A Mother, Hina Hanazawa, a father, Haro Hanazawa, and a younger brother Tori Hanazawa. Maes parents top renowned Doctors and business people. The younger brother following into the path that their parents set for him.

While Maes on the other hand decided to go on his own path because of this he became a Black Sheep to the family. Of course he kept his top marks, but instead of going into the family business he went on his own serving time in the military. Entering into the military in his late teens early twenties he was gone for quite a few years before he finally returned back to the city to fight in that last Spiritual attack upon the city.

During the attack Maes suffered a fatal blow, but was rescued by a scientist by the name of Ijin Mitsukai as she used a secret program she was working on, upon him. Project A.B.E. [Atomic Bio-molecular Expir] To this day, Maes lives a happy and normal life able to work as he use to.
