soul and emotion in it once more, triggered by her faith if nothing else.

After completing the entire song at a yelling volume that gradually faded away to the same haunting wisp of a sound it'd started as, she felt reassured enough of her place in Bleaus's plan to go back to bed. Singing praises always helped her. "Thank you," she said to the sky, turning and closing the door to her little trailer and settling back down into her sheets, taking off her robes, folding them neatly, and placing them beside her bedside. It seemed she fell asleep immediately, and the door to the small enclosure fell back open, unsecured.
The kami merely rolled over pulling her sheets up to her chest. "Mmm... lollipop... I do not mind if I do..."

The kami continued to snooze on gently, obliviously, her dreams pleasant and quiet now that she'd confronted her fears. Due to the camped nature of the tent-like enclosure, her hand happened to fall on the robe by her bedside. The tail blade she'd bought the previous day lay a safe distance away in her satchel, but as she pulled her robe over her body, mistaking it for her comforter, the ring tumbled out and fell into her bosom, the cold steel arousing her from her slumber partially. With a drowsy hand, she reached to withdraw the icy metal from her chest, rolling over with her eyes closed.
Quite by accident, she set the thing off, and a huge fireball went off and blew out of the door with a roar, igniting a couple of cardboard boxes across from her bike-and-trailer setup.
The item removed, she continued to snooze. "Fire?" she mumbled, unaware.

The light mumbling reached the mouse's sensitive ears, but it wasn't sufficient to rouse her from her sleep. "Mmm... Takashou-sama... I parked my apple in... passing..." she grumbled between breaths, the warmth causing her to lower the sheets a little. She lacked nightclothes, but she was wearing some very conservative undergarments. "...an evil rat."
She seemed as if she were considering taking a little sleepwalk out of the trailer, but for now she simply lay there, unmoving, her fingers twitching and hanging out over the edge of the mat she lay on. "I like your eyes."

The mouse's happy dreams came to a close with the voice of someone familiar fading in. She swatted at her face briefly where the finger had been before realizing it was terribly warm in her bed and she was supposed to be there alone.
Her eyes came open at once and she gave a small start at the sight of the male above her. "Oh! Takashou-sama..." she said, her eyes wide as a blush colored her cheeks and she moved her hands to cover her chest instinctively. The blanket was too far down for her to reach easily. "I have time. What is it that you need?"
Gazing over at the closed door to the enclosure, she wondered how he managed to get inside. Was she sleepwalking again?

The woman parted her lips to accept the advances of the other, feeling his weight on top of her, coupled with his warmth. He had a way of paralyzing her with the way he handled this sort of contact and she, the less experienced, followed along, lost, but trusting.
His gaze after the kiss, however, made her want to cross her legs again. Being oogled was certainly something new. She took it as a good sign, however, as he seemed pleased at what he saw. "Wait..." she would whisper, a little nervous about the whole ordeal despite the fact that this was the sort of thing her body had wanted ever since she'd first gazed into those eyes when she came to Yochi. Quickly, clumsily, she would recall the ring that fortunately hadn't strayed far from her hand. "I... ummm... bought this for you. Is it to your liking?" she asked insecurely.
The small, glinting object she held up for her mate's inspection was a small ring. It was composed of some sort of golden metal, etched black runes and designs dividing it into a smaller winding spiral, culminating at the center, where three white gold claws held a perfectly round, red gemstone in place. It wasn't a ruby, but it was a similar bloody color, and seemed to have some sort of gyrating energy contained within it that sometimes caused the gem to appear orange or brown or a sulfurous yellow instead of its default hue. Like the sword, it seemed to have been made with lots of care.

At first, the kami felt concern and thought she should tell the other that the ring was designed to give off fireballs empathetically... like a weaponized mood ring, but she felt such pride at having been complimented on her purchase that it slipped her mind. His heat was intoxicating. Almost greedily, she returned the kiss, one hand slowly creeping about his shoulders and grasping about his hair. With the ring on his finger, it all seemed legit, nothing to be ashamed about anymore. She'd won this fair and square, after all.

The kami suddenly clenched her teeth, her body tense at the new feeling that rippled through her body. She hadn't even touched herself down there to prevent lust from cropping up, but now with this other's hand touching her unexplored sensitivity it was all she could do not to cry aloud. Her body writhed despite herself and she suddenly came to be holding the oni's hair much tighter than before, her eyes closed and her breaths short and ragged.

Prior to the dresser catching on fire, the kami found herself in a strong state of bliss, hardly aware of where she was anymore as her body contracted rhythmically... like a warm, wet seizure. She felt him doing something different too, and she could recall in her mind how this thing was supposed to go and thus how it had gone, but she had no memories of experiencing such a thing in a female body. But now her mind was weary and so was her body from the effort of the Enhance, a technique she no hadn't the energy to hold any more as the object near her head ignited with a boom. "Mmmm..." she said wearily, slumping to the bed and not seeming aware of the crackling furniture. "What was that? It was very nice. We should... do it again sometime..." though her breaths were ragged, she was talking as though in a dream.

The kami lay, completely unaware of the tossing out of the dresser, still feeling the afterglow of her first... well, she had no name for it. Such things existed pleasantly as they were and language only limited them. Surely one word could not sum up the heat and passion, the sensations she'd just experienced. She only drew her comforter around her all the more tightly as the ashen wood splintered against the ground into many loudly crackling embers.
Feeling the male settle near her, she scooted over until he was within reach, snuggling against his chest and sighing contentedly. All of the drama and forces she'd had to go up against to get to this moment was worth it, she decided as her consciousness began to fade.
