PostSubject: A game of chess   A game of chess EmptySun Sep 19, 2010 9:09 pm

The class was on mathematics and was uniformly quite dull too the blond, but he paid just enough attention to keep writing his notes down. Kuna found himself waiting for the bell to ring, which fortunately enough it did rather then drawing out the torture. He quickly stuck all of his bags in haphazardly, just wanting to get the day over with, but he had to meet with Izuya. *It seemed pretty much like that guy wasn't there at all.* The blond mulled in his head while he started navigating too the entrance of the school. It wasn't the first time he had seen such strange things before, but for the past month or so he had been seeing strange things out of the corner of his eyes. It was rather disconcerting especially given that this was his first direct encounter with such a phenomenon. His pale blue eyes quickly picked up Izuya's image as stood next too the gate. "Hope you weren't waiting for me long." Kuna said while closing up the last bit of distance between them.

Izuya would be an easy one to find, as his eyes would already be on Kuna and waving by the time Kuna noticed him. This time, people would be mindful of walking around Izuya as others seemed to notice him now. On the arrival of the blond, the brunette counters, “not long at all, though the school day was rather long, don’t you think?” Motioning to the side, the juts his thumb towards a black sports bike that was leaning to the side on its kickstand. It would look a little outside of the range of a normal high school student, perhaps something someone in college would have, or someone spoiled whose parents had money. Still, there would be some question to the legality of a student riding a motorcycle to school. Ignoring all of that completely Izuya inquires with a playful smile, “Do you mind riding me from behind? The park I like to go to is a little ways from here, but I promise Kuro-kun there is an easy ride.”

Kuna noticed the way people reacted too Izuya now, but there was still some hesitation on what kind of person Izuya truly was. "Well, you can't help things with schools, but at least the teachers were nice enough not to load us down with lots of homework. I think they are being more conscious of the students since the disaster." The blond would say as he slung his backpack over his shoulder. "I have to say that riding a motorcycle wasn't something I had planned on, but I am feeling adventurous today." Kuna would make his way over kneeling down to get a closer look at the motorcycle. "Its in pretty good condition, but you have a pretty big engine on this cycle. It must go through fuel like a beast." He would say as he ran his fingers across the engine block before standing up straight.

PostSubject: Re: A game of chess   A game of chess EmptySun Sep 19, 2010 9:51 pm

“Oh, you know about these things?” Izuya chirps in an impressed manner, “How interesting. I just told the man I wanted one that goes fast. It took me a while to learn how to drive it, though. I’m afraid I don’t know much about it except how to go.” Pulling one leg over the bike and squatting on it, Izuya would lift up the kick stand and start the thing. He would lift the helmet from the handlebars and offer it to Kuna. If Kuna did not wish to use it, he would simply put it over his own head and motion for Kuna to go ahead and get on board. After he was on and all, Izuya would look at the flow of traffic before pulling away from the side walk in front of the school’s entrance entering into the street.

The bike ride would be normal enough from the school a park probably about three or so miles away, still in the academic district. Izuya would weave about the after school traffic, seemingly not wanting to be bothered with it. On arrival to the park, he would stop the bike along the side of the street and lower the kick stand. The park would be a wide open area within the city zoned for recreation. Manicured grass and foliage would cover about two city blocks filled with people jogging around the park, walking dogs, small kids playing on swings and sandboxes and friends tossing Frisbees and other like activities. Luckily in the chaos that occurs in the recent pass, the wide scale damage had not reached up this far to damage the park. A few weeks had passed before they were actually able to get the city looking normal again, though the mayor had given the weak excuse of terrorism to explain the attack with the promise that Division 12 would prevent any further attacks. Izuya would wait for Kuna to dismount before he would do the same and secure the bike in its parked position. The chess tables, where older men and genius types normally sat at concrete benches, were about a couple hundred feet away into the parks interior.

"Yeah, I've worked on them with my father before. He is a mechanic." Kuna would explain as he mounted up behind Izuya and would gratefully put the helmet on, then he would just hold onto dear life as the engine roared to life and into traffic.

