Day Date (Shiori)

Subject: Day Date (Shiori) Sun Mar 15, 2009 6:30 pm

The next day came. The previous morning, or late night, I had spoken on the phone with the girl I met from the Moonbucks Café. Today was the day that we were supposed to meet up. The morning is started off a bit later than usual, due to my lack of sleep and current night work lifestyle. After getting up, cleaning up and showering and then getting dressed, I am reminded that it is breakfast time by my miniature roommate. Moving from my room, I go into the second room of the apartment and open the closet, taking out his feed and then crouch and fill up his bowl. After that, I pick up a water bottle next to his water bowl, and unscrew the top, pouring it into the bowl to refill it. After that, I screw the cap back on and set it to the side. He comes beneath my hand for a few pets, before he moves to the food to start his breakfast. Since I would probably be eating in some manner with Shiori, I have a small breakfast and a warm cup of tea while watching television and waiting for time to pass. When the time comes up head out, I get my wallet and put on my shoes near the front door. I am dressed in a pair of black slacks and a matching casual buttoned up shirt untucked with the top buttons undone and a white tee shirt beneath. I open the door and turn around to the small kitten that sits in front of the door to see me off. “Don’t pee on the bed…” I order him. His head tilts to the side, then he falls over and rolls on his back. I nod, “right.” I step out into the hallway and my hands move into the pockets of my slacks then proceed to make my way to the elevator. Once in it, I go down stairs, exit the apartments, and begin my way towards Moonbucks. 335

Yume reply to my note to her on my date had made me smile for the rest of class. She was protective and hated that I tended to get used by my boyfriends. I was more than a pair of tits and an ass. When class ends I leave and give her a kiss on the cheek. She still had another class while I was free for the rest of the day since Takuto would be taking over today's practice. I put my laptop away and head out of class and back toward our apartment. I had to get ready. And a shower was so in order. I catch the bus just outside the campus. It takes me about fifteen minutes to reach my stop, my headphones in my earphones as I wait. Without much thought I climb off the bus and walk the short distance to our apartment. I take the stairs two at a time and then reach our floor and head to our door and open the door with my key. I hum to my music as I close the door behind me and lock it again before toeing off my shoes and pad into our apartment. I set my messenger bag on the table and go to my room, already tugging my clothes off. I enter my room and toss my clothes in the hamper. I then snatch up my towel and go to the bathroom to hop into the shower.

It takes me a total of one hour to be ready. I'm not one who spends forever to get ready. I put my hair up in a cute bun, letting strands curl stylishly around my face, my make up done lightly, giving a natural look to it. I pick a pair of hip hugger jeans with a butterfly design along with a slightly low cut blouse that matches the jeans, looking cute since the cut of the blouse fits my figure perfectly. I place a cute butterfly hair clip in my hair, holding back a couple of strands. My jewelry consists of my pentacle, a pair of dangling butterfly earrings, my cute butterfly watch and a couple of plain silver bangles. I grab my cute designer purse and make sure I have my cell, wallet and a couple of feminine essentials (comb, mirror, lipstick, ect...). I grab my keys from the table and head out the door. I smile, right on schedule. I close and lock the door and then race down the stairs, the smile not leaving as I head to the subway station near our apartment. Its one now. I make it to the station just in time and get on.

It doesn't take long before I'm stepping off at the Gothstone terminal. I head up and into the sunshine. I smile again, headphones once more in my ears as I nearly skip over to Moonbucks. Its close to the station and I make it in only a couple of minutes. I step in and wave to my co workers, pulling out one headphone to place my order. I get a venti, caramel mocha latte, with skim milk and an extra shot of espresso for myself and I order a venti cafe americano with no room for Jyn. Mia looks at me suspicious at the second drink but I ignore her and walk over to the hand off counter and wait a moment for Li to make my order. He smiles at me as he hands me both drinks and I thank him before heading to the outside seating area and taking a seat in the sunshine. I put my other headphone bud back into my ear and relax in my seat as I wait for Jyn to arrive. I pull out my handheld electronic book holder and turn it on and to where I had left off on. I was reading a book called Dark Prince, a romance novel dealing with supernatural males finding their soul mates. I was a sucker for this stuff. I loved romantic notions. Also praying I would find a man who would be romantic and surprise me with the things I would read about. Hey... A girl could dream.

