Darkness lingers over the city. The clouds threaten to bring down rain. Lightning flashes in the skies and thunder roars. It is still early in the work day. The news warns residents to stay inside.

"There is high chance of rain. Our instruments predict a downpour that can last a full day. Maybe even longer."
"We haven't had a flood in the city in quite some time, have we?"
"It's been a pretty long time. I doubt any of the good areas will actually flood. The lower commons might, but everyone else should be fine."
"Haha. Yeah, they always get the worst of it. I'm glad I stay in the Metro. Still expect rain and high winds..."

Three monks dressed in traditional attire walk into the Division 12 HQ. The lead monk holds a staff that he uses as a walking stick. He is an old man with long white eyebrows, hair and beard. The two other monks are much younger. People would be able to tell they were from the forest. They would be unarmed. The lead monk speaks out.

"I need to speak with whoever is in charge here. It is of the utmost urgency."

Lightning flashes in the sky in the background of the newcomers. Rain starts to pour down.

Marcos sits in the air in the sky. He is protected from the rain by a barrier that surrounds him in a bubble. He rests his elbow on his knees and looks over the dark city.

"It's kind of boring if we give them a warning."

The Leviathan stands in the air next to him.

"That's what the plan is. In the end, the humans are not our target."

Marcos sighs and lays on his back.

"But they're fun to mess with. This sucks. I could have done this with my demon army..."

"Something this simple I could do alone."

"Me too... Hell... my kid probably could... I'm just saying."

The Leviathan turns and looks to the forest.

"He says it's more fun with the weak ones struggle against each other. Our time will come."

Spirits flow from the Onitoshi portal. Yokai and forest spirits group up in the forest. Birds and animals flee from that portion of the forest. It is completely overrun by spirits. They gather and grow in numbers. Lightning flashes again. Something big was about to happen from the forest.

The monk's that had arrived into Division 12 were instantly out of place and it was something that caught the eye's of everyone in the place. From his desk Jose would lift his head and arch a brow a bit confused as to what these people were doing here, but it would seem they came here with a purpose as they asked to speak with the one who's in charge because it was of a dire emergency. Jose would speak up to them as he held a finger to them as if to tell them 'hold on a minute' "I'll give a ring, just one moment please."

Picking up the phone Jose would call up the commissioner's office, which is Jyn's office. Though call had been routed to the secretary phone first to which it was picked up. In her seat she held the phone to her hear. "Commissioner Asei's office, this is Izumi Hiramoto, how may I assist you?" Jose spoke out in a gentle voice as he smiled hearing Izumi's voice. "Izumi, this is Jose, if it's not a bother could you tell the commissioner there are some monk's down here to see him."

This response was quite weird as Izumi arched a brow. "Monk's? What could they want?" Jose shrugged his shoulders on his end and shook his head. "I have no clue, but it just seems weird for monk's to be all the way over here, they say it's an emergency so I called."

Nodding her head she responded. "Alright, I'll let him know immediately thank you Jose, he should be down in a few moments." Jose nodded his head as well. "Alright, Thank's Izumi, take care now, bye bye."

"Bye" and with that stated Izumi hung up the phone. Jose on his side would tell the monks. "He is being notified right now and should be on his way down."

Izumi got up and made her way to Jyn's door as she knocked on his door. "It's Izumi." she announced before she would open the door and enter inside.

Water begins to bead and form line along the window of the room with the degradation of the weather. The dark skies offer no fluffy scenery of the outside and the city from the elevated view of my office. Having gone a bit old school due to my frustrations of being purely digital, several articles of paper lay on my desk mixed in with virtual, holographic pieces of paper that were laid about the top of my desk. Among these pieces of paper was the vague title “Recalibration.” Various plans, proposals and projects concerning said subject were the topic of the mess upon my table. The table would be noticeably larger than the one of my previous office. The seat of the commissioner was a rather large and comfortable one. A small amount of time had passed since I had been nominated and accepted the commissioner’s seat within the Division. At this moment in time, I was the figurehead and public figure acquainted with running the Division.

