It is an ominous night. The skies are black, mimicking achromatic coals. The weather is thickly cloudy, making the stars not perceptible. There's probably a bit of people still out; especially including the infamous yakuzas that tend to loiter this district of the city. There are signs of rain, perhaps a thunder storm later on. This is why a particular family decided to seek refuge in their home for a family reunion. It a decently sized house a fine brand for a car is parked behind what seems to be a red truck. In turn, this indicates that there is potentially something happening there, since usually it was just the truck there. Since it is so late at night, however, the reunion has been put to a cease. Mei's Mother and Father were still downstairs, yet her younger sister and her were upstairs in separate bedrooms.

Mei's slumber could be easily be noted from the actual lack of indication from her room. Silence, maybe subtle breathing, but that is all. Her sister apparently is insomniac because she fears that there is something malefic behind the closet; Mei simply told her prior to this to not believe in such tales. All in all, so far it has been a good day. She had driven all the way here from her house hours ago to visit her family in this residential location. She was surprised to see how much people had externally changed, but hadn't been too surprised to see that they all still maintained their mundane idiosyncrasies.

Encountering Megalomania Empty
PostSubject: Re: Encountering Megalomania   Encountering Megalomania EmptyWed Nov 17, 2010 10:44 pm

It was nothing personal.

Amidst the onyx night, one such mischievous being of the spiritual variety finds himself lying on his back upon the rooftop of a house threateningly close to a home housing a family reunion, looking up at the foreboding skies. A higher order in the guise of a human, he wore a black leather coat with white trimmed fur wraps a torso covered in a black V neck tee shirt with dark denim fitted jeans covering the lower body. Izuya was many things, but on this night, he was an instigator. A light sigh escapes his lips as his thoughts are long the line of how tedious it was to have to do work himself, rather than to have someone to help him with it. Among his lackeys, he was taking a break. The most prominent one seemed to break under the mental stress that came with being around the previously mentioned higher order; it seemed it was hard making friends that one could use these days. Either way, departing from the irrelevant details of Izuya’s backstory, his current purpose here mixed in with his job and perhaps taking that job a bit too far for the eager and paying customer. In his dealings with the Yakuza of the Lower Commons he manipulated their fears of the Venturon’s prominence and manifest destiny mentality of land and conquest over the Commons. It could be noted that Izuya would also deal with the Bastion Yakuza against the Common’s Yakuza, but this wasn’t their night. As such, there was a suggestion made within the Common’s Yakuza on territory bordering the Lower Common and the Bastion. The denizen organizations of the Bastion were fearful bunch and due to some exaggerated promises on his ability of espionage Izuya found himself in this situation. Alas, he had no desire to be a one man crew of destruction, nor did he have an elite team of fighters or gunmen to perform this attack on the local Yakuza; luckily for him, however, he stumbled upon Fluffy in the Western Forests earlier. He was almost certain that Fluffy could handle everything, albeit in a messy manner, which could be cleaned up with the proper placement of ‘information’ on the Bastion’s side in the very close future.

Izuya’s body rolls onto his shoulders and he springs to his feet with a feline grace as he stands up on the side of that rooftop with his hands into the pockets of his jacket. The Bastion gang members were close by, insanely so, as they were holding a secret meeting opposite the house holding the family reunion. A few strangling members were quickly making their way towards the large house as Izuya stood passively on the side looking towards the streets. He was along the thought that it would be better to get this over with quickly; no witnesses would be best, meaning all of the gang members in attendance this night would have to die. It was only unfortunate that the leader wouldn’t be in tonight. Izuya’s right hand comes from his coat pocket and up, seemingly petting something as Fluffy’s body comes into view. The chin materializes at the petting hand as the Yokai coming out of its spiritual form and into its physical form floating above the rooftop that it would more than likely crush if it were to stand on it. The beast cooed submissively under the firm mental control of the skilled Higher Order demon. It was time.

With a single nod, Izuya lowers his hand and the Yokai answers by leaping from the air to land on the ground, hard. It performs its first swiping attack on the house that held the multiple targets. On landing, the beast’s weight would cause a notable shudder to the area around it; destroying the front door area would cause quite the audible ruckus. With a single swipe, the front of the building holding the gang member would be rent and sent crumbling. Fluffy’s welcome to those inside would come in a ferocious blast of sweltering heat energy into the front area of the house. There was already the sound of men yelling; orders were being called out along with yells of disbelief and misfortune. Izuya’s arm shifts from his pocket once more to look at his watch as he chirps, “I’ll give him a minute or two to play before clearing the area…” Speaking up, he calls out to Fluffy, “don’t let a single one get away, or no treats for you later!”