It’s a casual stroll to the Moonbucks café. It was a nice day out and for some reason I was in a good mood. Now my good moods are somewhat different from others, since it would be hard for a passerby on the street to be able to tell if I were in a good mood, annoyed, angry, hysterical, etc. The calm outer visage rarely changed. But, along with that good mood, I find a sense of anxiousness mixed in. Meeting up with a girl I’ve only met with once and spoken onto the phone with… I suppose this was the normal way to go about things. She was nice and easy on the eyes, but perhaps that was the reason for me to be anxious. I didn’t want to turn her off during this day date, since it had been a while since I dated; this one kind of just fell into my lap. Some extra female company in my somewhat hectic life would be enjoyable aside from the kind that was offered to me on top of a platform in some seedy room… not that it wasn’t tempting, but it was a bit… temporary and theoretically expensive.

At a distance, I few the café where I met the young lady and continue my stroll as a brisk pace until I reach the dining area where I view her sitting among the tables outside of the café. Making my way to her, I immediately notice how pretty she looked. It wasn’t that she hadn’t looked the same when I met her, but a days work could not compare to when a woman’s fully prepared herself for a date. Things were looking up. I also notice that she is in the middle of reading something. I make a mental note that she might perhaps be a reader type. My voice is somewhat soft yet audible as I approach the table from the side and greet, “I hope I haven’t kept you waiting long. I have to say, you’re very beautiful.” 340

Jyn's voice spooks me from reading and I turn to look at him with wide orbs, a blush quickly staining my cheeks since I had been about to read the love scene in the novel. I grin sheepishly, blush darkening a bit. "ANo..Arigato, Jyn," I say and close my electronic book unit. I gesture for him to sit. "Don't worry.. I was reading so if I have been sitting here for a moment I didn't even notice. I got you your cafe americano. Should be cooled enough to drink now," I say to him lifting my own drink ot my lips and taking a sip. My eyes take him in. "You look handsome," I add, smiling softly.

I am glad he thought I looked nice. I did not do much from what I normally do to go out. I can see from the corner of my eye that Mia is fuming inside, giving me a death glare as she notes Jyn is the guy from the other night that had caught me before I hit the ground. "So... How has your day been so far?" I ask casually, relaxed now that I wasn't all flustered from what I had been reading. It was kind of embarrassing to have a man catch me reading a sex scene that got me a bit hot under the collar and bothered.

I nod with the gesture to sit and move to the chair at the table. Small things helped me acclimate myself to her so I could get to know her mannerisms and such more so that I could adapt to it. I had half been expected, and perhaps hoped for, a hug accompanying the greeting, but then again, that could have been asking for too much for someone she’s meeting for the first date. No physical contact, but straight into conversation. “Ah, thank you,” I answer as the drink is referenced. Partaking of it, my hand shifts across the surface of the table and I pick it up, looking at it before bringing it to my lips. I look up with her words and give a soft half smile flattered by the compliment. Answering the question, I speak, “well… it’s been non eventful thus far. I managed to sleep in, clean up and get some things accomplished around the apartment. I needed a break after working late last night. But now that I’m here, I feel my day has picked up considerably.” There is a slight pause before I continue, “And you? I take it you had classes this morning?” 200

I smile as he thanks me for his drink. I shrug and tell him it was not a problem at all. Plus it was fun to see Mia get all jealous and suspicious as to why I was buying two drinks when I was clearly alone when I bought the drinks. Jyn then begins to talk about his day and I listen without a compliant. I like his voice and how he speaks. It was relaxing. I sip my mocha and then nod to his question. “Hai. I had Feudal Era studies this morning. Then I got my fukutaicho to take over todays practice. He was happy since I never take time for myself these days. Its always school or work or practice for the tournaments,” I reply. I tilt my head as I gaze at him, examining him for a moment. “You know.. You really are handsome. The sunlight just proves it..” I paused and grin sheepishly. “Ah. Gomen ne. I tend to speak my mind aloud when I should keep my opinions to myself,” I quickly apologize. It was my habit to speak before thinking sometimes.