The sound of the raindrops and dull thunder offers a slightly soothing background as I work amongst the materials on my desk. Leaning back in my chair, I recline from the littered desk and sigh lightly as a hand comes to the side of my head and moves softly within the glossy strands of black. A slight sigh comes with the temple rub, but is shortly interrupted with the knock on the door and announcement of both my current girlfriend and secretary. “Ah, Izumi,” I notice as my gaze shifts up, “what is it?”

A soft smile came onto her face when she saw Jyn, her boyfriend and boss, Seeing him behind his large desk and cluttered with what looked like a whole lot of work. She waved at him as closed the door behind herself after he asked her what was going on. "I got a call from Jose..." she started as she walked up to his desk. "It appears that there are some monk's downstairs wanting to come speak to you about an emergency of some sort." taking a moment as she looked toward's his window and took notice of the weather. It's been looking quite bad and according to the weather station looks like it's gonna be like this for quite sometime.

‘Monks?’ is among the first thoughts to come into my head along with ‘who the hell is Jose?’ My visage transitions from more or less my normal look to slight annoyance as I look down at my desk, then back up and sigh. Turning my gaze to the side and to my computer’s screen, I calmly give the verbal command to invoke a view of the security camera in the front lobby. A holographic screen populates next to my main screen and, true enough, there were men dressed in traditional attire standing patiently in the lobby. I carry the thought, ‘they couldn’t have found anyone other than -me- to talk to them?’ The Division was quite large with several important looking captains and such; one of them would have probably done well. Still, ambassadors from the forest could turn out to be a pretty big deal, or something PR related. I had heard from several sources, that there were tribes in the forest who fought against spirits on a regular basis, so I rationalize that there was a good chance they had something important to say if they came all the way here.

“Okay,” I say as I stand to my feet, “let’s go see what they want.” I wore a simple business casual dark gray suit with white shirt and red tie. The top button was undone with my tie slightly loose, showing that I still hadn’t gotten fully comfortable in dressing the part yet. Walking from my desk, I move towards the door where Izumi was, and would proceed out of it to head to the lobby, but not without playfully patting Izumi on the ass in passing. “Let them know I’m coming down, please,” I would ask of her. I decided that instead of making them walk all the way to my office, I would go downstairs and meet them. I assumed that would be the best thing for older traditional types; I didn’t want to seem arrogant or rude. If we required a place to sit down and talk, I felt that one of our conference rooms would do fine. From my office I would proceed to the elevator, and from the elevator I would enter into the lobby. Hopefully someone would be at the base of the elevator to show me to our guests and point out the leader, not that he particularly needed to be pointed out. Being respectful of the elder monk, I give a short bow before standing casually and speaking, “I am Asei Jyn, Commissioner of Division 12.” I look past them to the weather outside and am reminded how far the forest is from the center of the city. I wondered if they walked the entire way. I offer, “let’s speak in another room; there’s no need for you to stand in the lobby.” Speaking to the side, I ask, “Izumi, can you get someone to bring them some water or something please?”

She looked at his face that had the same thoughts as everyone else in the Division 12 that heard about it when they would first hear about it. Izumi would just wait as he finally responded after taking a look at them from the monitor. So he wanted to go meet them instead of them coming to him. She nodded her head. "Alright Jyn." she stated when he said to let's go meet them. As he walked out he smacked her on the ass and she jumped a little and placed her hands upon her own butt as she blushed. "Jyn!" she said in a playful manner as she would follow after him and quickly gave an answer. "I already told them you were coming down." she had anticipated that he would want to go down to them.

She would still smile as she grabbed her usually notebook bag which she took with her whenever she had to go somewhere with Jyn in the office so that she could write down notes of what is being said when they arrived to who they were to meet with. Finally they would arrive near them and she still kept a pleasant look as if trying to give off a pleasant atmosphere when they would arrive to the area. She was then ordered to get the monk's some water or something. She would nod her head. "Yes sir." she nodded her head along with a small bow as she turned away and headed for the near by lounge in order to get some cups to fill up with water to bring back to the monks.

