Since I'm Still Here...

The fighting had ended and the Envoy was still alive and in the seaside village. He assesses the damage and finds that operations should be back up to speed in no time. The envoy roams around the area helping out where he can until one of the civilians that he was aiding in getting their shop back together remarks that their Master was back and seemed displeased at the events that had transpired. That is completely understandable. To have your village attacked while you are away and unable to defend it. Quite annoying to say the least. The envoy knows that he will have to be very careful in how he handles this meeting. His thoughts fall to the envoy who was executed for sparking a conflict between Mandira and a neighboring faction that I wanted to bring into the fold, but instead I had to battle them first.

The envoy makes his way towards the main building where their Master would be. He goes over what to discuss and what topics to avoid in his head. He does not know much about who the Lord of this village is except for what he would have been told by the villagers he had been helping. Upon reaching the command center or palace, the envoy would stop at the guards and inform them of his desire to meet with their Lord on behalf of the Sovereign of Mandira.

There would be no command center or palace in visible range for the envoy to go to. Neither would there be guards anywhere in which to interface with. If the envoy was in search of the Lord of Domenance, he would first have to come across a way of seeking audience with the lord. Since there was no visible throne room or elder tent to do that at, some investigation would be required. The most prominent structure in the lands would be the Temple of Domenance. Though there would not be guards there, they would be everyday citizens coming and going into and out of that place in order to pay homage, pray, and ask for blessings from there Lord. The ‘guards’ whom the envoy would have stopped at would be carpenter and his brother waiting for his wife to meet him at the temple. If he did in fact stop and speak to this person who he mistook at a guard, they would ask him to repeat what he said, since they would be caught off guard by whatever he was talking about.

The Envoy looks at the Palace Guards and realizes that perhaps he spoke too fast, so he speaks slower but not deliberately as not to offend them. "Good day, sirs, I am here to speak with your master, the Lord of Domenance. I am Onak, Special Envoy of Mandira sent here to offer our aid in helping your people during the aftermath of what has transpired here. Is your Lord here?" The Envoy, Onak, would look at both of them and while he isn't too familiar with the customs of their attire, he does not notice weapons on them either. Still, they might be martial artists and thus that would explain why they carry no weapons or they could simply be concealing their weapons. Yes, that would make sense too.

The ‘palace guards’ look at one another and then back to the male standing in front of them. “Ah! I get it. You must seek the Lord of Domenance.” The looks to the other guard who seems to agree that this must in fact be the case. Looking back to him, they judge the envoy to have a rather odd way of speaking, but they assumed that he must have come to pay tribute at the temple from a faraway place. Neither had heard of the place called Mandira, but they understood helping out one another in the time of need, especially after what happened earlier. “Good, friend! You have come to the right place. Go with my brother and he will show you the path to the Lord of Domenance… I must wait here for someone, but we will join shortly.” The brother gives a hearty wave and motions for him to follow him into the temple. Turning towards it, the large double doors of the cathedral like structure would open, revealing the insides of the temple. There was a wide audience chamber setting with a wide crimson carpet trailing from the door way to the alter throne that rested at the front center of the tabernacle. The walls and ceilings held artwork in the semblance of the Lord and Priestess of Domenance and crystal chandeliers hung from the ceilings. “This way my friend,” the brother coaxes as he leads the way to the alter.

The Envoy is pleased at realizing that all that is required is for him to speak a little slower and the commoners would understand him. He bows to them and thanks the brother staying behind for his aid before casually following behind the second brother. This structure is quite impressive and the architecture is rather interesting. The Envoy had not seen a cathedral style building before. Mandira has a more Persian or Middle Eastern architecture to it. Perhaps this style was taught to the populace here like Mandira's style was taught to them by their Master.

The inside of this building is quite massive to be honest. The tapestry or murals of two figures is rather prevalent in this hall which identifies the Lord of Domenance and the Envoy inquires as he continues to follow towards the altar, "The woman in the artwork with your Lord, is that his mate?" He wanted to be sure that he had people's roles laid out properly so that he could address her with the proper respect. "Also, does your Lord have any children?"

