The Battle Above Mandira Domenmenbio_01
The Battle Above Mandira
Location: Past Realm, Mandira, Skies

I had come to Mandira with my servant and right hand, Paco, in order to investigate an invitation that was heralded by one of their messengers during the time of the previous war of deception that had caused a ruckus amongst the lands of the past realm. After arriving to this place, I found myself introduced to the Lord of these lands and invited to dine with him. Mutually beneficial for various purposes, I came to realize that this Mukhya knew of the Pillars of whom I was hunting. With that discovery, a trade agreement was confirmed between our lands and I proceeded to offer him an invitation to battle with me. Much to my pleasure that offer was accepted without delay or recourse.

His words were ‘yes, let us test each other,’ and with that as he prepared to leave the room, I stood, allowing my golems to return to their upright humanoid forms as I proceeded with the entourage of them and Paco to the outside. Kaelas, the large demonic tiger that had been waiting for my exiting of the building that we were in, looks up as he senses the procession that led out of the command center. From his lying position, he would stand curiously as I exited the building structure and took into the skies to accompany my opponent in this test of strength. Since he pleased me, destroying him was not an objective, but I did plan on thoroughly testing his merits in battle.

My body ascends to heights journeyed by birds as I level out at about the same height in the air as Mukhya. I would be floating passively about 20 or so yards away from him; my arms are folded at my chest as my stoic gaze leveled to my opponent. The sea would be to my back as I would be furthest from the actual lands of his domain. I knew my powers would easily overflow and affect his lands, so I allowed myself to be mindful of this since he accepted my offer to battle. My body prepares itself for battle as my muscle tone becomes a bit more defined with a slightly noticeable bulk in my form with a light deep crimson aura permeating the air about my form (Onikoujou - Average > Onihumetransformation - Strong). Shadows swirl at my side and condense into the Caladbolg Broadsword that stays within the confines of its sheath for now. As far as my audience went, my golems would proceed to the edge of the waters and gaze up. Paco would hover in the air at a length of several dozen yards with Kaelas following him, and sporadically trying to eat him, so that they could watch without getting in the way of the battle.

Observing his glow with my gaze on him, I would inquire upon my knowledge of the race, “I am curious, are you a Kami?”

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyTue Jan 18, 2011 5:57 pm

As he lifts into the air, my eyes close. My breathing slows to a calm rhythm as my armor forms and my tail releases from my waist and the tailmayze covers it as armoring more than anything. The Demonbone Breastplate covers my upper body. Underneath the breastplate and now out of sight, Lucia's Pendant rests against my flesh. Lucia... I can ill afford to think of such thoughts right now. Silver energy starts to radiate off of my form as my eyelids raise like a symbolic curtain to begin the first act of a play. They reveal glowing orbs sharpened for battle. (Kamihume + Krodha Transa). The different emotions associated with battle for me cause my senses to titillate with energy. Normally, I would use this time to activate my other more passive powers but I first want to test myself against him without them. I want to see how I would fare against him without the use of all of my powers. This should be interesting.

Looking over at him when the question is posed, I nod slowly to him. "Yes, I am a kami of the Kunashi Cadre. Shall we begin?" There was not much to say to be honest. I would offer him the first attack though. Battle gives one much insight into their opponents. His personality suggests that he would be very aggressive in battle. I wonder if that is a facade meant to lure his opponent into a trap of false prejudice.

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyTue Jan 18, 2011 7:03 pm

I take the confirmation of my suspicions with a nod; it mattered not if he was an Oni or a Kami but this at least let me know that he should have a natural tendency to follow the rules of order along with other Kami stereotypes. I didn’t hold hatred towards either race as I held them to be both equally beneath that of a god. After I witness him take his preparations for the battle, I complete mine. I murmur lightly for the dark essence to empower my form as my battle preparations are completed. With this incantation, dark energy, the demonic manifestation of my might, begins to burn and radiate from my body in vapors before creating a dark mist that billows from, encloaks and surrounds my form on all side at a matter of several feet (Miasma, range based on roll). I would give no indication that this mist was anything other than my own power radiating from my body. Knowing that he could speak into my mind, my body automatically prepares itself to resist mental distractions (Mental Defense). With that, and my body tense for battle, I attack.