Once they stopped at there destination, the blond would take off the helmet passing it back over too Izuya while he regarded their surroundings. *Must still be inside of the Academic District.* he thought to himself while he got off the bike. "Seems like there are still some places that seem untouched, but I guess there are always a need for places for people to unwind and decompress." Kuna would stretch his limbs "I hope you brought with you a chess set." He said as he turned around to see just a thing in his hands. "Why don't you tell me a bit about yourself Izuya before we get too the chess tables?"

Stretching out and expanding his arms in a twirl, Izuya would turn in the direction of the chess area as Kuna spoke. He lowers his arms as he takes in Kuna’s words and then twists his body towards him before agreeing, “well, most of the times it’s only the poor humans who get hurt. The rich or well taken care of seem to always get away scott free.” Totally ignoring the bit about ‘tell me about yourself’ as if not having heard it, Izuya holds both hands out to the side and shrugs, “unfortunately I do not have a chess set with me.” Looking to the side nonchalantly, he comments, “when you said you weren’t that good, I scrapped the idea…” He seems to realize something as he continues, “oh, but that doesn’t explain why we’re here.” His expression changes to one of relief as he continues, “well, I suppose that isn’t important.” Lowering his arms, he lifts his right to point a finger at Kuna and announces, “I love you, let’s make out.”

Kuna just gave a chuckle; though, he had not failed to notice the attempt to dodge the conversation about his companion. "Alright, alright I take it you do not want to talk about your past." The blond said as he took a few steps into the park. "So, if we aren't here to play chess, and you don't know of a reason too be here. I think we should make up a reason." Kuna said looking around once more. "Hmm, we both look older then we are." He would then point towards two good looking women a red head and a brunette that were jogging past them. "I am going to bet that you can't get the numbers of both women at the same time." Kuna said issuing a challenge too the spirit, which he thought should be challenge enough.

PostSubject: Re: A game of chess   A game of chess EmptySun Sep 19, 2010 10:48 pm

“Ah poo…” Izuya seems disappointed that his offer was kindly rejected. Correcting Kuna, he confirms, “Ah, don’t allow my words to deceive you, I do know exactly why we are truly here as well as my purpose for you.” Looking to the two young ladies, he holds up a finger to Kuna and advises him, “but to reward your coming… ladies!” He calls out to the young women who had jogged pass, calling their attention to turn around. His main objective was met when eye contact is made; though it was not entirely needed. Luckily, these two young ladies were humans which would make this process that much easier. Displaying a hidden ability of his, he ensnares the two young ladies within his grasp (Influence) and with a beckoning motion and draws them asking in a raised voice, “could you join me and my friend for one moment.” He doesn’t control their minds too much so that it would be obvious, just enough to get them there. The reaction should be engineered to have the young ladies look at one another as if interested before jogging back towards their position. Izuya waits until they are on their way back towards them before he returns his gaze to Kuna and inquires with a foxish grin, “now before I attempt this, what are you wagering with your bet? Can I choose what I get?”

"Hmm, I guess you can choose what the wager will be, but I reserve the right to refuse it." He would say as the two women stop in front of the teenagers, quickly scanning the both of them in a predatory manner. The blond would suddenly get the mental image of being just a slab of meat in the mind of these two ladies, but if he was going to be objectified he would do the same. Kuna would remain demure while he watched Izuya going about his work, but he noticed subtle mannerisms creeping into the way that the women talked and seemed to be drawn towards his companion. "I guess Izuya you have a animal magnetism that attracts the ladies too you, huh?" He would ask.

Izuya giggles at the fact that Kuna would reserve the right to refuse; that much seemed fine with him. To the question, he merely shrugs. “Heh, maybe it’s the deodorant I’m wearing?” Izuya surmises as he turns to the approaching lady and greets them merrily speaking, “hello ladies! My friend here has issued me the task of getting both of your numbers, but I will like to take that a bit further. Both of you please strip naked now, I command you!” With his final words, his arms lift into the air Y style as if declaring his words. There is a pause for a moment along with an awkward silence as the two women look at each other and then to Izuya. He raises en eye brow, “eh?” In the moments that pass, two hands find either side of Izuya’s face, leaving red marks before the women turn and continue jogging in the way they were originally headed. Izuya leans over holding his face gingerly as he laughs, “That was great!” After having his laugh, Izuya leans up finishing the rubbing of his cheeks and comments, “I guess I don’t get to pick something I want.” He gives a grin towards Kuna and asks, “but those are the type you’re interested in, eh? I’m not sure if they would be classified the Onee-chan type… Ne, do you have a girlfriend?” While speaking, he would begin casually walking and motion for Kuna to follow as if having a destination in mind.

