A New Job (Kuna-kun) Empty
PostSubject: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 6:01 pm

It was like it normally was. Kuna was sent a message to meet with him, and chances were it would be in his best interests to show up as his good friend and business partner, Izuya, proved to be very persistent in matters that gave attention to him. On top of that, it would be a tad bit difficult to avoid since he would be waiting outside of Kuna’s school at the front gates waiting for him to get out of classes. His back would be against the gates with his arms folded and his gaze down, contently relaxing to himself. While standing there in his casual position, he would peruse the minds of those walking past, just to pass the time until his page came out and greeted him. When he felt the presence of Kuna, he would look up and towards his general direction. Pushing off of the gate, he would turn to him and raise his hand, giving an elaborate and attention gathering wave and yell for, “Kuna-kuuuun!”

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 7:06 pm

It was going to be a rather normal and boring day, which he liked compared too the hectic ones that occasionally cropped up. Boring day this would not be since he had recieved a message from Izuya asking him to do a job, and he had every intention of turning the spirit down since he was getting tired of its antics hence why he had agreed too the meeting. Kuna had finished his classes for the day and was coming out with the rest of his classmates when he say the over energetic spirit. The blond would keep a bland expression on his face while regarding Izuya. "Hello Izuya, what do you want?"

A New Job (Kuna-kun) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 7:13 pm

“I have a job!” he speaks in a cheerful tone, “all humans like money… they need them for stuff… and as such, I have a way for us to both make money!” His body lowers and he folds his arms, turning away from Kuna as he comments, “now I know you would normally be cautious to accept such a generous offer…” His hand comes to his heart as he extends the other to the side and allows, “but I will not be insulted if you accept, for I owe you a favor for performing that delivery for me so successfully.” He continues, “oh, speaking of that delivery, how did Kameko-chan like the roses? You did deliver them as I asked, didn’t you?” Though he would have a closed eye smile while asking this, his eyes would open just enough for an evil gleam to be noticeable deep within them.

A New Job (Kuna-kun) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 7:28 pm

Kuna regarded him with disinterest, there were lots of jobs that paid money. The one good thing that Izuya had done (well maybe two if you take into account Izuya teaching him how to use magic) was far outweighed by the list of stunts he had pulled on the blond. He would have disassociated himself with the spirit, but he knew that unless he stopped being interesting for Izuya he would never be truly left alone hence the reluctant meeting. "Oh it went fine." He lie, but he was pretty certain Izuya knew the truth. "So, what needs to be done?" He asked.

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 8:05 pm

Clapping his hands, Izuya chirps, “details… details…” He motions to his motorcycle that was sitting parked outside of the school gates. Unlike last time, there would be a motor cart attached to the side of the bike so that a passenger could ride while sitting down instead of riding bitch back on the rear of the cycle. Izuya state, “let’s take my bike there, it’ll be much faster.” The presence of the people around them would be enough reason to explain why Izuya wouldn’t simply teleport them to where they needed to go. With that said, Izuya twirls on one foot and heads towards the bike standing to its side taking the helmet from the steering wheel and tossing it to his cohort.

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 8:15 pm

The same answer as before, which just elicited a sigh from Kuna. He would look towards the bike with a bit of suspicion, but he figured that if Izuya wanted to screw with him there plenty of other ways that didn't involve the destruction of his property. The blond would just give a shrug of his shoulders as he followed the spirit away from the crowds of people and followed him too his bike. "So, what needs to be done, or is that going to just be details too?" He asked Izuya as he slung one leg over the bike and held onto the spirits body while waiting for him to start it up. Kuna doubted he would get more then a vague answer from him though.

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 8:26 pm

Thinking over the words while he situates himself on the bike, Izuya answers after a moment, “I guess you could call it manual labor. The work shouldn’t be too hard, though; it’s a nice lady that we’re helping out near the northern heights so you can expect to get a big tip.” Of course, it would be near the heights and not in the heights, for in his information gathering, he had come across spirits who made the mistake of trying to get into that region and found it troublesome. With that, he would wait for Kuna to get situated before starting the engine and driving off. The drive would be peaceful for the most part with no real cause of commotion. The traffic would be that of afterschool traffic, so the flow was steady and slower than one would normally like. While driving, Izuya would speak to Kuna as he asks, “so you like the Kameko girl, eh?”