Surrounded by the dark aura of a mist, my body projects itself forth towards him at an average rate of speed with a simplistic beginning attack. I would be en route to perform a simple enough normal punch that would be aimed at his face. My attention would be on his bodily movements and mannerisms during this process fully expecting a parry or counter attack. Of course, if he simply stood there, I would not hesitate to deck him the face on arrival to his body with a swinging right armed hook aimed at his left cheek.

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyTue Jan 18, 2011 8:07 pm

The dark shadows emanating from his form would be a clear enough sign to his race and nature so I would not have to return the question. Now would be the time to formulate a strategy. I could very easily lead off with a powerful attack to try and break his spirit, but this is merely a friendly spar amongst new allies. As he charges forward with his punch, I see no reason to dodge it at the moment. My body starts glowing as soon as he moves forward, but I would not move from my position. I wait until he gets close enough before my mind would release the energy, "Tērā ātmā bāhara cīra!" An invisible beam would release from my body to intercept Domen's path of travel. (Soul Ripper) Should it connect, the following sight would bring quite the pleasant feeling to my being. After all, I could repair any damage done, but he did not know that. He speaks of fighting against the Pillars and while he boasts that he had fared quite well against them, I wanted to be sure since I was throwing my hand in with him in terms of battling against them. In order to improve the possibility of a successful hit, I still do not move. I would lure him in... I cough as my thoughts are interrupted by an intense pain that I had felt in years! The coughing continues as my body would glow again as I draw upon the powers of the light. "Expel the taint of darkness!" {Spiraga} I gasp for air as the light would engulf me quickly. I hate and I mean I absolutely hate being cursed by demons!

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyThu Jan 20, 2011 9:18 pm

It worked to my benefit that my opponent felt no need to dodge my punch; it allowed me to understand his concept and confidence of his own strength. In order for him to stand there until I got close, I knew that he had to be either dumb or have great confidence in his combat ability. As a warrior, I had already opted for the choice that he must know what he was doing in battle and was experienced enough to have this poise. Still, as previously mentioned, I was fully ready for a counter attack of some kind and luckily I was not disappointed. I was forming a good opinion of his battle skills. It was up to me to imprint onto him a good impression of me as well.

I was given favor due to the fact that he did not move for the attack he performed on my body. Due to the thickness of my Miasma, visibility could have been affected, meaning that if he had moved there was a greater chance that my technique could have worked against me. It was also favorable for me that the effects of the miasma brought him pain, caused a slight mental interrupt as well as the coughing. I felt every moment and reaction in battle was important. In contrast to him, I had never accepted the burden of pain nor would I start to. Because of this, my battle flow would go uninterrupted and my initial attack would be unaffected by his attack on me (Juggernaut, Passive). With that information and given the flow of battle, the punch that I performed should have connected before he would be able to complete the mental chant and channeling for his Spiraga spell thus interrupting it.

As for the continuation of my attack for this post, the confirmation of the first punch would coax a second, combination follow up punch aimed for the face. Of course, if miraculously I felt no pressure on my first with the first punch, then that would not happen. Whereas the first punch would be performed in a manner that wasn’t meant to push my opponent back, though it would obviously force at least a cheek turn, the second punch would be more of a finishing type punch, performed in a manner that should push the target back and away for a distance depending on the power behind the punch and the opponent’s ability to resist said punch in the air.

Up to here, the main point of interest to me would be Muhkya’s ability to perform the invisible attack on my personage which he did.

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyMon Jan 24, 2011 8:10 pm

I must say that I am impressed when I feel fist upon my face. It would be met with a harder surface than may have been originally expected. Spiraga had worked just in the nick of time as the feeling of his fist connecting with me goes from potentially being quite unpleasant to a mere connection. (Juggernaut ^_^) He was able to withstand the Soul Ripper attack without sound of pain and of that I am impressed for sure. It would seem that our strength is well matched which works to disprove a misconception that I have possessed for quite some time. I used to think that the chaos granted more strength than order, but it merely fuels us differently. That is good to know. When the follow up comes, he would not find me standing in front of him any longer. Utilizing the Krodha Transa, I dash to his rear right, my forward left, to get a better position on him.

