The Dark Tournament

The overlords of Onitoshi have decided, for mysterious reasons, to run a massive tournament in the dark realm. They have promised special prizes and status recognition for those strong enough to win. Politically, the syndicates of Arden will provide powerful representatives from each group, but the event is free and open for all to enter.

Due to the lack of a gate watcher, almost anyone will be able to physically come to Onitoshi. After gaining knowledge of strong demons, representative spirits have been sent to Yochi in order to transport them to the tournament grounds. These spirits will temporarily protect them from the effects of Onitoshi. This means all classes are able to participate. These spirits have also found the portal to the past, so it's possible for residents of the past realm to participate as well.

Due to the diligent efforts of a few demonic clans of watyr, void, and support magix users, the grounds feature a yochi-like atmosphere. The fighting will take place in a vast amphitheater constructed inside of Arden. It is shaped as 6 concentric ovals, the center of which holds the actual stadium where the fights take place. Each "oval" has a different type of environment to battle in. Sometimes the overseers of the tournament themselves add some special condition or hazard into the fight. The spectating sections surround the environments. The highest, farthest away seats on the outer rim are serviced by large magical "screens."

For those who want to only spectate, a vast Chaos Carnival churns around the grounds. It consists of gambling, food vendors, junk dealers and other merchants either, game shows, and even lodging exclusively to the disliked visiting kami and human crowds.