The brother turns at the question and then looks to the artwork in question before confirming, “ah! That is the Priestess of Domenance. She is said to be an Angel hailed by the Lord himself and tamed into human form. She was the one responsible for healing all the wounded and reviving the dead after the plague army attacked our village. Since our Lord is private we learn much of what we know about him through her. She is his.” With that addressed, he moves on to confirm, “the Lord has no known offspring… I don’t think. The more devout would know.” Reaching the alter the bother advises, “now that we’re here, I shall show you how to properly hail the Lord to send your request up to him. Do as I do.” Crouching into his knees, he motions for the Envoy to join him. He performs the actions while explanation, “bow your head and hold your hands against one another in front of your face. Now reach out with your heart and seek the Lord to forgive your weakness. After thank, thank him for his protection and once you’ve done that, you may speak with him. If he so deems, he will speak back to you.”

An angel? Hmm... perhaps that means that she is like the Master, but much softer, or perhaps, it is a term that means like Grand Priestess or something. The Envoy would have to remember that. When they reach the altar, the Envoy looks at the guard and wonders what he is doing. He pauses for a moment and realizes that while many thought I mistreated my subjects, they did not have to do such things as this just to request an audience, but this is their land and their customs, so the Envoy would be follow suit to an extent. His loyalty, heart, and reverence are reserved for one and one alone. He would still this request, "Lord of Domenance, I am Onak, humble envoy of the Sovereign of Mandira, young would be friend to the north. My Master sends me to seek an audience with you in order to discuss the benefits of friendship and trade between our two domains. I would be deeply honored if you grant me the opportunity to speak with your Lordship. Thank you." He looks over at the guard and asks what the joined hands gesture does to aid in getting the audience. The Envoy wonders if it is a salute of some sorts for this land. He realizes that his fellow envoys received far easier tasks as they are familiar with before Tara Mura and Hejar's customs and ways. Onak, on the other hand, is trying to quickly get a feel of this place as he hopes to meet with the Lord.

Around them, it would be notable that dozens of people were doing the same thing at various areas around the temple. Some even brought in their own rugs to kneel on with some praying as the Envoy had and others kneeling with their face to the ground. The male finishes his own prayer before standing up and looking towards the envoy with a smile on his face. “Now don’t you feel better?” he asks him, “it’s always nice to receive the blessings of Domenance. Did he talk to you? Did you hear anything at all?” The male would be speaking with his tone almost expecting something miraculous to happen that would be a life changing experience for the envoy.

The Envoy simply blinks at him. It is at this very moment that the Envoy realizes that he is being punished for some past failure in one of his diplomatic missions. He tries to think of what that failure could have been. Coming up with nothing, his despair turns into hope as he realizes that this may not be a punishment, but a test to see if he is ready and skilled enough for some higher post or some reward. There is little challenge in being the Envoy to Hejar as the Master holds good history there. Tara Mura is just as easy as they are a close friend with whom we do business with on a regular basis and we have even protected them from pirates and the like. The Envoy to Domenance on the other hand is a trailblazer of sorts. We have had no known contact with them nor have we even heard of them until the recent events. If he can secure at the very least, amiable relations and open the pathway to future negotiations, then he will have proven himself. There must be a simple way to accomplish this.

The Envoy looks at the brother and smiles before replying, "You have been helpful, but I must find your master now. I am not completely familiar with your customs, but the one which we just performed does not seem to have worked, so I must try another until I can deliver my Master's message to your master. Thank you for your help." The Envoy smiles and looks around to try and find someone with some authority or a location that looks like it might be off limits. Careful observation should point him in the direction of where he needs to go next. He will not fail in his quest.

OOC: Where in the world is Domen Sandiego?! ^_^

The male gasps slightly as the Envoy stated that prayer failed him until he realizes what the envoy was actually trying to do. He wanted to actually meet the physical embodiment of the Lord of Domenance. The Envoy was already on his way of walking away when the male calls out behind him in a cryptic manner, “seek the right hand! Only he will have the key to the Alter of Domenance!...” His voice trails off in an eerie echo about the tabernacle as the Envoy exits. Anyone in the city would know who the master’s right hand was; all they needed was to be asked.