Wasting no time to allow him to sense me, I attempt to seize this opportunity to attack not the demon's body, but his ability. That makes far more sense in this test. My body glows faintly as my mind chants, "Your skills become child's play." {Hinder} Pressing forward to weaken him further, I would attempt to chant a second spell of hindrance. "Let your body become brittle." {Rend Armor}

I would test the effects of the weakening powers in a moment, but I needed to formulate a proper plan for the next few attacks. I have an idea of what I want to bait him into doing, but he seems to live for battle, so it will have to be a formidable strategy.

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyTue Jan 25, 2011 8:09 pm

Spoiler:
I feel my fist hit nothingness with my second punch and realize that my opponent had done well to react and evade between consecutive punches. I would register this as him having already known that his attack would not harm me, which would explain his ability to respond so well; this much was good and I would match him on this aspect. After my fist hit nothing I would be shrouded in the darkness of the cursed cloud making it hard to see me and the same in regard to me to him. Still, I would know, externally, that he had had not distanced himself away from me (Golem observation). Guestimating his pattern of attack and anticipating the continuation of a close ranged attack, I am quick to respond in a manner that required no chanting or build up time and would kind of be a flashy show of power even if he were not where he was in proximity to me. Simply standing erect, power is pushed away from my form in all directions (Exert, Strong). Since he was not braced for the technique, with his defenses halved, it would both push him back as well as interrupt his spells before they are gotten off. It would also cause the Miasma cloud to explode like a bubble on a wide scale, thus reducing the thickness of the miasma. With this, the air would be cleared for a moment, but my back would still be to him. Though not looking directly at him, I would still be observing him.

OOC:
Energy seemed to press off of him and as it does, I find my body floating backwards. There was no pain to be felt, simply that his mere show of energized force was able to move me. Respect and playfulness gives way to strategy as I speak aloud, "That was impressive." I dash forward, which if he turns around, would put me in a similar position. To his right and either behind him or at his 3 o' clock position. I should be roughly 20-25 feet away from him. I choose again not to attack but instead wait to allow him the next move. I wanted to see how he would react. Also, I need time to gather more spiritual energy for my next attack. My energy continues to purify itself as it builds inside of me, waiting to be unleashed. Drawn out battles are never fun and often quite costly, two things I wish to avoid.

Spoiler:
After the exert there would be no attack, and though is movement towards me in a rapid manner, I would not react to him just yet. There was no reason to, though I did have a reaction in mind. I had no knowledge of the spells he attempted to caste on me, and having pushed them away with my strength, I did not feel their weakening affects. My back would still be to him, and as he neared me, the smoky black miasma would only grow stronger, growing a dark cloud about my body as he got closer and closer.

PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyTue Feb 01, 2011 6:27 pm

Spoiler:

Intrigued for a moment, the show of force caused me to pause my spells for a moment. That delay proved to be more of an annoyance as the miasma closes back in on him. In my mind, I relax my thoughts as my mind renews its assistance in controlling my powers. Looking directly into the cloud, I attempt to lock onto the demon lord's spirit signature. If I am able to do so, this will allow me to target him much easier even when I can't visually see him because of the mist. I want to just dispel the damn mist, but I must not give away the trump cards unless absolutely necessary.

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyTue Feb 01, 2011 7:19 pm

From his movements, it didn’t seem like he was moving towards me after gaining his proximity to my rear. I knew that if I stood idle for too long, then I could temp him to gain the advantage of a hidden attack. The fact that I hadn’t been attacked yet was a bit of a disappointment, but I understood his position in this battle. From my opponent, I knew he had the ability to attack invisibly or in a manner that I could not see due to the first attack I had taken and I would remember that well.

The growing Miasma would work to cut my visibility of him, much like it would do the same for him to me. The cloud would have grown in a manner that it would not engulf Mukhya and he would have time to distance himself from it if needed. The fog was nothing more than a feign in itself, if anything, simply a manifestation of my power that proved sufficient for battle at times. I did observe that this demon did not seem to be weakly affected by it like others were. It was not a crutch as I was aware that there were types of demons who could sense where others where, much like Paco. Something told me from the battle so far that this demon which I was sparring with might be one of the types with that skill. Truthfully, the only reason I did not have that particular skill set was because I felt as if didn’t need it. Still the side effect of the fog would be to hide me physically and completely.