The old man holds up a hand and stops Jyn.

"Thank you but I'm sorry, there is little time for formalities... we will be leaving shortly... so please listen. I have to get back to my people to prepare. I am Zasyn Jin, one of the elders of the forest tribes. I have had a vision of the future: the city will be attacked by a great evil. This force is too much for my tribe to hold back so we will need your full assistance. Because I have foreseen the first moments of the attack, I can tell you where it will hit. The enemy will not anticipate our counter attack, so I have planned to have my clan create a barrier and fight. We will need your assistance, but even with your weapons, I fear it may not be enough to stop substantial damage to this city."

"What do you think they're doing?"

"Preparing a barrier. They're probably going to try to counter the first wave."

"Humans are sure perceptive aren't they?"

Kyrs and Imorte fly over the city. A fire-bubble barrier keeps them dry from the pouring rain. Krys holds a small kitty in her arms. Imorte wears a red and blank printed Kimono.

"Does this kimono make my hips look big?"

"I don’t' think that's a question a guy should ask."

"Well I need to know if I'm going to be on TV... how's my hair?"

"We're here."

"Oh... the silly the human barrier's in the way. What a pain. Shall you break it?"

"Me? Why do I have to do all the work?! Anyways, HE said not to worry about it."

The city metro barrier vanishes (yea... it just disappears! it'll take about 5 minutes to come back up). Imorte looks up.

"Thanks, boss."

Kyrs continues flying.

"...that's going to make the ants shit their pants. Ah! There's the building we need. Now which floor?"

Inside, the news team is in the process of covering local news on the 12th floor studio of the ElGoog tower.

"... I guess that's what you call a HOT DOG..."

"Hahaha, yes indeed. In other new... wait... what the hell?"

Imorte hovers outside the window and taps on it.

"Knock knock."

There is an explosion of fire and the window and wall explodes. The cold windy air from the outside blows into the studio. Krys's hand smokes. She and Imorte step into the studio. The anchors stand up.

"What... how... security!"

Kyrs frowns.

"Move it, you're in the way."

A large blast passes the camera. Security stops and thinks about if they really want to try to subdue them. Someone yells.

"It's the terrorists!"

Imorte and Kyrs step into view of the camera and sit down. Imorte crosses his legs. Kyrs sits Mr. Kibbles on the news table and leans on it.

"(Terrorists? The hell?) Quiet maggots. Anyways, anyone moves and they get it too!"

Imorte giggles.

"Keep rolling. Can you get my good side? Can you have the camera catch my left? For some reason my cheekbones are more alluring on that side."

The camera men look at the producer. He gives the signal to keep rolling. Krys sighs. She looks to the camera.

"Okay ants, listen up. We ain't terrorists, we're spirits!... ya ya, go ahead and wet your pants, we're real. We have magic powers and stuff and... we're coming to take over the world... or eat your kids or something."

"Ew... eating humans? How ungraceful."

"(Hush you! HE said improvise.) But look, we don't care about normals. You others out, demons trying to blend in with the normals... cut that shit out. We're taking over so get down or lay down."

"Oh my..."

"(You're not helping! Anyways!...) It doesn't matter if you're strong or weak. If you're a spirit living with the humans we'll forgive you for being dumb and let you join our new order. Leave your jobs and whatever, they won't do you any good when we destroy the city, so yeah... Don't worry, we won't try to absorb your power for some devious plan..."

"(That was three sagas ago...)"

"(What's a saga?... hey! Stop interrupting me!) Achem. This time you can actually work for us. Who are us? We are.... (Do I use Pillars?)"

"(Isn't that just the 6 of THEM.)"

"(I thought that was the 6 Pillars?)"

"(I don't know... that's pretty close... does The Pillars sound menacing? I think you'd have to say the whole thing with the THE in it)"

"(I don't know... I guess so....)"

Someone murmurs in the studio. The little black kitty, Mr. Kibbles blasts them away with a ball of fire and then licks himself.

"Please remain quiet on the set..."