Mei was a pretty deep sleeper; but, the ruckus outside was enough to haul just about anyone out of their sleep. Of course, she had a profound tendency to, when awoken, end up going back to sleep. Initially, she rises up from her position. Elevating her back, she leans against her large stack of pillows. Barely realizing the occurrences both outside and around her, she stares towards blackness before her in a groggy state. She mumbles something, but just pulls her blanket up a bit more and goes back to sleep. Then, there is another noise, this time loud enough to raise hair on end. She snaps back up, and this time she commences rubbing her eyes. She looks towards her clock; it seemed to be pretty late. In her state, the numbers are barely legible even though they are blinking, red, and glowing. Her eyes are accustomed to the dark, and overall it just stings her eyes to look at. She hears a scream.

She is then up. Stumbling, she stubs her toe on the wall. "F--!" She holds it in, her formal etiquette not allowing her to finish the word. Her slipper's proximity with her closet, which in turn was on a wall, is the cause of this incident. Wincing, everything seemed to be going wrong. From her rushing due to not knowing what's going on, to stubbing her toe...thus exciting the irony of rushing to get something done quicker, but only taking longer. Putting her foot into the fabrics of her slipper she partially scuffs herself over to her nightlight. With her other foot, she pokes hte switch on its front. A neon glow is abruptly aroused, splashing a bit of light around the room. "God..." She mutters, probably referencing how her sleep at this reunion was so bad. She slept like a log, until she had to get up about two hours into her sleep. Not exactly being a fan of artificial lighting, she reaches for the barbeque lighter. By the TV, on top of the drawers, there is a red candle. She ignites the tip and it immediately radiates a soft glow. Lighting is minimal, but she can easily decipher her surroundings now. The candle is notably perfumed.

"You know, I didn't intend on getting up this early. What's the problem, Sayuri?" She asks her sister who is down the hallway. This wasn't exactly the best method of communication. If there was some robber, they would have easily been able to locate Mei with her exclaiming all of that. She is practically limping from her previous injury. She hears scrambling downstairs, so she knows her parents have likely been woken up. That overall wasn't a good sign. If the entire family had been woken, it's likely that there is an actual commotion, and not just Sayuri reacting to something not there. The latter case would have been extremely irksome, needless to say. "M-M...Mei..." Is what she can heard said from the adjacent room. Tapping into a bit of panic, Mei attempts to increase her pace without exerting too much force on her foot. When getting into the room, it is easy to light a candle since her sister has since had her nightlight on. The girl before her is around ten. Two years ago she was around eight, which was the last time she'd seen her since today. "They...that house is..." Sayuri lightly begins. "The noise? Oh, it's probably just construction or a bulldozer or something." She intercepts. "Nothing to be worried about." Her smile is reassuring, but the girl knows that wasn't the case. Mei then goes over to the window, opening it. Sticking her head out, she peers towards the opposing house. "See? Nothing to be...-aaahhh!" Her eyes widen slowly, staring at the cataclysmic activity happening outside. "Impossible..." She backs up, bringing herself fully into the room before slamming the windows shut. "What the he...what is this!"

Encountering Megalomania Empty
PostSubject: Re: Encountering Megalomania   Encountering Megalomania EmptyFri Nov 19, 2010 12:12 am

Izuya hums lightly to himself, something along the lines of ‘momma’s little baby love shortening bread’ as he watches the large feline rip through the front portions of the house and breath fire within it. A content smile is on his lips during this process as he found himself amused by the events going on. Suddenly, however, something very unexpected occurs when a loud, “ora!” is yelled from somewhere within the Yakuza’s meeting place and the large Yokai known as Fluffy finds itself flying back-first into the house behind it, the one that just so happened to encase the family reunion. The content smile on Izuya’s face turns into a look of confusion as his eyes focus on a lone figure stepping out of the fiery wreckage of the large house’s front area. The male figure seemed unaffected by the flames; his large frame was shirtless due to the fire claiming it, though he wore a pair of rugged blue jeans, brown steel toe boots and a brown leather belt with a large silver buckle. The half burnt remains of a cowboy’s hat sat upon his head; his right hand is in the palm of the left as he cracks his knuckles. Upon realizing that the man probably punched the beast back and into the previous house, Izuya lowers his body just a little to remain from being too conscious. “Shit…” he giggles, “I didn’t think they would have one of us… guess I was careless.”

Extremely not-happy, Fluffy gets up, not caring about the house into whom’s front it had fallen. It gets onto all fours and kicks its massive legs back, clearing a space for it as it powers up within its elements; it burns with flames lapping off of its body before it rushes forwards and towards the large male. The male braces himself and holds his palms up, “hmph!.” Fluffy pounces onto the man, who catches the feline’s front paws and throws it to the side, diverting the pounce, “off you go, Cat!” Sliding back and towards the Yakuza house, Fluffy’s rear wing-like folds flare up as it spits out four consecutive blasts of condensed heat sphere at the humanoid challenger. The male steps to the side of the first two, allowing them to by pass him and strike the house behind him. “Hrraah!” He lifts his arm to bash down the third one and the fourth seems to strike him in the chest. There is a “guu-wah!” and the explosion kicks up dust for a moment and Izuya frowns and wonders if he should pull back or re think his plans. He could easily feel that the man wasn’t down for the count just yet. Izuya knew that he had to do something; he was getting paid good money for this job. Sensing out towards the Yakuza’s building, Izuya gets the signature of people still alive and a few trying to escape. He sighs as he brings the tips of his fingers to his forehead. “I so didn’t want to get my hands dirty,” he complains in a regretful manner. With a shrug, he chuckles it off, “oh well.” With that, his body vanishes in a pillar of light. During all of this, he would not have even cared to look over to the building that Fluffy had brought harm to; collateral damage wasn’t a huge item on his list of important things to mind at the moment.