I look down at my drink and feel a bit of an awkward silence. I perk quickly. “Ano.. What do you like to do? Did you want to see a movie? Go to lunch? I’m up for anything. I really would like to get to know you, Jyn.” I say with a bright smile, siting my drink in front of me with my hands cupped around it. I had wished to hug him when he arrived. But I don’t know how he feels about a girl suddenly doing that on a first date.

As the conversation is shifted back to her, I take a few more sips from my coffee. I liked the way she mixed it, if it was her who did it. Either way, who ever did it would be my official coffee maker from this time forward. I listen to her speak briefly of school and delegating tasks to her subordinate. At the second compliment, I give a soft smile and wonder if she was trying to get me to blush. I wasn’t that bashful a person, but she was cute and her personality was rubbing off on me. Before I could assure her it was fine for her to speak her mind and counter response, a silence comes in and I flow with it for a moment looking down at my drink, holding the top of it with the tips of my fingers. I look up around the same time she perks but allow her to speak first as the question comes in to what I liked to do. My interests were pretty varied; I didn’t want to come off as a square to her. Aside from that, many of the things that I liked to do were solitary things, like playing online chess. Thinking for a moment, I wondered if there were any movies out that I hadn’t seen. I hadn’t been to the theater in some time, so it would be nice to sit in a theater for a while. I admit, “I wouldn’t mind seeing a movie…” I knew that she liked Kendo, so it would be cool if I could see her practice against someone, but it might be a bit too early for me to integrate into her social and school life. Deciding to ditch that idea, I continue, “there is a movie… War of the Realms, I think it was. It’s an historical epic, I wouldn’t mind seeing that… what types do you like?” 321

I sip my drink as I wait for his answer. He then mentions he won't mind seeing a movie and even makes a suggestion for one that we could possibly go see. I tiltmyheadinthought. War of the Realms. Name sounded familar. I then perk completely, smiling brightly. "I would love to see it. I use to read the story of Jiseki and Yukina all the time back in high school," I say and then flush a bit. God I'm such a goddamn book worm. I look to the side and sip my drink. I usually don't reveal my hunger for books to the men I am dating. And this is my fist dat with Jyn and I'm out blabbing all my geek ways. I know I can't hide it. I'm one those cute chicks who is a total geek underneath the cute facade. Books, video games, studying kendo. I use to wear glasses until I activated my other side. Ever since I've had perfect vision. I peek at him, grinning sheepishly. "I really like the history behind it. So.. I really would like to see it if you wish.. As for the types I like. Honestly I will watch anything as long as the storyline is interesting. A good plot used to drawn one's mind into the movie and even feel involved with the characters.." I pause, blush deepening a bit. What was it about this man that made me babble without a thought of keeping it to myself. It.. Its so.. Liberating.

I’m glad to notice the interest in the series. It meant I hadn’t offered to watch something that didn’t interest her. So far I was doing well in the conversation of this date, or at least thought so. She didn’t seem bored or talking to someone on her cell phone, or any tell tale signs to let me know to just get up and walk away. I was actually enjoying being in her presence and her smile warmed me a bit. With another sip and a calm nod, “that’s good then. I’m pretty adaptable myself. But yes… I enjoyed the storyline as well. If I had to pick a favorite character from the novels, it would have to be Toshiue Hitoshi. I think it was a bit off balanced how quickly his brother Jiseki rose to power; I think his brother would naturally have been the stronger of the two. Toshiue was a lot more politically smart as well as more suited to lead a nation. His mistake was not killing Yukina quickly enough and covering it over. All good leaders have their dark sides…” It was at times like this where I wished I had the cell phone that I would eventually receive a week or so later from Tre. That way I could look up the starting times of the movie to see if we would be able to catch a show within the hour. After our conversation, I would probably suggest going to the East City Cinema in the shopping center they have. The ride by bus shouldn’t take more than thirty minutes to get reach that area of the city. 274

I nearly drop my drink in surprise as he goes into detail on the eldest of the Hitoshi sons, Toshiue. I blink a bit in surprise and finally relax completely. "While its true that Jiseki rose in power. He still trained for it. As for Yukina.. I think she helped turn things in a new preceptive. While I love them both as characters I have to say my favorite was Ciena Malvinius and the affair she started with Lord Kyrojin. She went from a simple woman helping to build Belcia to actually being bedded by the man who nearly killed her at one point. That takes some courage or complete insanity to do," I return, watching him as we relax under the afternoon sun. I felt lazy like a cat and loved to bask in it like this. I pull out my cell and flick it open and begin to type in for movie times. "But yes.. Your right about Toshiue being leader. If he had simply left his brother and Yukina alone it would have been fine. Yukina would not have touched Toshiue as time passed and she married Jiseki because then he would have been her brother in law and Yukina respected family above all else," I add as an afterthought as I wait for my cell to bring up movie times.