As to show off a bit, I would make it so that if he could sense me, I would know it by his reaction. I would bellow aloud, audibly enough for Mukhya to hear, “I wonder, will your sense be thrown off by this cloud?” With that, my energy signal would begin to spread and disperse amongst the 25 foot cloud of darkness. After visibility was cut off, my body would break apart and disintegrate into an amorphous swarm of tiny variants of locus. Unlike their larger variety, their size would be reduced to the point where the buzz one would expect to hear from insects would not be evident, unless one were actually inside the cloud. From there, I would observe how he reacts to my energy signal shifting from a localized body into the entire cloud.

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyTue Feb 01, 2011 8:15 pm

Standing on the outer edge of the demonic cloud, I notice that it seems to get slightly darker and there are little dots or something flying around inside. While my initial instinct is to escape from the cloud, I choose, instead, to use the cover provided by the mist to go slightly deeper in... to the center of the cloud. My body would glow faintly, most of its radiance engulfed by the dark mist, as my thoughts focus on the task at hand, harnessing energy. Speaking aloud, I tease, "Come out, come out, wherever you are." I expect to be attacked at some moment, so I brace myself as I harness the energy necessary to turn the tide of this encounter. Once I feel I have enough energy drawn to me, the mental command would accompany a glowing star lined symbol beneath me, "Atma Visphota." My glowing eyes would shine brightly throughout the dark cloud as ripples of radiant spiritual energy flow from me to cover an area of 25 feet. What surprises me with my own power is the fact that I feel a sort of blessing come over the area as I release the rippling shockwaves of energy. I find myself at peace with everything in this battle. Hoping that the dome of spiritual energy would provide clear visibility for once, I prepare to press the attack against my adversary.

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyWed Feb 02, 2011 12:03 am

From within the cloud, I observe Mukhya as he enters as well. With that, the trap is set and he meets my expectations. Instead of running away from the ominous cloud he moves towards it. This mannerism he held was confirming the preconceptions I was building on him. A weaker person may have run from the threat of the unknown, but I acknowledged that Mukhya ventured forth into it with purpose. Outside of the cloud, I would be unable to attack him, since I could not use other abilities while in the shape shifting technique, so it was good that he did come. I felt that it must have been my will’s providence that brought this new sparring partner into my knowledge. As one of his seemingly confident ability would do, he proceeds to the center of the cloud which led me to believe that he knew I wasn’t there. He hadn’t answered overtly whether he could sense or not, but I would lean more to believing that he could versus he could not, given his actions of recklessness.

Filling up the entire cloud with myself in this shape shifting technique, I feel when my parts brush against Mukhya. I am able to see him when his body illuminates in proximity to the portions of my being near him. I observe that my opponent did not seem to rush in though he did seem purposeful. I wouldn’t think for him to venture into here without some type contingency plan. I felt this much was good. Since he was in without me having to chase him, I would not hold the shape shifting technique longer than needed.

In the flow of events, as Mukhya is making his way to the center of the cloud, I anticipate an attack of some kind. My body reforms in front of him, granting his wish when he speaks for me to ‘come out;’ my right hand reaches for the sword at my hip. I was chancing the case that if he were using signature, he might think that I was trying to trick him… or on the other hand he would know exactly where I was: in front of him not too far away. Either way, it did not matter since he wasn’t actually tracking my energy signal anymore, though I did not know this. My body would brace with anticipation (MToughness & Toughness); his chanting and glowing allows me to better know where exactly he was in the last moments as I thrust just at him just after or during the time his attack would initiate and explode, blasting away the cloud of Miasma that had been around us.

The air would be clear, though the attack would not have blasted me away (Juggernaut). I would have endured the blast and be set positioned within weapon melee range of Mukhya with my sword aimed to stop a few liberal inches from beneath his chin, held in my right arm with my side casually to him standing straight up. An odd suit of armor would be retreating from my form, having manifested at the time of the blast. Though the waves of purification washed away the clouds, the dark cursed blade in my hand kept me from accepting his blessings. Still, he outputted a good amount of power that I could respect. He completely shattered my miasma and purified it somehow. I speak, “good, Kami. I see the confidence you have in your power and understand how you came to lead this island.” If things had progressed to this point, then I would have obtained a better understanding of Mukhya than I would have been able to in a seated meeting.