"That was a nice way of blowing it. Lucky too that they didn't slap you hard either." Kuna said as he gave a rueful shake of his head. "I think that I get what you are talking about. I haven't really thought about what kind of taste in women I would have particularly. I do like older women though, but not if it meant them being in control of the relationship." He would say ignoring the last part of the question since that was one of the favorite tactics of his companion. "Since we are talking about types of girls that we like, I figure you like someone that could keep up with you, particularly in challenging you intellectually. You don't seem the type to want a boring woman, but go ahead and correct me if I am wrong." Kuna said as he continued to follow Izuya.

“Hmm… so you like control,” Izuya observes before answering, “Who said I liked women?” Izuya asks this while walking before Kuna, but glances over to Kuna. Moving on from that comment, he continues as he shifts his gaze back to his front, “I’m not that intellectually deep, I’m afraid. I’m actually pretty shallow; she just needs to be pretty for what I would need her for.” He pauses in his steps and his tone suddenly changes; without turning to Kuna he comments in kind of in a dull tone, “I think I have a good idea of what type of human you are now. Now that that is over, my use for you changes. You’ve figured it out by now, haven’t you? That I’m not human? Actually, you had that notion for some time, but haven’t come out right and said anything.” His gaze lifts up towards the skies as he comments, “haven’t you noticed the floating shouchu in the evening skies? The things no one else around you is able to see, but you are somehow?” His gaze tilts down and to the side, returning to Kuna attentively.

"Not so much control as a equal relationship." Kuna would say as he waited to listen to what he had to say next. "Well, it wasn't like you put much obvious means into hiding what you were, especially with the other students passing you by like that." The blond would say as he raked a hand through his hair once more thinking about all of the little incidents. "I've noticed things out of place, and I have wondered what it all meant. What it all means I have nary a clue, but its obvious to me that whatever it is, its huge." He would finish up saying though he was carefully guarding himself at this particular moment since he did not know what intention Izuya had for him.

Interest is re sparked in this manner as Izuya turns about fully and faces the young man, taking a few steps towards him. As he walks towards Kuna, white light sparks about the ground in a circle engulfing the both of them. After the circle is formed, a pillar of light lifts up and the area around them turns hazy. In a split moment, the light begins to fade and there is nothing around them, save for an abyss of white surrounding on all sides. Distance seemed to be void in this area in which they had been teleported to. Izuya continues speaking nonchalantly, “this is more intimate… now there is a lot to this world that can easily be explained by changing your way of thinking. I have answers… would you like to know them?” A satisfied grin would be on the face of the young man as his head tilted up a bit with the question. He coaxes, “come, ask me things of this world… allow me to change your perception on life.”

"You'll have to understand me being reasonably cautious and wondering what sort of hidden price tag you might have put on these answers that you would supply me." Kuna would say as he took a quick assessment of the white void that surrounded the both of them. "Answers are irreverent without knowing what the questions are first, then we know what context to which those answers fit." He would say showing a confident smirk towards Izuya. "The first question obviously has to be what happened actually during that night of fire and earthquakes. It couldn't just be a terrorist attack like the Mayor said."

Clapping at his answer, Izuya seems delighted by the caution. He was delighted that Kuna would immediately realize that there was a price to his answers. What a sharp one he was! Izuya lingers happily upon Kuna words before pausing and stating, “I don’t know!” He chuckles a little bit before confirming, “I’m lying. I know, and I’ll tell you. This one will be free.” He takes a step back and slowly vanishes into the atmosphere being created around them. It shows the city under fire with various types of demons slaying humans in the open. Izuya’s voice speaks ominously as he comments, “it is as you see. Monsters of all types came into the city and slaughtered humans.” There were explosions all around Kuna almost as if he were there. The voice continues, “the human government has known about these monsters… they refer to them as terrorists and hide them from the humans… because only special humans are able to even see them…” It would be notable that among the humans who would be slain, would do so without recognizing why they were dying in the first place. Flames billowed from structures and vehicles and screams filled the air.