Encountering Megalomania MeiBoxTop
Before departure from the window, Mei obviously seen what was occurring outside. A broad diversity of things, one of the more blatant things being the destruction. Yet, it was some sort of titanic creature causing all of this. Not to mention there seemed to be a fairly nonchalant figure; but that aside, there were too many figures scrambling around to take excessive note. Though, it is good that she backed away from the window. Something seemed to be getting bigger and bigger as it got closer and closer to her view. "Sayuri, get out of the way!" She commands barely in time. She braces herself for the sudden impact as the thing crashes through the majority of the house's front. She is plummeted with a shower of glass, and she could only haul her arms up in defence after most of the damage had been done to her. Half of the room is collapsing, and the candle is knocked over, causing additional flame to the sudden mayhem. Tripping and falling on her rear, the adrenal rush does not permit her to note the lacerations and small cuts on her arms and face and other points from the glass rain. More importantly, she looks for her sister.

"Sayuri, where are you?" She calls out. In return, she doesn't get a coherent verbalization. She is warranted some sort of whimper, ruptured, stricken with ailment. Whilst listening to this disconsolate mourn she slowly looks in front of her. Her sister isn't as fortunate as her. Her legs are ensnared by at least half of the ceiling that had fallen in the disaster. Mei's eyes promptly widen and her bloodflow hastens as she begins to panic. Her own thoughts are barely legible to her. "Hold on. I'll get you out of there." She reassures, crawling over to the one of the boards piled on top of the child's legs. It has a hefty weight and she barely manages to shove it off. If she hadn't been fairly special, throwing it off likely would have been inconceivable. She begins to work on some more of the rubble that is stacked on the legs leg a deck of stone cards. Then, more inconveniences come along. Not only was the fire behind her spreading towards the only exit, but two new fire sources abruptly slam into the wall of the house. It begins to spread at a fleet pace. It easily manages to climb into the ransacked interior of the room and govern the rubble that Mei is trying to get off of her sister.

"No...Let me do something useful for once!" Despite there being flames on the boards, she attempts to pry it off. "It hurts...help, please..!" She faintly breathes. More ceiling inevitably collapses, and she can begin to smell smoke. The fires begin to scold her hands and they begin to refuse her demands. From all of the prying they've been doing, her fingers are beginning to become cut and her time is running out. "...will Mei get hurt if she tries to help me?" She asks her. Mei is still trying to touch the boards, but doing so would just make her hands inaccessible. "That doesn't matter!" Mei reprimands loudly as she looks around the room for possible things to use. "...i don't want Mei to be hurt. But...she would be a superhero if she could make it stop hurting..." To see her sister smiling in this scenario is enough to completely shred her heart to tenders. Though, she begins to scream because the flames have reached her body. Mei makes her way over to the drawer, the heat from the fire evaporating her tears before they could fall. Opening it, she retrieves her Adorned Pearl, which she hid here in case something they could deal with happened. She slowly makes he way to her sister, who is letting out persistent screams. "Make the monsters go away, Mei!" Between screeches she manages to writhe out. "...I will."

"I will."

Bittersweet mercy is enabled as a gunshot resonates throughout the house. Kicking open the door, she burns a bit of her pyjamas off from her knee down. She beats the small flame with her hand to get it to stop burning, resulting in consequences for her less dominant left hand. Dropping the gun dangerously, she doubles over before vomiting onto the wooden floor. Her mind is numb; it isn't possible to think straight. If anything, backwards would be the best way to describe her thought process. Inhaling the smoke is the biggest burden, even over the fire itself. It is toxic, and she can feel conflict in her lungs. She picks the revolver back up and holds it semi-defensively in her right hand. Luckily, the stairway is only partially in flames. As she moves she keeps close to the unaffected side of the stairs before eventually getting downstairs. She immediately notices and remembers that the front of the house is destroyed, needless to say, there is also a barricade of fire blocking her way out from the front door. "What are these things? They'll pay..." The flower she wore in her hair, it a chrysanthemum. Right now, she didn't even bother deciphering its condition. Nevertheless, perhaps it is just coincidence, but such a flower is an omen of death. Wherever she went there seemed to be general misfortune; even when she resorted to looking for a phone to call 911, she found that the cords were melted.