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 8:42 pm

He listened for a moment, but there were a few inconsistencies he noted in Izuya's words. Kuna doubted he could get into the Northern Heights where all the wealthy people lived security would certainly be way too tight for even someone like Izuya caliber to pull off lightly. "Manual labor could cover a whole lot of different things, where you are concerned. I need specifics." He would say knowing that words with Izuya always had double, triple, or quadruple meanings to them, such as when he asked him about the white haired girl Kameko. There was a bit of silence before he answered. "Any man would be attracted to a girl like that, but I doubt I have any real chance of dating her." Kuna would say figuring that honesty would be best used here.

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 8:50 pm

A smile comes to Izuya lips as Kuna admits that he didn’t think he had any real chances with Kameko. He comments, “you know… if you want her, I can get her for you. A gift from me to you. I guess since you messed up my original plan with her, she has no more use for me. How about that, would you be happy if I matched you both together? I wonder if you two would make a good couple.” Izuya knew about the complication that such a thing might provide, and it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing to him, just a redirection.

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 9:01 pm

Kuna regarded the offer from Izuya for a moment, but he gave a shake of his head. "What's the point of being in a relationship if its just going to be based off lies and manipulation of a person's feelings?" He said. "I'd rather win her over through my own merits then have to sink to basically making her a slave against her will, even if there is no chance in hell for me." Kuna would rebuff the offer; though, he knew that despite what he said that the spirit would no doubt interfere regardless since that is where it got its most pleasure. "Now quit diverting the subject and give me that actual specifics of the job."

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 9:09 pm

Izuya diverts the subject as he continues, “I am shocked that you think I would attempt to win her heart through lies and manipulation! Love is a sacred thing. Don’t you think I have morals too?” There would be a smile with that statement as he assures, “you misunderstood me. I wouldn’t hook you guys up by tricking anyone. The truth can be just as effective when it has a chance to manifest itself. Right now, she probably doesn’t know you all that well and you might not have much in common… it make sense because you’re strangers. You don’t know her favorite color, the foods she likes, what makes her smile, etcetera. I merely offer to assist you…” Izuya giggles, “what, you thought I was going to hypnotize her or something? I’m not a magician Kuna-kun.”

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 9:25 pm

He once again diverted, which was expected from the spirit. "You may have morals, but they are vastly different from any social norms, that you may as well not have any." Kuna said bluntly. "You don't have to hypnotize people, and I am sure you do, too be able to manipulate them. You would use the truth just as much as a weapon as lies if it meant a means to your ends; thus, you manipulate peoples mind and feelings." There was a pause "You want to help, then tell me whats your fascination with her?" Kuna would ask if he was going to divert the subject so much, he might as well go with it and see where it went.

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 9:32 pm

Izuya answers, “not that it actually will help you, but I’m not fascinated with her. You continue to be my main fascination, which is why you’re here with me now and not her.” Izuya takes time to look at the road ahead as they would be reaching the outer reaches of the city before he comments, “when I purchased those flowers and told you to go and take them to her, do you think I didn’t know that you already knew her? Why do you think I sent you and not Armant on that little delivery? In a way, I’ve already helped you along your way of grabbing her heart… although as you hinted, the flowers you gave her were a lie, since they didn’t come from you and you were not honest in the intent on giving them to her… so does that make you more despicable than me: someone who merely wanted to help you? I guess we both lied; me to you and you to her.” He giggles, “maybe you’re catching what I’ve got.”

He snorted at what Izuya said. "I'm nothing more the one of many little side projects once you've grown bored you'll move onto another interesting subject." His pale blue eyes shut themselves for a moment in thought "Yeah, I lied, and it may not have been for altruistic intentions either. It is damn better though then whatever scheme you had cooked up that would have ensnared the girl up in, but the issue is moot though. I said it before I don't have a chance in hell." He looked towards the city limits "Now, where the hell are we going?" Kuna asked taking more time for his eyes to scan over the areas in which they were in, but he didn't recognize anything.