Kuna still kept his cautious approach around what he was revealing. "It makes sense that they would want to keep a tight control upon who knew about this information, but eventually they are going to have too reveal this too the public." Kuna would say absently to himself. "This begs another question." He would look superstitiously around "Don't give me an answer unless its free. "If I go by with what you just revealed, then the government must have some type of combative force built up to deal with such occurrences." He raised a hand to quell whatever Izuya was about to say next "That isn't the more interesting part since there is a fairly easy way to extrapolate their interests. The unknown is the demons." There was a pause in his speech while he regarded the scenes playing out in front of him. "Most of these demons appear to be mostly disorganized, but if you think about it somebody had to be there too give them direction, which leads me to believe that its the person or persons who orchestrated this entire incident did it for a particular reason." There was another pause "That leaves four questions. Who are they, why are they doing this, and how do they plan to go about and accomplish their goals."

“Yes!” Izuya squeals as the scheme fades away leaving him in the center of the returning white void with his closed eyes upwards and his arms hugging himself while twisting both ways, “a droplet of information leads to the want for more.” He composes in a calm manner and lowers his hands to his sides and gaze to Kuna, “and such is the addictive drug of curiosity, the thing that keeps me both well amused and taken care of.” With a sigh, he brings the tips of his fingers to his head and looks dramatically to the side as he comments, “but that won’t work with you… such a pity… I’m afraid you’re not a good match for me. We can never be lovers as our personalities will never work well together… and…” He returns his gaze to Kuna, “you’re calculating and intelligent; I just cannot compete.” He shrugs nonchalantly in a defeated manner stating, “That’s why I have to stay simple.” He was showing his cowardice in avoiding a battle of wits with Kuna as he continues, “so!... that is why I will make things really simple with a game.” He holds up five fingers and comments, “you have four questions, in response to the one I have answered. So before that, I have one question… what will you do… no… what can you do by knowing those answers?”

He would not react too the change of scenery; though, Izuya's mannerisms were unsettling to say the least "I don't know about that. I think you have been rather calculating yourself, and I wouldn't want to go up against you in intellectual matters. You put on an air of levity, but you do that all for merely curiosity's sake, like you said before" Kuna said as he mulled over the question Izuya had posed too him. "That is an interesting question one that brings up a multitude of answers. You said that I could see spirits, and while it might not be common. It is certainly not a rare ability. I doubt that I could change much through force of arms, but that isn't what we are talking about is it?" He would meet Izuya's gaze "I assume that the enemy has lots of advantages one of them being that their agenda is largely hidden, while they know their enemy thoroughly. So, I think the only thing I could do bar some divine intervention of some sort of godly superpower would be too know your enemy so thoroughly that you would know what his next move was going to be."

Izuya laughs out right without holding back. He teases, “there it is! There you go thinking again.” He giggles lightly as he composes a bit and sighs, “You are very amusing to me. Though I don’t think I would get along well with you, I do find being around you quite pleasing.” Getting down to business, he comments, “but let me let you in on something. As I’ve eluded, I sell information for various gains. In this case, I want to help you pursue the answers to your questions as well as help you create new ones with new possibilities. Of course you will have to pay; everyone pays, but your fee will not be something ominous and vague. You will not have to worry about fine print. All I require is your friendship and help if I ever come into a pinch… don’t worry that you’re an almost normal human who really cannot affect much!” He stands upright and holds out a hand as if to offer a shake, “if you can offer me that, I will continue to change your life from this point on… if not, you won’t even remember our meeting… what do you say?”

A small cock of an eyebrow was made at Izuya's offer. "I think your definition of friendship is much different from mine, but you have been entertaining in your frivolity." He would say with an amused expression. "I don't mind being friends with you Izuya provided that you are level with me and tell me what I would be getting into by helping you." He would think about what he said once more before having a little smirk cross his face "I think Izuya you've given me a challenge without realizing it, which I am sure you will figure out eventually." Kuna would say holding back that he was going to push himself towards becoming a being that could change the future as a human.