Making her way over to the couch of the house, she lets out a scream. Her parents are huddled together, smiling. Yet, it is painfully obvious that they are no longer alive. This is signified by the suicidal pills encased in the bottle beside them. It seemed that the cataclysm they saw outside had put them to this point. Mei is abruptly blinded by sorrow and anger. She couldn't save anybody; why should she herself be saved from this? She feels that the last thing she could do for them was at least have a remnant of the family still inhabiting this world. First her cousin was decapitated by these creatures, and now this? These things. They'd claimed the lives of her entire family, and for no particular reason. Mei picks up the blanket off of the couch. She is livid, and this manages to dry up all tears that were being produced. Quickly making her way over to the side door, she keeps the gun secure as she wraps herself with the blanket her parents had been sleeping with. Wrapping herself around it, she uses momentum and her strength to charge through the flimsy door, and through the convenient thin layer of fire that had masked it. Rolling, she knows she likely dislocated her shoulder on impact with the concrete on the driveway. As her adrenal surge is beginning to cease, she feels throbbing pains all over her entire body. It wasn't like she was particularly skilled with these sort of escapes. She gets off of the burning blanket before flames can reign over her, and begins to stumble over to her car, gun in hand.

"Somebody help!" She screams on the top of her lungs. She breaks into a fit of coughs, using the spoiler of her car for support. "I need help!"

Encountering Megalomania Empty
PostSubject: Re: Encountering Megalomania   Encountering Megalomania EmptyFri Nov 19, 2010 10:21 pm

Izuya would appear standing at the rear and closed iron gate that was behind the house where the Yakuza had convened. The fact that it was not open, boded well for the spirit. He took interest in watching as the men there attempted to assist the wounded and ones still alive, in getting out of the broken and burning house; the honesty housed in their pained and worried expressions seemed to be like an aphrodisiac for him. A twisted smile is curled on his lips when the first male turns to notice him and calls out to the others unsure of who Izuya was and why he was there. Already partially traumatized and getting a bad vibe from the spirit, the male reaches for his gun, but Izuya was already melding a spell and casting it over the area (Confuse). Suddenly, all those who had looked upon him turn to one another. There is the sound of several gunshots being fired followed by silence. After the deed was done, Izuya sighs slightly as he rubs his forehead with the tips of his right hand’s fingers and senses around him for any other signatures of life scurrying about. “Clean up is so demanding…” he complains lightheartedly, “this is why Fluffy should be doing this…” Counting the bodies, he gets a number that is close the one that he received earlier in his information that should be the amount of men who were scheduled to arrive at the meeting. Just to be sure, he molds another spell that freezes time. The fire stops as does the battle in front of the house. Wasting no time with this demanding spell, Izuya shows pep with a girlish jog-run as he moves quickly into the house to check the numbers of dead bodies there.

Eventually time resumes. On the outside, in the front of the meeting place, the Yokai growls at the male as the dust clears from him and he is shown as being only partially injured by the attack. By this time, Izuya would have found a safe spot to observe the battle from. Annoyingly enough, the ruckus would bring out neighbors who were not gang affiliated in numbers much too large to attempt to kill. He knew that the Division and that insistent Commissioner would be snooping around soon, not to mention the local law enforcement agency as well. It was time to clean things up… yet there was one last obstacle in the way before the job was done. High in the skies, Izuya chimes, “Fluffy, we’re leaving!” The large creature presses off of the ground and lifts into the air towards Izuya as it channels its energy. Izuya concentrates on Fluffy’s energy (Collaborative technique engaged) as he channels his void energy in a rare show of his offensive power. Flurry would glow with the blessings of the void shroud that would have a part in enhancing the technique to come. The male below grits his teeth as he comments, “not good…” He begins to make a run for it before he hears something. A young girl in the area called out for help. His gaze cuts immediately towards her as he gasps, “shit!” With a slight giggle, Izuya waves, “tah tah, Mr. Gangster.” Aim wasn’t the point here and the Yakuza member realizes that. Looking to the young girl, he warns, “get down!” He rushes towards her as Fluffy releases an attack combining a Fyrestryke with Clasm to create an explosive area attack that would light up that area. Izuya does not realize what the man is running to or notice the girl standing by the car until after the attack is released by his feline friend. "Ah?..."

The powered male would attempt to use himself as a shield in covering the young girl along with a weak barrier attack. The result mixed with his previous injuries would result in his death, but the buffering capabilities would be enough to allow the gun toting girl to live, granted she didn’t shoot him upon his rushing to her. Regardless of the outcome of the attack or how it played out on the ground, when the dust cleared, Izuya and the Yokai would no longer be there.