Having released such power, the pace at which my breathing repeats quickens as the excitement takes hold. He was far more durable than I had expected. I find myself honestly quick surprised that he did not fall before my Atma Visphota. Perhaps he truly is an equal to me. Looking at him, my eyes show my surprise as they cease their glowing for a moment. I exit the Krodha Transa when he speaks and nod to him with a grin. "You possess substantial power yourself, Lord Domen. I am glad that we got the opportunity to test one another. At least now I know that you won't just get in the way when we next encounter the Pillars in battle." That last bit is said with a smirk as it is more jest than anything else. "Would you like to continue or shall we both return to leading our people?" It did not matter to me either way if we continued to spar or if we parted ways. The business meeting was successful and I found areas to improve within my battle regimen. There is much work to be done before I face off against a Pillar again. I will ensure that my battle prowess is far improved before that time comes...

“Hmm…” comes the response to his jest. He would soon come to learn of my socially awkward personality and the special way I responded to humor with no response. I did understand the meaning of his words, however, and I nod, judging them to be fine. With his question, I lower the sword and return it to its place at my side. There was no need to go further than this with an ally; I saw what I needed to in him. If I had not been challenged at all, I would have simply killed him and performed the favor of taking care of his people for him. Much had been done today, but with the time left in the day, I would still want to tend to other things. I conclude, “The time allotted for this meeting has been well spent.” My large arms lift and fold at my chest as I continue, “You are welcome to visit Domenance at any time; if you come you shall receive my good graces as I have here.” Shifting towards me swiftly, Paco and Kaelas seemed to read that the match was over. After approaching from their distance, Paco reaches to my side swiftly pulling out a bottle of water from wherever fairies pull things from. He calls out, “Mi’lord.” My hand reaches to the side as the bottle comes to it and I have a sports drink moment.

CGI kicks in as the camera angle is beneath me with the blazing sun in the distance above and at a diagonal. Small beads of perspiration cause my body to give off a sport’s glow in this moment. My body is covers by a slight shadowy tint as my head leans back while bringing the bottle of water to my lips. The long platinum strands upon my head flows freely brushing off my back and shoulder in the soft passing ocean’s breeze. The clear bottle’s contents decrease as my throat pulsates with each gulp. After emptying the bottle, it is removed from my lips and lowered as I emit a resounding “ahhhh” and tilt my head back to level.

The Battle Above Mandira Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Battle Above Mandira   The Battle Above Mandira EmptyWed Feb 02, 2011 9:48 pm

With business concluded, I nod and thank him for his invitation. The Fairy General and large feline beast arrive. Neither of us had been wounded or given substantial ground. He was accurate in his words. The meeting time had been well spent. Mandira now had a new trade ally and with time, we could grow to complete allies in both economic and military affairs. Plans had been set in motion for Adrian and creating peace with one spirit and a relationship of necessity with the other, I could ensure Adrian's security and with it that of my people. As he consumes the water, I remain in my thoughts until I sense my little brother looking for me. Nodding to Domen and his companions, I speak, "You are welcomed to spend some time here in Mandira before making the journey back. As for me, I must return to matters of administration. I hope our next meeting is as enjoyable as this one." My body seems to emit a bright golden light. As the light begins to overtake my form, I drop the energy harnessing and drop out of the sky in a free fall. I land softly on the ground and am joined by Adrian who wishes to discuss business. I stop and look back up to the sky before continuing our walk towards the Temple Ruins.

My gaze lowers back to the Mandiran as he speaks. My right hand moves to the side as I hand the water bottle back off to Paco who takes it and stores it away. With a nod, I accept his words and his departure. In lieu of his exodus I pass the credence, “we shall return back to Domenance.” At times like this, it would be nice if one of us were able to teleport, but such things like distance were only small thing in comparison to my will. With that Paco asks if he should transform. I advise him that was fine. He understands, and instead of that, he castes his hasting abilities on us to increase our attributes. After turning in the direction of Domenance, I lead as we head in the direction of Domenance at top speed.