A New Job (Kuna-kun) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 10:34 pm

“I told you I knew what you were going to do before you did it; the girl is a minimal detail. But still, you never know unless you try, Kuna-kun,” Izuya chirps, “like me picking you. It worked because I tried.” They come into a residential area on the borders of northern East City. Izuya begins to slow down and eventually comes into a stop outside of a particular dwelling. The house was pretty large and had a gate in front of it. After parking the bike in front of the stone wall, Izuya stands up and walks around to the pager located just next to the metal gate. Still speaking to Kuna, he states, “try not to be so moody.” Pressing the button on the intercom, there is a beep whereas Izuya speaks, “Izuya Services are your… service.” He giggles a little with it. There is no response, only a long beeping noise as the gate opens. Izuya waits for it to open before walking into the yard. The drive way led to a garage and Izuya followed the sidewalk leading up to the cherry oak front door. Knocking twice, a silhouette is visible thought the stained glass oval at chest height in the wooden door. The door opens and a man in a suit answer the door and bows, greeting us both into the abode. “Thank you,” Izuya chirps while entering. The living room is set up pretty well with more furniture and antiques than anything else. The gentleman looks to Kuna and nods before looking to Izuya and leading the way into a hallway. Reaching a door, the male states, “when you are done, see me and I will tender your payment.” Izuya nods and comments, “thank you for your patronage” and watches as the male in the suit walks off. Looking to Kuna, he advises, “you’re up.” He looks to the large door, seemingly a bed room door, and opens it up. The insides are dark. Izuya speaks, “once you’re in, you’ll know what you have to do. Do your best!”

A New Job (Kuna-kun) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 10:50 pm

It seemed there conversation had ended once they reached their destination, and Kuna still didn't have any information regarding what he was supposed to do. It was always a surprise though with Izuya. It was still not immediately apparent, but he was taking precautions as he took notice of the entrance and grounds, formulating the best way to escape if he needed too. He was sure that Izuya would try to stop him as well, but that wouldn't prevent him from trying if need be. Kuna was busy taking his mental notes, when he turned his attention too the butler he presumed. They were lead up into the bedroom with only darkness being revealed inside, and there was instant alarm bells ringing in his head. His head whips towards the spirit and says, "There is no way I am going in there, not after that last stunt you pulled." He was very much prepared too at this time to just leave and not look back.

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 11:14 pm

Izuya smile evilly. He asks a very simple question, “do you think you have that choice right now?” Instead of coaxing him that everything would be alright, he takes a different route, informing Kuna, “now we can do this one of two ways. We can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way. The choice is yours. Now I’ve already read your thoughts… and I might be reading them right now. Yes, Kuna, as you have suspected, I can and have read your thoughts, so that’s no longer a secret between us. Now you be a good boy and get in there and make this $3,500. It’ll be over before you know it.”

PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyWed Oct 27, 2010 11:32 pm

He was given the option, one that he didn't like. He took a stance and squared his shoulders, stubbornness plain in his features. "Then I guess we do it the hard way." Kuna would say letting Izuya read his thoughts which was plain as day that even if attempted some form of mind control he would do all in his power to resist him. "Go on Izuya make your move, and I'll hunt you down and put a bullet between those eyes of yours. I'll do whatever it takes to do it too." He would say squaring himself in front of the spirit and quite ready for whatever the spirit had in store.

A New Job (Kuna-kun) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyThu Oct 28, 2010 12:00 am

Izuya giggles at first and then laughs as he holds his chest and rocks his head back. He allows himself a moment to enjoy this moment and the genuine reaction he gained from Kuna. The laughing eventually crescendo’s and Izuya begins to compose as he look back at Kuna and taunts, “make my move, huh? Attempt some form of mind control? Do my worst? Well, Kuna-kun… you’ve just played all your cards. To hunt me down, you’ll need legs… human legs break so easily. To put a bullet in me, you would need arms; those fingers can be easily cracked and rendered useless.”

