| Adrian frowned as he sat in the sign up booth, reading one of his grandmother's journals, still trying to decypher the strange writing she'd used. There was just no making any sense of it. He was bored, and didn't pay much attention as students came up and signed up, using fake names like Mike Hunt, Richard Head, or even Seymour Asses. He was tired of the stupid jokes being made at his expense as a result of working for Akiko. She was trying to draw attention to the 'Magic Club' and had literally forced him into the seat telling him he wasn't allowed to get out unless he wanted to be docked a month's pay and get an F in her class. "Jeez I swear this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of." he muttered, turning the page of the leather bound journal. (402/402) | |

| "KUURUde tsuyokute kakkoii iketeruto iwareteitemo Hontowa sonnademo naishi futsuuni onnanoko damon PURESSHAA nanka hanenokete sunaoni naritaindakedona KYARA jyanaitoka iwaretatte atashino kokoro ANROKKU!"
I sing as I skip along the campus ground, twirling at random intervals. People look but then ignore. I've always been like this. Plus.. It’s a lovely day to sing. Nice sunshine. Beautiful sky. I pause and tap my chin. I wonder if I should go to the market and see if they have any flour on sale so I can bake a sponge cake to serve in the diner as dessert for lunch. Ooo.. I really should check later. I don't have much money but I'm sure I can haggle down the price with a pair of puppy dog eyes. Yes. That is what I will do. I should also go visit the girls running our club stand for the cooking club. I look at the pastry box in my hand and smile. I had baked them some cute little custard cakes for their hard work. I peek in and see that even with my dancing and merrying about that they are fine. I hum happily and peer at the other club sign up booths.
Magic?
It catches my eye and I wonder over. Really? Could people do magic? I want to do magic! I could be like one of my manga magical girls. I giggle a bit at the thought and stand closer and here the guy running it mutter, making me tilt my head in confusion.
"Eto.. If you think it’s stupid. Why are you in the club?" I ask suddenly, peering at him and blinking my large violet eyes as some of my hair slips over my shoulder as I lean in a bit.

| "I'm not," Adrian said without looking up, "I'm the supervising teacher's aide. And she stuck me in this booth. Before you ask, no it's not some cheesy Dungeons and Dragons, save the princess, kill the evil dude club. It's not a magician's club where you learn to do cheap tricks either. As lame as this is going to sound it's a club where practical uses of different kinds of magic are discussed and then put into action. Like throwing fireballs, or freezing things. And I don't think the club is stupid, I'm happy to participate. I just think it's stupid to recruit people like this. If you want to sign up you can." His eyes glanced up at the girl and then back to his book. But quickly did a double take, his eyes going wide when he saw her. Folding the book closed he smiled, rubbing the back of his head. A woman this beautiful wanting to join the club?! No way! "Then again it is pretty fun to do when you get the hang of casting spells. Torching the trees outside some jackass' home, or stopping things from flying into you, and so on." he explained. (198/600) | |

| Dungeons and Dragons? I wonder what that is. I tap my chin with my free hand as I listen to him. He's still looking at the book in his hand while he tells me about the club. I wonder if I could ever do that kind of stuff. I look at the little pastry box in my hand. I'm better at cooking though. Plus I love watching the happiness on people's faces when they eat my food. But magic just sounds so fun. But could I do it? Even I have to admit I can be a klutz outside the kitchen.
He finally puts his book down and looks at me. I smile softly before I blink at his next words. Why would I set a poor tree on fire? I want to learn magic that would make people happy.
"Fujita-hime!" I look up as the girls from the cooking booth call to me. I wave and look back at the male running the magic booth. I smile kindly and fish out a cute little cupcake and set it in front of him.
"For good luck," I say to him before I wave and rush over to the other girls who are calling to me. Still... Magic would be so fun.

| Adrian frowned, watching her go, before he looked to the cupcake she'd given him. He blinked a few times and shrugged before he bit into it. His eyebrows shot up in surprise, it was one of the best cucpcakes he'd had before. He at the rest of it down ravenously, before he sat back down, rubbing his chin. He had to think of a way to draw at least a little more attention. That was when it happened. He felt the wad of paper bounce off his head and sighed. He shook his head and started speaking loud enough to be heard, but not shouting. "Seven bright stars in the sky I see, seven for those that watch over me. Shine forth your light and protect me." he chanted. After his words the next paper wad from the jackass throwing them, bounced away in mid-air. Seeing that others began throwing wads of paper. But they just continued to bounce away as Adrian went back to his book. Spiritual magic was something even the students in the club were new with. While Adrian had demonstrated it before in a lecture he'd given the Paranormal Studies class nobody seemed to believe it was true magic, just some parlor trick (208/808) | |

| "You act like I care what other people think about me. I don't. As far as I'm concerned nobody's opinion of me matters but my own. As for the attention, why would I are who comes? I'm a demon hunter." he said, looking at Natsuki, once more closing his book. "What are they gonna do? Lock me up in magic jail?" People were testing his shield now, throwing all sorts of things. Books, paper wads, Adrian frowned when he heard a bottle shatter against his shield and hit the ground. He looked to where it fell and shrugged before he stood, stretching. Leaning in close to Natsuki he lowered his voice. "Your little demon only won because I didn't have any spells on my side last time. Next time I face him, I'll take his head right off." he said before raising his voice again. "That's right, this is the kind of thing you can learn to do in our little club. Learn to throw fireballs, freeze things, or even how to heal wounds. The Magic club is a place for REAL magic. Not parlor tricks, or games! You've seen what can be done here. Or should a bigger demonstration be given?" (202/1,010) | |

| "Witch hunters my ass. I'll believe it when I see it." he said, as she walked away. Dropping back into his seat, he once more went back to the leather bound book his grandmother had left him. He had never heard of Witch Hunters in anything he'd studied. He knew of witch trials and so on, but was never able to find anything regarding any form of strange happenings in modern times. Besides, it wasn't like he was running around blasting people. The only spell he ever seemed to use in public was in fact a defensive spell. But if they did come for him, he wasn't going to make it easy. (112/1,122) | |