Izuya listened to the words Kuna had to offer and would remain before him with his hand extended still, not pulling away the opportunity to shake on it. Though, a smirk did come across his face as he ponders upon Kuna’s words but lack of action. Izuya teases, “Still cautious of me on such simple terms?” He would slowly draw back the hand that was extended for friendship, having drawn his own answer from the response as he chimes melodically and chiding in musical tones, “this-is-why-we-won’t-work!” He sighs and steps back informing, “Still you request more information without a means of paying… even the means of paying raises more questions which you expect to be answered for free…” Turning to the side he shrugs, “simply won’t do. You’re too sly for innocent, straightforward me.” He seems to come to a realization as he concludes, “Let’s go for a change of scenery, shall we? But then, will you ask where we’re going? Shall I answer simply, someplace other than here? Of course you don’t know where here is, but that is not free either.”

"Well, I don't think its more then reasonable caution to partake in, when your friend happens to be a of the spirit sort who can some how manipulate dimensions or at least my perception of it. You have to take things with just a grain of salt." He would explain shaking his blond locks for a few moments as he contemplated what Izuya said next "See we are not talking about the same things again are we?" He would say in a self assured manner while he stuck his hands into his pockets. "What you are asking for is me being a client, but being a friend is very much different in my books then its in yours, am I wrong?"

A game of chess Empty
PostSubject: Re: A game of chess   A game of chess EmptyTue Sep 21, 2010 10:27 pm

Izuya’s demeanor changes to become more stoic as the tilt of his head lowers and his gaze remains on Kuna. “Poo... you're getting boring again. Reason has carried you your entire life and left you blind to the truths of this world. It would hold to reason to throw reason to the wind. Being reasonable will kill you if you put too much stock into it.” Dismissing his own abilities he comments, “I assure you what you are seeing is merely smoke and mirrors set in place.” He answers, “but more importantly, people do not only have one title. I have clients that I am friends with as well as clients I am not. Nothing is stopping you from servicing both roles. For if you were to come into my store and purchase bread, the bonds of friendship would not pay for the next loaf to be sold. What friend would take from a person’s livelihood? I don’t think you’re that type of person. But forgive me, I digress. We will soon find the centers of this realm by beating a burrowing circular path about bushes. The conversational portion of our bonding is complete… now we shall partake in an epic adventure together in order to strengthen our nonexistent bonds of friend ship.” A sinister look smile would come to his face as he lifts his right hand into the air while murmur various incantations of demonic tongue. The grounds around them would start to spark and glow with bright spiritual light shining from below them. During this, Izuya keeps his eyes on Kuna intent on a reaction or reply.

"One could say that, but a counter your argument be that those reasons where founded upon false perceptions of the world then of course they will get you killed." Kuna would say while he regarded the rest of his words. He was still very much cautious around this person, but he had to admit to liking him. There it was again the shift in behavior which signaled too Kuna that Izuya was trying to test him again. "Fine fine, I'll drop having to inform me whats it about." He would say bringing up his hands in defeat. "I'll help you out every once in awhile." The blond would say with a little shake of his head and a chuckle.

The spirit does not answer him verbally; as he announced, the portion for his words was over. He does enjoy the response he gets in his last visible glimpses of Kuna, but the brilliant light whites out the surrounding until there is nothingness. The particular spell used by Izuya would be one of teleportion; Kuna’s body would no longer be in the same realm they had originated in. It would be in the past realm, a realm skewed into existence by the workings of much higher order spirits, but visited on occasion by those who did not belong there. Now, Kuna would be one of those visitors that did not belong there. Much like in the manner that Armant would be transported the following day, Kuna would be deposited in an alleyway of a city known as Sai Village. His clothing, speak and mannerisms would differ greatly from the time he was in, though that would be something to be found out on his awakening. On his awakening, Izuya would be nowhere to be found.

Exit RP; Kuna can have my WC for EXP. Storyline wise, this would have you arriving in the past realm 1 day before the saga started; so you’d be there a day ahead of Armant.