Seek the right hand he says? Walking outside, the Envoy look around the area as he starts to ponder if that is a riddle of some sorts. Deciding that there is only one way to find out, the Envoy decides not to find a random villager but to return to the Carpenter that he had been aiding in the rebuilding of his shop (?). Arriving, he would greet the Carpenter before inquiring, "Friend, if I wanted to seek the right hand, where would I need to go in order to do so?" The Envoy is hopeful that asking such a question isn't a trick to make him sound foolish, and that his friend would have useful information for him, so that the Envoy can continue his mission.

The carpenter within the shop (?) looks to the male who approaches him, assumedly from wandering the streets after traveling in a particular direction as he assumedly enters said shop. At the moment, he would be working on crafting a fine chair for Hakim’s household as a gift to his brother. Standing up and dusting his hands onto his carpenter’s apron, he greets him with a smile and asks, “so Envoy, you still roam about our village?” He is answered with the question about seeking the right hand. The carpenter comments, “you’re going to have to be more specific than that. The right hand seems like a rather cryptic message to convey…” He pauses for a moment and then realizes, “oh!...” He smiles and gives a nod before winking, “you would like to meet -the- right hand. I’m certain I will be able to assist you. Would like you to go now, or later on tonight when her shift starts?

Having come to the eastern side of the village, I find that my friend is in and when asked about me still roaming around, I nod with a smile. "That I am. I still have not gotten the opportunity to meet with your master and deliver the message of goodwill from my Master." He understood my dilemma as I don't even know what the message means. Her shift? "I am trying to find... how did he say it... seek the right hand for he will have the key to the Altar of Domenance. Do you know what he means? I am unsure of what that means myself, but if this right hand can gain me access to your Master so that I may deliver my message then yes, I would like to meet them as soon as possible." The Envoy is trying to wrap his head around all of this so that he can figure out where one would go to find the lord of a village that has no palace or command center and the largest building is a temple. Altar of Domenance... you generally find altars inside of temples.

There is a slight pause as everything he said is taken into consideration before the carpenter looks up and into the air for a moment and then generalizes, “oh, you seek the physical manifestation of the Lord of Domenance.” He smiles and assures, “such a thing is not easy to come by, but the right hand you speak of refers to my brother. Only he and a few are able to approach the Lord casually, so I could understand why someone would be confused if you were ‘seeking’ the master.” After being amused, he comments, “my brother’s name is Hakim, he is the lead carpenter of Domenance. I can introduce you to him if you like, just let me clean up here…” With that he moves into the shop and tidies up a few things as they would not be left out before returning back to the envoy, motioning for him to head outside with him.

The physical manifestation? Hmm... so it would seem that their master was like Mukhya's bird and could change his form being a physical form and either a bestial form or perhaps an energy form which would be interesting to see. The Envoy nods as his knowledge is updated in regards to the customs of this village. "Ahh, how fortunate that your brother is the one I seek. Thank you and take your time, friend." The Envoy waits patiently preparing himself mentally to meet with his friend's brother, Hakim. Once he returns from cleaning up, the Envoy would follow with a sense of purpose. He was about to move one step closer to carrying out his mission. He also feels a modicum of excitement for meeting this lead carpenter and right hand of the Lord of Domenance. His steps are light and full of energy as they would make their way thru the village with the scent of the Great Sea filling his nostrils even from their path within the village.

The carpenter would lead the envoy through the main streets of Domenance leading through an area that was heavily under construction. Moving towards the outskirts, there seemed to be a convoy of workers set up surveying the land. The carpenter explains that there were plans to raise a wall about the land in order to resist such a breach in the future. Nearing the group of men surveying, one male, prominent among the others, turns to the envoy and his escort as he greets, “good morrow brother. You have entertained the envoy?” The brother returns, “good morrow. Actually, he is seeking you. It seems he has a message that perhaps only you can deliver.” Hakim nods and understands as he turns to the men with them and advises that they could move on without him. The brother lifts a hand and turns as if to walk away. Hakim sees him off before greeting the envoy, “peace, brother. I am known as Hakim, the Leader of the Guild of Workers and consult to the Lord. What is it that you are in necessity of?”