"Okay, yes, we are The Pillars."

Imorte sits a phone down on the desk and the images and names of the 6 pillars pop out in a holograph. Kyrs continues.

"We serve Dem, the ruler of the underworld. We're all insanely strong and there's no one who can defeat us, blah blah. If you want cool points to work with us, then start killing off normals! Don't worry, Dem watches everything... he'll keep count for you."

"(He likes chaos!)"

"I think that about covers it. You'll know where to go to join us soon enough... just head to where all the chaos is happening and join in the fun. Do a good job and we might have a position open for you. Hmmm... Okay, that's all! Oh, normals... feel free to treat this as a joke (smile!). Have a wonderful apocalypse!"

The wind blows and they both vanish like they had never been there. The cat yawns and scratches behind his ear and then gets up. He squats down, strains and takes a shit. He digs back with his back paws, it covers the poo with paper, he walks off of the table and then hops out of the hole in the wall. The studio phone lines start ringing off the hook. People panic.

“We’re all going to die!”

“I’m still a virgin!”

“I don’t like watermelon flavored puckers!”

The broadcast played over the entire city. It was watched by physical spirits leading normal lives. Something big was about to happen in the city.

Sitting in my office at the Psi Voli Luxury Suites in East City, I receive reports about potential flooding in the Commons. Crystal still works for me, so I call her into my office. She walks in and looks at me. "How are you feeling, Psyre?" I point to the reports and the fact that the sewer system repairs have not been completed by the District Councilman and thus the Commons are in danger. How quickly can we construct something to protect those outside of the Beautification Community? Also, why have you still not produce a suitable name for the community?" Crystal's shoulders tense up as she begins to sense my anger growing. Crystal tells me that we never got approval for your subsidiaries' contracts to upgrade the irrigation, sewer, or flood systems. "What in the bowels of Solvay has the Council Member been doing?!" The anger in my voices triggers dark spirits to rise up from the ground and reach out for Crystal.

A voice from behind her speaks, "My Lord, control your temper. The scouts have reported several powerful spirit signatures around the area. They are unsure of what..." The Agent's voice trails off as she looks at the holographic monitor of the news coverage. Looking up from my papers and maps to try and find a solution to this problem, I rise from my chair as I see him and then her, Krys, I believe it was! She said his name was Imorte. I watch their announcement and when it concludes, the agent and Crystal both ask me what my plans are. I pause for a moment as I think about the options. "Joining them could be advantageous since I do not sense enough strong powers to truly battle against them. Still, they wish to destroy the city and that is a problem for me. This city is still my home. True, I have Xartias in Onitoshi, but it is not the same. Get word to Onitoshi to have my personal force assembled and ready to head to the Commons. We will go to the Den there and analyze our options further. Get the maps and everything. I still have further use for the Commons.