Around this time, Kuna should notice that everything around them was very still. In order to keep the client from wondering about them, Izuya had frozen the realm of time around them. He continues with a reassuring smile, “I told you a while ago that you were smarter than me, but maybe you were right. Anyways, Kuna-kun, I would request that you never be able to cause bodily harm to me (Influence), ne? That’s such a scary thought; you’re a better person than that.” The spell laced within the words would be so subtle and earnest that it would not come off as a form of mind control; chances were that Kuna wouldn’t even realize that spell had been caste until he attempted to injure Izuya. He continues, “…but now, there’s a job to do and now that you’ve aroused me, perhaps I can do what you can’t. Would you like to accompany me inside?”

Time would resume and Izuya would leave it up to Kuna to enter or not. On entry, dim lights comes from candles set around a majestic bed with a very attractive blonde young lady laid in the middle in lingerie consisting of a black lace panties and bra, stocking and a garter belt, etc. Izuya chimes, “while daddy and mommy are away, their darling little girl will play?” The girl, perhaps the age of a high school senior or college freshmen, calls out, “Izuya… why’d you come? I wanted someone different.” Izuya shakes his head and sighs, “I tried my best, I really did.” Izuya explains to Kuna’s mind while walking towards the bed, “her mother and father are gone and she is unable to leave the house to meet guys, so she asked me to hook her up with a nice young man… unfortunately, I’m not built for strenuous activity, so I will be the one to have to do this the hard way.”

A New Job (Kuna-kun) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyThu Oct 28, 2010 12:36 am

It seemed that Izuya wasn't well versed in all the cards that Kuna had to play in his hand, and it was true that the mental suggestion would prevent him from physically harming Izuya. He found himself stopping from lunging at Izuya when he said that, which gave away the influence that Izuya had exerted upon him. He kept his mind carefully neutral at this point, when the girl came out of the darkness and approached Izuya. There would be a bit of discourse between the two of them, but he would find himself placing a hand upon Izuya's shoulders with a soft touch a soft glow suffused his hand and would immediate travel into his body. There would be an adverse reaction from the spiritual body of Izuya as the essence of his soul line acted like a poison upon his spirit. "Izuya I don't think our conversation is over." He would say knowing this act would cause a more severe reaction from the spirit.

A New Job (Kuna-kun) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Job (Kuna-kun)   A New Job (Kuna-kun) EmptyThu Oct 28, 2010 12:57 am

It would seem that Izuya hadn’t caught onto the fact that Kuna was at the point of attacking him. If he had known that he was in such danger then the spell of influence would have been set a bit differently due to the fact that he knew that Kuna would be able to tell something was up, if not what exactly, when he tried to attack Izuya but couldn’t. Oddly this is exactly what happened immediately after the spell was set. The quickness at which Kuna ruled out all other reasons for not attacking someone who was unarmed and non-threatening would be praiseworthy to Izuya in hindsight. He might be a tactician after all.

The lack of foresight was a dangerous misread on Izuya’s behalf, the types of which he would be hard press to have to remember. Still, one miraculous realization and series of circumstances warrant another in reply. Simply enough, being interested in whether Kuna would change his mind in this matter, Izuya would be actively monitoring him. Yes, Kuna’s mind was guarded from surface thoughts, which in all actuality didn’t really matter much as Kuna had no special mental defenses, but Izuya had more than just the ability to read someone’s thoughts. The short of things would conclude with Kuna finding himself basked in a bright light and then stranded somewhere off the coast of the great sea in the past realm… though the exactly realm of arrival wouldn’t be instant given knowledge, or at least Izuya wouldn’t think it to be to people with normal thought processes and observational skills. The coast was a pretty run of the mill area that didn’t change much over time.

But! The events that led up to this being the case are as follows: Izuya has Foresight allowing him to see into the future, so he already knew if Kuna would be down with banging the chick or not before Kuna knew if he would himself. He also knew all of Kuna’s reactions before he made them for that interval of time. He was surprised to see the events which occurred, which alerted him that he needed to remove Kuna from the situation to cool his head while Izuya could handle business as usual. Still, during all of this, it was interesting for Izuya to learn that Kuna had an interesting capability.