Encountering Megalomania MeiBoxTop
Even as she screams on the verge of what her lungs would permit, she doesn't let up. There is a raking sensation in her throat from excessive yelling. To be completely honest, it is debatable if she deems herself worthy of being alive at the moment. If her parents hadn't done what they'd done, there would have been conflict when attempting to get four people out of the house. Her sister; she couldn't even save her sister and she had to resort to the most crude and sickening methods just to cleanse the ten year old of her pain. Inevitably, she begins to break down, barely even heeding what is going on across the street. Laying her head against her car, her tears dab the glossy exterior of the vehicle. "Why is this happening! Why is this going on..?" She punches the car out of livid ire, causing a small dent, yet enough to set off her car alarm. "Why does this keep happening!" Her car is persistent to blare its alarm. She configures her keys with an unstable hand to shut it off. She is not in the right state of mind to even care about the the miniscule dent she'd imprinted into a small spot on the back of the car. Merely, it'd just resulted in her having less accessibility over that hand. Opening her eyes and looking around, eventually she notes the creature high in the skies, increasing altitude. The same figure she'd seen, the oddly nonchalant one, was with the beast. Of course, there is no way for her to cognize what is about to happen. Her lack of experience with this facet is blatantly apparent. Though, she is thankful she is blessed with sight; albeit barely, being able to slightly visually recognize this malefic entity would be enough. That beast caused all of this; she is oblivious to the possibility of an accomplice, and she can't make any hasty assumptions. Her eyes narrow, and she can physically feel her blood boiling from anger. By all means, she would remember what she has seen.

The sudden 'Get down!' in her direction surprises her, especially in her state. She falls rearwards, landing unpleasantly on the concrete of the driveway on her rear. A dumb look is upon her face as she looks towards the man charging towards her. The initial question forming in her mind is of course, what was he referencing. She finds herself pinned underneath a heavy weight, forcing her against the cement even more. Sprawled, her eyes close from her head smacking mildly against the pavement. Before she can even get out a question, the man seemed to have gotten there in the nick of time. She does lose her reinforced grip over the gun, but it still hangs loosely in her right hand's tenacious grasp. Everything goes white, so bright that even behind closed eyes everything lit up like the Northern Lights. Heat greets her immediately, but not to the extent it would have. Thanks to the meat shield and spectral barricade, there is little harm done to her besides being buffeted by dirt and other things netted by the explosion. In the aftermath the dust and debris clears. Her eyes slowly slide open, and several blinks are ensued. "...Mister?" She asks curiously, coughing violently. Her ribs and lungs buckle as she heaves from the inhaled dust and smoke. There is no response. Raising her bloodied and burnt left hand, she applies pressure to his neck and feels for the pulse. There is none. Tears are hasty to skate down her cheeks as she scantily manages to push the body off of her. There she had laid; her parent's house behind her in a massive conflagration, every one of them slain. Not to mention what could have been a friend laying dead adjacent to her. She is the only one alive still, though she is mingled thoroughly with the scent of blood, corpses, and soot. Thus, Mei notably smells like discarded bodies hauled onto a bonfire. For some reason, she sort of felt like it, too. That was the only thing that wasn't true at the time.

"Why did you do this for me..?" She asks the body in a ailed whimper. Needless to say, the question was senseless. She no longer has any doubts; even though she didn't want to voice it, she knows that whatever that was, she wants it dead. It'd been the second paranormal assault she'd witnessed in her life, and the most traumatizing. Mei found it impossible to know what she'd do from here. Take that on herself? As appealing as that sounded, she found it ineluctable; she would likely just end up as this man who had saved her had. But...

Izuya would be in the skies some distance from the events. His hand would be under the hairy chin of the large beast yokai who was submissive under his command. Using the mind controlling spell for too long was starting to become a nuisance, so it would be time to let fluffy go. Looking up to the large feline, he comments in a chirp, "time for you to head home now." With a light whimper, the large yokai fades into its spiritual form and wafts with a bit of speed towards the western forests. With that Izuya would lower his hand and return it to the pocket of his black fur lined jacket.

The attack had left its mark on the city. There was a scar on the area that was hit. Izuya could later say that was cause by a bomb when he would actively spread rumors about the event in the future. The explosion, along with what has happened before it, had bought out a mass of area residents who came around the effected area in order to see what happened. The police arrive on the scene, as well as emergency crews and firefigters. Life is noted as miraculous in the area, as the civil servants take note of a small girl among the destruction. Men covered in flame retardant suits rush to the girl's aide. Noticing the corpse near her, the men go to pull it away from her and check on her. "Are you okay? We need to get you to the hospital."

It was almost like a bullet in her head. This matter was deterring her thought process entirely. Whatever thoughts she can manage to mingle and grab at, she uses. She knows that nobody would believe anything that she said. She knows that nobody would believe that a monster came about and set her mother's house on fire, and was combating with a augmented man. The girl is partially in denial of what she has seen; she figures it all must be a dream. That it all is a hallucination that will go away. In her heart, however, it stings to know the pain, all of this, it is reality. If she could just wake up, and check her sisters room, and notice that she was okay, if that was conceivable by paying money, she would have done it. It is not, and that is the truth she has to endure. She has so many questions, like how exactly a lone man was the deterrence to keep her away from a bomb sized explosion. Questions such as, why was this happening and just what are these additional threats to mankind. For some reason, she has a feeling the people around her knew just as little as she did. Mei barely believes herself.