	Things had been quite boring lately. So much in fact. That Nagi was actually out during the day. It was possibly due to the fact that it was rather dark outside. But mainly he was a night person, for obvious reasons if you knew him. The half wylof half vaspire, strolled through the streets yawning almost every step. He was in a long coat, and his average tee shirt and jeans. His eyes were low and hair barely even touched. As he continued along the street he saw a crowd of people gathered in front of a store window. As he started to walk by he noticed they were all staring at the news. This didnt really interest him except that he just happened to take a second glance at the TV. It only took him a split second to realize it before the one on the screen verified it. Those were demons. He was then attentive to the broadcast that he had evidently just started. At the end of the two talking, everyone stood in shock for a moment before someone finally snapped and screamed. This caused a chain reaction and everyone panicked. One man raised his voice above the others. Causing everyone to stop and look at him. "Everyone listen! This can't be real! Don't be sucked into the media's attempts at higher ratings. This is all just a play to.." He was cut off by the sound of Nagi's almost hysterical laughter. "What the fuck is so funny!?" The man yelled furious. Nagi calmed down his laughter long enough to form words. "You all re fucking idiots and are fucking dead if you listen to this moron. That was very real, and if you value was little shit your lives are worth. You'll run and keep running. Don't stop and pray, dont look for your children or dog. Just run." His nose then suddenly sniffed the air and he glanced at his left. "And if you still dont believe me take a look at that guy over there." He said pointing to a man that was seemingly doubled over in pain. The man's back began to bulge and twist inhumanly. Then it suddenly exploded as a gigantic demonic looking mantis. The crowd instantly understood what was going on and took off screaming in all directions. Nagi held his spot though and the Mantis came directly at him. Nagi grinned. "Don't think just because you've come out of hiding that you can finally show some balls." He said, following a chant. "Dance with the shadow in the shadow's space." He spoke. The area around the mantis suddenly became very dark, and from the ground erupted hundreds of razor sharp dark objects. That tore the demon to pieces. Once it was defeated Nagi looked at the T.V. replaying the broadcast. "Guess i'll make my way to were that is. And do a bit of demon hunting along the way." He said walking down the street. Being on foot patrol with my partner for the day was quiet nice, despite the threatening skies and promise of rain. It had been a calm day, with little things to strike down on, except a drunken man trying to get something free in a liquor store and a wrongly parked car. We were closing in on the metro center as the rain started its merciless hail of water and both of us quickly sought refuge within the massive tower that was the city’s centre. Entering what seemed to the be reception, my partner laughed as he noticed how soaking wet I was – “Ohh Nikki, you look like a drowned cat” he continues to laugh as I walk up to him, pressing my body against his while I stare him in the eyes. “Shut up before I kick your ass” I reply with a sarcastic voice before looking towards the centre of the building, trying to locate a bathroom of some sort where I could fix myself up and maybe get to try my hair. Walking towards what seemed to be the reception, I would gently ask the woman behind. “Excuse me, but where can I find a bathroom?” I ask politely as I turn around while waiting for an answer and it is then that I notice three odd looking fellows that walked in, wearing what seemed to be robes of some sort. The sight made me curious as to who they were and what they were doing in a place like this.

I pause as the elder monk motions to interrupt me and, in turning back towards him and his entourage, I listen to what he has to say. His words were a bit troubling and an expression shows on my face that explains I both understand and believed the gravity of his words. Coming from the forest, I would have to bank on the fact that these people were spiritually inclined and had a better notion one what was about to happen compared to us; by this time, I accepted the fact that they were probably genuine. Using my sensing abilities, I was able to tell the elderly man standing in front of me had spiritual powers. Still I knew that the sensors on the borders surrounding the city should give us a fair warning if spirits were too close to the city, and in large number. With a light frown visible on my visage, I turn to one of the guards and inquire if anything had been picked up on the sensors thus far. After an answer is given, my gaze quickly returns to the elderly gentleman as I give a stern nod as I request, “I’ll believe your words for now and investigate into the matter. Where do you believe the attack will hit?” Hell, if it were outside of the city, I figured it would make life a lot easier to hit whatever was coming with our big guns. No one would really mind a crater outside of city limits; we could even make an attraction out of it.

As I await the response from the monk, which hopefully comes around now, something happens and an alarm is sounded within the Division. A guard quickly approaches to my side and murmurs, “sir, the barrier has been taken offline by an outside force.” My mind immediately wonders ‘what the fuck?’ The frown intensifies as I turn towards him, feeling a vibration at my hip where control would verify this fact. “Excuse me,” I pardon myself from the elder while requesting, “Izumi?” on her way back for her to speak with them on my behalf. From central control I am informed that the city barrier simply vanished with no explanation. “How long before it can come back online?” I request and am told 5 minutes. I begin to inquire, “give me a full status report. Are there any abnormalities…” Just as I say this, the receptionist draws my attention to the front desk. “Sir!” one of the guards says, “two spirit entities are reported in the Elgoog tower… they’re on TV.” Manifesting a holographic screen from the receptionist’s computer the broadcast is played out. I watch, slightly unsure what to make of it and in shock on how leisurely they are with the phone half way to my face as the status report comes in. “Shit…” I murmur lightly, hearing their plan. If the normal passive demons within society started attacking humans, then the city could erupt into chaos before the demon’s strike from the outside; this would force us to battle on two fronts. Hoping Izumi handled the priest and/or saw him off, since he had things to do, I would be forced to dismiss myself as orders needed to be given. I give the verbal command to place all active and off duty officers on-call and to give a status report of the city. I give the command to contact the police to work peace keeping efforts in the streets in case the spirit population of the city went on a spree of lawlessness.