A sly grin almost comes to my face with her response to Toshiue. I felt that my personality would be like him if I were a darker individual, so perhaps that’s why I thought of him as a likeable character. When she speaks on her half, I nod, “Lord Kyrojin seemed insane. Any woman would have to be brave to be with him; but I think his insanity was a ploy to throw off other’s ability to predict him. Yukina would obviously be the lead heroine of the series, instantly claiming the love and adoration of the Kyrotoshist female fan base while she would be in competition with the Al’Yak leading lady, Nicole... then there was Angel of Det’Hai, but her role was never really fleshed out.” There is a slight pause before I remember in almost a soft tone of annoyance, “the books left the series too open. I would have liked to see who the final victor would have been to conquer the world. I think if the Rubian Empire would have sided with the Sabrians, they could have easily split the world dividing it in two. They say the author lost steam in the series and went into recluse… hopefully the movie will give insight on the future, or at least some type of spoiler…” Being into it, I supposed it was nice to speak naturally like this with a common subject between us. For someone I didn’t really know, the conversation was not forced or stressed. 250

I find myself nodding in agreement to his words. I had nearly thrown a bitch fit when I had heard that the novels would not be concluded, leaving so many open ended questions that I had nearly wrote the editor for the last of the author's notes to finish the damn series for them. I look down at my cell as the internet kicks in and brings up the East CIty cinema and the times for all the movies. Gotta love technology at times. Let's see.. Its almost two thirty now.. SO we can catch the four showing then get out just in time for dinner if he wasn't tired of me by then. I nod and snap my phone shut. I lift my gaze to him and smile. "I hope they have a spoiler also. or this movie inspires the author to continue once his work is seen with real people playing out his characters. Also we can catch the four o' clock showing. We can grab a bit to eat before hand at a cute bagel shop I go to before class. Also.. Umm.." I pause for a moment and look to the side. "We can go to dinner after the movie if you like," I add with a hint of a blush touching my cheeks. I'm really beginning to like Jyn. I hope I don't mess this up.

“Ah, okay,” I acknowledge to the fact that we would be able to catch the four o clock showing. But before that, we would have a snack, then dinner afterwards? It seemed that my entire day would be lost for this date, but it was fine, since it was not like there was terribly much that I had to do today. I had intended on seeing Nigel a bit later after we finished, but I could do that tomorrow and explain why I hadn’t gone to my weapons training. I’m sure someone like him would understand, so there shouldn’t be an issue there. On top of that, I liked her and I felt that I would be enjoying myself. It was a luxury I found that I didn’t have on a regular basis; perhaps something I needed a bit more of. With a nod, I assure her, “that sounds good. Dinner and a movie it is.” Motioning to stand, I suggest, “should we be on our way? We can walk, talk and have coffee as we head to this bagel shop that you’re acquainted with. I know hanging out at your job can’t be terribly fun, even when you’re off?” 200

I feel my heart flutter and I perk up completely as he agrees to dinner. I smile brightly for him and then I blink and stand with him. His words make me giggle and I nod a bit. "Yeah. It is kind of odd. But I kin dof didn't notice once we got to talking," I admit as I grab my purse and drink. I wonder if I should take his arm or something. Or just walk casually alongside him. God I feel like I've been out of the dating loop for ages with this. "I'm sure you'll love the bagel shop. I got my room mate Yume addicted to their coffee and breakfast sandwiches before class," I say in an amused tone, a warmth touching my features as I mention Yume. My purse is hitched up on my right shoulder, my drink in my right hand, leaving my left free. I finally swallow my slight fear of him and wait till he stands. When he does I would slip my free arm around his rigth, hoping he wouldn't mind the slightly imtimate touch between us.