"My parents and little sister are dead! The house caught on fire...it..." She bites her lip, applying pressure to attempt to hold back the abundance of pooling tears. She isn't successful. "It wasn't normal! Nothing was. It wasn't a bomb, fireplace, lighter, or even a match..." Her white hair cascades and curtains her grim expression as she looks down towards her hands and legs; which were currently resting upon her lap. Mei wonders if her gun would be confiscated. Likely, and she doesn't doubt she'd be questioned for it. The female knows she'd have to limit the abnormal things she says about the matter, or else they'd probably throw her into some sort of mental institution. Though, she wasn't exactly in the state of mind for coherent thinking.

Her words would hit against the wall of rational thought as the workers seemingly understand. Two of the rescue workers stay with her while the others look for more survivors. Of those who stay with her, one of which places his hands on either of her shoulders as he levels his gaze with hers and informs her, “you’re in shock. Don’t worry, we’re going to get you some help.” The flames of her house would be reflecting off of the glassy visor on his helmet as it was lifted up allowing his face to be visible. The second worker placed a flame resisting blanket over her shoulders. The first rescue worker looks over her, noticing multiple injuries and it seemed as if she held burns on various portions of her body. Aside from that, her hands seemed oddly worn from where she had tried to rescue her sister. His gaze then shifts to notice the gun, and he gingerly reaches for it, stating, “You’re going to need to give me the gun…” His hand is gentle and slow as he reaches half way to her, motioning him to place it in his hand. In the background of all of this, fire crews pull out a long hose from one of the fire trucks that had pulled up. Bracing themselves, the first stream of watery foam takes to the house that once held the family. On the other side of the street, crews were rushing to control the spread of the flames. The police were busy keeping the crowds and neighbors away; the area was dangerous. Not only had the events attracted curious humans, but with so much activity around this area, the shochou would start to gather about, the passive harmless spirit symbols moving through the air in schools, like fish.

The medical term shock had barely registered in her mind. It was unfamiliar to her since she never exactly experienced it; of course she knew it was something about oxygen deprivation, and that could be highly plausible, especially now. Though, it didn't appear that he would take her words as sincere, despite her telling the utmost truth. If she were to elaborate about the spirits, the super powered man, and how it was a giant feline beast that breathed fire energy all over the house, her mental condition would just seem all the more unstable to them. They probably experienced this sort of thing all of the time, at least that was what she felt. Though, abiding by her previous anticipation, she is asked for the gun. She didn't need it at the moment, but she still felt almost attached to it, like now, knowing of the threats around at least this district, she had to depend on it. She wonders if they would take it away permanently or temporarily. It was, however, registered to her. Thank god for that it wasn't an illegal weapon, for that would make it even worse. Gingerly, she hands him the gun, her hands quivering and trembling as she hands him the firearm. She keeps her fingers far away from the trigger to establish she had no hostile intent whatsoever. The only thing she wanted at the moment, the thing to prioritize over figuring out what just happened and wanting to kill whatever caused it, was being safe and alive. It was true; she really did need a hospital.

"O-Okay." She doesn't bother to go into in depth elaboration as to why she brought along the gun. Shochou, something moderately familiar to her, seem to be amalgamating. She is beginning to get this eccentric feeling, almost like a 'sense' to alert her. Yet, for now it is dull and she barely even notices it. It is as though she realizes something is 'hidden', but the feeling is so miniscule at the moment she can barely decipher it as a feeling. She just knows of it, and she gets even more terrified of the situation. "Wha...What's going to happen?" She appears confused to some extent. She'd be taken to the hospital, yes, but what after?

As the gun is handed over, the male takes it and carries it back with his hand to the second male who secures it within his grasp and goes to deliver it to the police for the time being. “Good… thank you,” the first male would coax the young girl with a soft expression on his face. This brows shift in worry as he comments, “don’t worry, we have some nice people that are going to take care of you and get you patched up…” As if on cue, he motions towards an emergency van, further away from where they were at a few yards, where preparations were being taken to get a place ready to receive the girl. A temporary padded mobile bed would be ready in case they needed to take it out to her, assumed she didn’t have the strength to make it to the vehicle, or had any broken bones or fractures that she didn’t know about. The young lady’s current position in proximity to the house and amidst settling ash and soot was still considered a place of danger as it was between two burning buildings. Preceding the mobile bed, a young man in his early twenties with short brown hair and in a male nurse’s uniform comes to the side of the rescue worker and Mei as gives her his attention on arrival and asks, “are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere? Can you move this way with me?” The rescue worker would back up some to allow the medical team to assist her before he would continue his job of assisting tending to the fires. If able to assist her, the rescue worker would either walk Mei over to the medical bed waiting for her or call the others by it to bring it out to her to get her on it and rolled back to the rescue vehicle for immediate treatment and transport. Behind them, the fire fighters were doing a good job of keeping the fire at bay and from spreading too far into the neighboring areas. During this process, the wandering spirits would move about the area, some even passing across the faces of the individuals helping her, going unnoticed by the humans around her.

