It was the weekend after school let out for vacation, and here I was, sitting in my room with nothing to do. Being like that was normal, but it was also normal for me to enjoy not doing anything. Right now, I was just flat out bored. I figure I could contribute that to the 'exciting' event that took place as soon as school let out. After having my spirit awakened there, it would be hard for me to calm down. And for someone like me, who truly found fun in being a boring person, calming down was a priority. Now, in order to satiate myself, I would need to quell my manly spirit. This was something normally impossible, but if my burning manly spirit was what I used to put out my burning manly spirit, then it was possible. It seemed like a question of "Can god create a boulder he himself cannot lift it?" The answer is simple; if he tries hard enough, he can make one. If he tries harder still, he could lift it. It all mattered based upon the effort.

However, to make it easier on me, I had some help. On the table in front of me rested my textbook, which held the questions for our "vacationary practice". Did such a phrase even exist? I didn't know, but I would soon find out, as my vocabulary homework was the first to be handled. Using my handy dictionary, pleasantly located on my phone, I was able to hook up to Realm 1.0 and look up the words needed with very little lag or downtime. In about thirty minutes, I had written down and memorized the entire list of words for the week vacation.

Placing the textbook at my side, I reach for a red one in a similar shape to the first, though considerably thicker. Complex equations and instructions melded in the pages with various shapes and connections to the real world. Math was always one of my better subjects; perhaps the best I had. Lifting the thick cover, I look at the numbers I had scratched into the inside page with a frown. It was a lot of work, true, but more than that was the realization of what I had done. At the end of the year, I would have to be careful and inconspicuous about it, as I didn't want to have to pay to replace a book just because I 'scratched' a few numbers into. Knowing the school, they'd say I defaced sacred property when I engraved my homework into the backside of the front cover.

But that was for another time. Right now, instead of sitting there worrying about what was to come, I instead move my attention to becoming more productive. My eyes scan the first of eight pages, focusing intently on the instructions. Before long, the book begins talking about derivatives again and I suddenly feel just as bored as I normally did. That was good; I was cured! I could stop!... Unfortunately, no. Since I'm here already, I may as well continue and finish. But even though I share this great thought with myself, once the book starts to speak of Leibniz notation, I feel as if my eyes have become heavy..

"No, no.." I mumble slightly, dipping into and out of sleep several times. Math was fun when I understood it; learning a new mathematical process was absolutely boring. Even more, I have no idea what the book is trying to teach me. This is true as a rule, however; normally, I don't. I have to look at it long enough and do an equation or two, before I find a path to take allowing me to completely throw out the old equation and use a new, personal one that works in half the time and with half the effort.

Knowing that once I finish the chapter I'll be okay, I manage to push through all the reading and make my way to the next page, which held sample and example problems galore. All I needed to do here was glance them over, so it was another easy page. In actuality the only part that required any physical work beyond moving the eyes was the last five or so pages. Even still, that's a lot of work! But, the sooner I finish, the sooner I'm done with all of it, so I turn the page from the sample problems and look at the first equation as I try to think of what exactly the process was. I slip back and forth between the pages, copying the example problems step by step for the first three or so, but doing it like this makes it last five to six minutes per problem. It was beginning to annoy me. Frustrated, but not ready to give up just yet, I stop actively pursuing new problems, and instead try to find what steps I can omit and how I can rearrange it to make it make sense for someone with a mind like mine.

Soon, I have spent over a half hour sitting in front of my heater pondering the inner workings of this problem. Just before I was ready to roll over and take a nap break, I notice something odd on one of the picture examples. Studying it further, my brain begins to slowly churn while I gaze with my full attention towards this perplexity. Eventually, a light bulb pops over my head, and I attain knowledge of how I need to attack the problem.

For practice, I once more try out a sample problem with my new equation and style of attack, and find that I get the same answer in a quarter of the time. Satisfied, I move back to the first page and glide through it. Following that would be another obstacle about half way down the page, that would stump me for another ten minutes by adding an additional step for the normal equation. Luckily my brilliant mind, plenty energized due to normally being in a state of minimum thought, is able to figure out how to compound the new step with my equation, and forms one that can completely conquer the new opponent.

From there, I'm able to blast through the remaining half of the work in little over an hour, with several small minute breaks where I would lose concentration in boredom and gaze off into the snowy sky. Once I can hardly think numbers any more, I take it as a sign to break and switch to something else. With vocabulary finished and math becoming too boring, what else was there for me to work on..?

Giving a light grunt, I lift myself up and walk over to a table where I slide my math book off my arms carelessly, pondering what my next target was. I take a moment to think, and eventually decide to do my Home Ec. homework, which was practice making a proper breakfast of choice. I had chosen pancakes with proper side dishes, which I already mastered, but it was a good excuse to make myself something to eat and fill my stomach.

I had the ingredients all ready, since I enjoyed eating this on a regular basis. My batter was homemade, but I had made some just the other day, and it was properly stored, so there was no problem. The only thing I needed to add were the eggs, which go in easily before being beaten and mixed into the whole mass. As I stir, my free hand reaches over and pulls the two remaining eggs from the carton and cracks them on the extra frying pan to my side (naturally it was properly buttered). I would be making them scrambled, but my style was noticeably odd. I never mixed them in a bowl beforehand. Instead, I would do so inside the frying pan; several people called it stupid, but it was simply the way I learned.

Time passed quickly as I was cooking, and I easily found myself finished before realizing what had happened. I had ended up being successful, and today's meal ended up tasting better than any other one. Perhaps that was a good sign for school when I returned? Perhaps I could hit that meal out of the park as well. I could only hope. But for now, I needed to run to the store to pick up a few things, such as more butter and another carton of eggs. Since I wasn't hungry, I remove one pancake from the stack and put the dish in the microwave for me when I get back. On my way out the door, I stuff the pancake in my mouth and march down the stairs to go and pick up a few things.

On my way home from the grocery store, my mind catches on the advertisement hung in a electrical store window. the ad is familiar; something I had seen on T.V quite often recently. It was a promotion for Realm 2.0. I had been interested in this for a while, and they were offering assistance in the ordering and hook-up of the equipment necessary to run it all. Thinking, I knew I had money left over to buy the account subscription and get it hooked up, so I figured I might as well do so. I had a week to get it set up and learn its inner workings, so there really wasn't a better time. Inside, the man and I talk and I give him my address as to where I would like the extra equipment installed. As well, he hands me what is necessary for the "CyberTraveller Interface", and tells me to try and handle that myself in the mean time. In addition, I give him the money and we set up my account right then and there, and everything is checked out. From there, I would return home and eat my meal I prepared while searching Realm 1.0 for some more information on its newest version.