Opening a portal to the Den of Chaos, I send everyone thru while I keep the portal open and once they are on the other side, I walk thru as well. Ruash is there waiting and the deep voice of the Wolyf spirit kin speaks, "Greetings, Master. The spirits on the TV have caused panic in the Commons and we fear that there will be rioting soon enough." I nod to him and tell my female Agent bodyguard with me to get me a steady update on the status of the Commons. Turning to Crystal, I address her, "Find out the capability of our resources to provide emergency flood support and protect the Commons against the storm. And hurry up with that." She bows and speaks, "At once, my Lord." As advisors start to arrive, we gather in the conference room and begin discussing options for which side to take. One of my other agents arrives and they tell me that the Onitoshi force is getting themselves combat ready. I nod to him and a Myztix bodyguard walks in to inform me that my forces are taking up placements around the district in order to observe the activities and provide speedy intel. Nodding to her, I ask for suggestions. "We have a major player that is calling out for spirits to help out and join with them against the humans. Now joining them, puts us in league with the side that has an obvious advantage, but it also puts us against the city we live in and could turn the humans against us." If we are able to help the humans well enough, it would put me in the position needed to seize power here as either The Commons' Council Member or even the seat of the Mayor. Tho, what good is it to be the Mayor of rubble?

Some days you are the windshield, some days you are the bug. Today is definitely an Alexis is the bug kind of day. From the moment my day began just after dawn, with a certain demon kitty tail tickling my nose and interrupting a very steamy dream involving her master, I have carried around a very bad feeling. Maybe being sensitive to some things makes me sensitive to more than I think. It almost seems like this day is destined to end up down the toilet... just like the earrings my vaspire beau gave me for our six month anniversary. Even the car was out to get me this morning, the darn thing did not want to start for anything. There were no odd sounds or anything to suggest something was wrong with it, it just didn't want to leave the garage. I think the car knew things would only get worse. Looking at the sky you could barely tell it was daytime, even now when it should be a bright and sunny afternoon the sky outside my office window is dark and menacing.

One client has already walked out today, not because of me but one of the now former members of my staff, so not only do I have a kiss up client meeting to look forward to later in the week but I also have to screen replacements for the former employee. I am so ready for this day to end, seriously, is it dinner time yet?

Another client is up in arms over some tiny clause in the contract that we discussed fifteen times over the course of our meetings but they apparently only noticed this morning. Twenty minutes of 'yes ma'am, I understand your concern, but...' and 'no ma'am, we most certainly did not intend to slip that clause by you...' it takes to calm the woman down and jog her memory of our lengthy discussions on the clause in question before she finally calms down and withdraws her concerns. After that I sink back into my chair, massage my throbbing temples, and pray for the day to end on a good note. Of course that is the time my assistant chooses to burst into my office and turn on my television without even asking if it alright with me. I sit up in my chair ready to mercilessly bitch her out for the move when I finally see what she has turned on. It was supposed to be the afternoon newscast but the two figures on screen (plus ugly cat) were definitely not the usual anchors.

Even before the two are done speaking I know the city is in serious trouble, not just from the impending rains threatening to flood the lesser cared for parts of the city that my assistant fills me in about, but from these no longer hiding spirits openly calling for others to rise up and help destroy it. Once the broadcast is over and I am trying to absorb what I have just heard, my phone begins to buzz on the corner of my desk. I pray that it is no more bad news as I reach over to answer the call from Crystal. There is a strong urge to beat my head against the hard wood of the desk while she speaks but I resist long enough to accept my task and end the call so I can begin the search for the answers she needs. Can this day possibly get any worse?