Mei gives a small smile in response. It is pretty pleasant, but anyone at the moment, in her situation, it would be hard to give direly humble responses. With the generosity she is receiving, her normal kind idiosyncrasies were still intact, surprisingly. "Thank you." She says in response, nodding in his direction. Having lost her adrenal rush, her entire body is aching. The heat and smoke had made her breath short, and she feels like she has a fever, on her entire body. Her hands sting and throb just as her head is at the moment, and not to mention there is an actual serious agony in her shoulder. She remembers back when she pushed through the weak door, but ended up landing on the driveway on her shoulder. Of course, that had dealt its damage, and she feared some sort of dislocation, or maybe even a fracture. She is still taking note of this 'hidden' feeling. Smell, taste, sight, touch, hearing, they were all physical senses that she, to her knowledge, has. Yet, there is this other feeling that she has. It is much like a sense; perhaps an additional 'sense' is what she'd acquired with all of this spiritual exposure. To make the feeling sharper, she concentrates on it a bit, and notes that she can feeling it as though it were as distinct as any other sense. However, it isn't very frequent, until now. She just knew that things were 'hidden', and it is gradually growing more and more.

She is brought out of her thoughts as she is approached. She needs to talk to said nice people so she can get her mind off of the body of the man who saved her, and her dead family, and all of this mess. Although, these feelings that something is near were making her jittery, and she can barely tolerate knowing that these creatures exist at all. These persistent demons, whatever they are, need to be dealt with. Deep down she knows it may be a selfish feeling, but there is a insistent vengeance she craves. This couldn't happen to anymore people, it would be a tragedy if these things just freely roamed around. But who would deal with them? She looks towards the approacher. She pulls herself up to a standing position, stumbling a bit, but she is gladdened to have some support from the medical team. "My hands are burned, and I've got some cuts...but the most of the pain is in my shoulder. I fell on it while getting out of the house..." She frowns, wincing slightly as she actually realizes the damage inflicted on her. "I can move, though...somewhat." She reassures as she follows along. She is obedient to be assisted onto the medical bed and does so willingly. Though, she does notice the strange things seemingly swimming around. Why don't they see them! They're right in front of their faces! She thinks to herself. She cradles her head with her hands as she lay on the medical bed.

They all probably just think it's shock! But it's right there. I seen what happened with my own eyes. It wasn't a hallucination. But why, why is it just me that can see these things? That man who saved me could see them too; is it selective? If he seen it and fought it, I know I'm not crazy! Whatever these are, they're not human. Why can't these...these things... Mei develops a grave headache as she continues to cradle her head with her hands. At least the medical bed is comforting. Why can't these things just die! Her expression is tainted extremely grim. "Someone has seen them, right? Is it really just me..?" She asks the nearest medical assistant wearily.

The mobile bed consisted of a slender metallic frame consisting of several rods with wheels at the bottom and a soft pastel blue mattress set upon a platform supported by the frame. There at the mobile bed near the emergency vehicle, there were three more in the medical team that was awaiting her arrival; another male and two females in similar attire as the first man. The bed would be slid up into the emergency vehicle, the legs folding as it seemingly slides right into place in the rear portion of the large vehicle. The medical team would follow aboard in their treating her. The scenes and chaos of the outside would be closed out by the shutting of the doors. One of the young ladies in the medical team looks over her after she lies on the bed, seemingly cradling her head. Attempting not to disturb her too much, the female notices the shoulder that she seemed to be putting the least amount of pressure on and felt around the arm for signs of a dislocation. While she was doing this, the male in front of Mei would be actively listening to her and attempting to keep her attention to answer her questions. He answers, “we’re not sure if there are any other survivors, but we’re looking.” Of course, he assumes that she was asking if she were the only witness to the events which had occurred. The lady inspecting the shoulder presses down upon it, attempted gingerly, but firmly as she discovers, “we have an anterior dislocation on this shoulder here. We’re going to have to manually relocate.” While he’s saying this, one of the males on the side behind her prepares a morphine like pain killer in a needle. One of the nurses pulls down on her garments and cleans the area where the needle would be going, near the back muscle holding the dislocated shoulder. The body is shifted just enough for the male to attempt to slide the needle into the skin and inject the anesthesia. If successful, the body is returned to its resting position while they way for the drugs to take effect, hopefully causing much of the pain she may be feeling in her body to subside with an added effect of drowsiness. The male addressing Mei looks up to the nurse before down to her and informs, “We’re going to have to reset your shoulder. We need to place your arm into a resting position. Stay lying down, it might be easier for you like this…” With that, he would lean over her and bend her elbow slightly across her body as he took a firm grasp of Mei’s arm. He rotates the arm and shoulder inward and towards the chest to make an “L” shape. He rotates the shoulder out into the joint pops into place which should bring relief immediately before he would release the arm to stay in a resting location. Somewhere along this time line, the vehicle would have started moving in its path towards the hospital.