The Envoy bows to the brother carpenter and thanks him for his time and aid. The defense project was a very good idea indeed. "It is most wise to defend your territory with strong walls. My Master has taught us that strong walls allow one to damage the enemy and train archers while not losing precious lives." The Envoy pauses for a moment to collect himself before he switches into "formal mode". Bowing to Hakim, the Envoy speaks, "I am honored to make your acquaintance, Guild Leader Hakim. I am Onak, Envoy of the Island of Mandira. My Master has sent me here on a mission of good will. The recent events have led him to desire a stronger network amongst the divine sovereigns. Your Master was thrown in with my Master as those falsely accused of attacks on the mainland. I am here to offer both friendship and economic prosperity. We are prepared to open trade with Domenance and provide medicinal supplies as well as other goods. We have a Master Blacksmith who is able to make divine weaponry and armor. Sorry, that was a lot." The Envoy Onak smiles sheepishly as he feels as tho he gave this man an information overload in such a brief time. He hoped though that he had not and that Hakim had been able to follow without a problem.

Hakim seems to agree with the Envoy’s initial words of defense. After hearing the words of the Envoy, he returns, “it is pleasing to meet you in peace as well, Onak of Mandira.” He continues, “I find the actions of your master benevolent, and am sure that some negations can be arranged so that things are mutually beneficial between our lands. I am distressed at the level of attention we’ve gained despite our still growing, but such a thing is expected to happen to a prosperous people. Most of our trade is internal due to our master’s desires, but something on the side can be arranged. Unfortunately, now is a time where we find ourselves extremely busy. It’s not the best possible time for these types of talks, and I must receive the approval of my master first. I’m unfamiliar with this Mandira, but if you give me its location, then I will send word when the time is right for negotiations and the trade routes between out lands can be charted.

Ooc: I just now noticed that you modded coming to Domenance since you don’t know where it s.

Onak finds himself quite pleased at the current standing of this encounter. If the attacks hadn't have occurred then perhaps these talks would have been able to progress further, but he fully understood. Onak retrieves a piece of parchment from his bag and shows Hakim his map while he makes a regional drawing of Mandira in respects to Tara Mura. Onak realizes that he was teleported so he actually doesn't know where he is, so he decides to inquire. "Leader Hakim, which path do you think will be fastest to return home to Mandira up here? You see my Master sent me here, but has no way of retrieving me... at least I don't think he does." Once he finishes his regional drawing, he would hand that to Hakim for him to keep. He figures that they have maps here and could simply make a marking for Mandira on their own maps now that they know where it is.

OOC: Psh, ninja please! (hahaha this works completely for you :p) I been known where you were... when my spies told me where the attacks were occurring I only had to follow the footprints. Well, that and I read Ren's mind when he wouldn't tell me where he was from, lol. My next post will be my exit then and we can start whenever you want.

Hakim studies the map and gets a good idea of where Mandira is. He would request to keep the map for his records, since the directions home for the Envoy would be fairly simple. Luckily the Envoy was prepared to give it to him, and he would take it. No homo. Looking up, he finds the positioning of the sun in the sky. He locates north and points in that direction, instructing, “head north east and you will be able to find the coastline. From there you will only need to continue for several days until the terrain becomes recognizable.” He lowers his hand and completes, “I hope that is sufficient. If you like I can set it up so that one of our trade merchants heading to Tara Mura can drop you off there.” Either way, Hakim would wish him luck on his journey.

Ooc: That’s fine, but I just go by the definition of Portal and Teleport though. One takes you to somewhere you’ve been before and the other warps things within visual range. That’s nice what you said, but it doesn’t really apply to anything.

The Envoy agrees to hang around until their next trade convoy headed up to Tara Mura. He figures that it would be a good opportunity to talk with the merchants and get a feel of what Domenance offers in terms of goods as well as more importantly, what they are in need of. There was also the matter of strength in numbers so if another attack was to come then the Envoy's chance of survival would be higher with more people. All the same, as soon as they were ready, he would make the journey home to report on the events that transpired.