Mei grimly realizes that she, and her saviour, had been the only ones to actually perceive those things. Or so she'd thought. Additional bad news, he was dead. She believed that he was probably the only one who could have given her coherent responses when she asked about these things. With departure away from the hellfire, she hopes that getting away from there would make her see less of those enigmatic creatures. She couldn't come to the conclusion that they were spirits, yet. She could only make humane, farfetched assumptions. It didn't change that humans and whatever they were didn't mingle well. On the bright side, she is strangely relieved. Since they assumed she meant something else, at least it didn't seem like she was crazy. As much as it would have. She didn't want to know how she would act towards herself now if she were talking to herself from the past. Honestly, she'd figures she'd consider herself a lunatic! Who wouldn't? I can't believe this. I'm going to end up like one of those people ranting about the end of all the living I bet. Sitting in an old chair in my room 'guarded' by someone to assure I don't kill myself, I bet. At least she was happy that these people were friendly enough. If they hadn't been, she doesn't exactly know what her reactions would have been. The same, or if they would have differentiated. Mei was a fan of Doctor checkups, though. They solved problems in a gentle, positive way. She can feel her shoulder having a firm pressure applied to it. A tender location, she winces, indicating that it was definitely the spot. The term 'relocate' makes her a tad bit nervous. Knowing people who could dislocate and relocate their arm, it didn't seem that bad; unless she couldn't do that, and her dislocation was forced, and she wasn't used to it, those were just the few reasons why she fears it would hurt. Injected with some sort of painkiller, she can identify it as such when the pain is promptly numbed. She gets drowsy, and with additional instruction, she obediently lowers her arms into resting positions. She no longer has her hands upon her head.

Mei actually observes the process. With the drowsiness and lack of sensation, her arm easily shifts into the position necessary, no problems encountered. When it is rotated back into place, the painkiller does wonders to limit the feeling she felt to only the relief in the aftermath. A suspiration of relief escapes her lips as she no longer feels that dire tension in her shoulder. "Will...some people talk to me about the incident...or something?" She breathes exhaustedly. She is curious to know since she is hoping someone else would know about what she actually saw. Who knows what the event would be announced as.

“Okay, it is back in place,” the female informs the others as they were making other preparations to prepare Mei for the emergency room. She would have to be hooked up and her vitals checked in order to assure her condition. The visible wounds would be obvious enough, but with no real understanding of what all she went through in order to get like this, they could not take any chances. The male in front of her is slightly distracted as her question comes in. Issuing orders to prepare to clean all of her wounds, he looks back down at her and says, “yes, eventually, but rest now. You must be tired… the shot we gave you should help you with getting to sleep; you should feel much better when you wake up. We’re taking you into East City’s Memorial Hospital.” Her sleepy voice would aid in his ability to overlook small questions here and there while attempting to get her cleaned and treated. Now that she was calm and tranquilized, they could get to work on treating her; it no longer was important to keep her calm, the meds would work on that. Her finger is placed into a monitor and the male nurse reports, “monitoring vitals now. Let’s get an IV into her to balance her fluids.” One of the female nurses comments, “I’m on it as she prepares the spot in Mei’s for arm.” The other female would have her back turns to her as she prepares a yellowish saline solution and gauze that would be used to clean the wound and softly rinse and scrape out dirt and foreign particles. The male who was speaking to Mei would softly move his hands about her hair and check for any contusions or scratches. Their voices should start to get softer and softer as the anesthetics coursed through her body.

Knowing that she'd feel better after getting some sleep, especially in her current state, is reassuring. The former statement establishes that they would have her talk to some people; she currently doesn't know if that's a good or bad thing. They were nice enough to tell her about the properties of the drug she was given, rather than her have ended up going to sleep and unsure of the cause. Almost challenging the drug, she wondered how much time it would take before it forcefully put her underneath a spell of slumber. There were so many things to think about, but along with her drowsy speech, her thought process was beginning to decelerate as well. She almost felt as though her perception of time was being configured with. Mei couldn't necessarily heed what they were doing, along with their voices, everything seemed to gradually, yet quickly, dull and soften. Even that strange feeling she'd been in the process of acquiring, that had seemed to fade with the other amalgamation of diminishing sensations. Unable to feel the cuts being cleaned, she does subtly notice that her hair was being gone through. It was almost like one of those lice check-ups in grade school. She wonders if she had any head injuries; she didn't recall hitting her head, but the general problem with head injuries is, of course remembering would be deterred when the brain is facing deterrence. Whilst conscious, she knew that she'd inhaled quite a bit of smoke, and that wasn't good. The heat, and the smoke, she heard that in high dosages those could be more lethal than the fire itself. Which was why she attempted to get out of there as quickly as possible. It is impossible to prolong her period of consciousness any longer, however. Her eyes steadily begin to shut, inching closed. Everything would fade to a conclusive black for her; she never knew how long these things lasted for. Likely related to the potency of the injection. At this point of time, the fact that she'd truly fallen asleep is obscure to her. Mei probably needed it more than anything.