One good thing about nasty days like this, most people don't come out if they don't have to. This cuts down on the foot traffic in and out of the Information Center. Not many people are going to wander in looking for information when the bottom could drop out of the sky at any minute, and who really wants to come look for a job in the kind of weather that had Dorothy visiting Oz? Aside from rounds and helping the rare visitors with whatever they need, most of my day has been spent in the office. Catching up on paperwork and keeping an eye on the forecast mostly. If the weather got too bad and looked like it could pose a danger to us here or our employees on their way home we could call it an early day and evacuate the building so I have to stay abreast of the situation at all times.

I watched the odd and incredibly disturbing news report go down in live broadcast hoping it was all a prank but knowing in my gut that it wasn't. I knew the phones would start ringing off the hook soon enough and that I needed to let my guys know what had just happened. A little while later I was on the communication radio filling in every member of my security team at once when my office line began to ring. Summing up the situation for the guys, I cut the radio and picked up the phone. It was one of Mr. Prince's agents informing me of a security meeting taking place soon at the Den in the Lower Commons. Since I'd been watching news and weather reports throughout the day I knew the chances of the Commons flooding and wondered if that was really the best location for an emergency security meeting. Not being one to question the boss (because they became the boss for some reason, right?) I confirm to the agent that I will attend and replace the reciever. Another radio all call later to leave the appropriate men in charge of their respective areas, and I was on my way out the door to hopefully get in and back out of the Commons before the rains make the streets impassable.

What a day to stay curled up under the covers all day and watch tear jerking chick flicks... of course I am not lucky enough to be able to spend this ugly and ominous day doing anything of the sort. As a new mother recently back at work full time I don't have the luxury of watching pointless television anymore, I have to go out and make a living once again. At least I am lucky enough that I can have my son close at hand while I work, the downside of which is the fact that I manage a local East City bar. The bar owner, and my surrogate father figure, Ric is a good man who insisted that I switch to days after Jayden was born so I wouldn't be working all hours of the night leaving the boy's father to lose sleep getting up with him when he cries. Now I am not such a bad mother that I plop my son's car seat down on the bar and go about my business, Ric came up with the solution for that one too. He meets me at the bottom of the stairs every day I come in. There we transfer the baby filled car seat and various child care paraphenalia (diaper bag, bottle cooler bag, and travel breast pump bag) from my arms and shoulders to his. He takes Jayden up to his apartment over the bar for what he calls 'Pops time', even though the man admittedly thinks of me as a daughter he refuses to call himself a grandpa. It's sort of cute actually. So I stay down in the bar taking care of my managerial duties while my son and his only grandparent spend the day together. When it is time for me to take a break I head up the stairs and either feed my son if it is time or pump a bottle or two for later. So far this arrangement has been working just fine for everyone involved, even Ingel since it means the three of us are able to spend the evenings and nights together as a family.

So after I hand off my only child to my boss/stand in dad, I head to the office to knock the payroll out for the week before the regulars start trickling in to hold down their stools for the afternoon. Even nasty weather won't keep die hard patrons away from this place, hell even the city being attacked by terrorists or hellhounds has not managed to do that. These men are dead set on getting their daily alcohol quota met. After payroll is settled for the week and the orders have all been made, I emerge from the office and start setting up the bar. Since the crowds don't usually arrive until dinner time Ric and I both feel it best to let me handle the bar for the few hours in the afternoon. There isn't much point in paying our night tender extra to come in early for little to no business when I used to handle the bar from open to close by myself before getting pregnant.

I always like to catch the news while setting up the bar, it keeps me informed of what is going on around the city and gives me background noise when the bar is way too quiet. When I turn it on they seem to be talking about the weather and the possibility of the Lower Commons flooding. Hearing that makes me very glad that Ingel moved out of the Commons and got a place here in East City a while ago, I would hate to have to worry about him on a night like this... then I remember that his job usually takes him anywhere in the city where there is trouble so he'll probably end up there before the night is over anyway. So much for that not worrying thing. Getting back to work I tune out the television for a while until one of the first regulars through the doors happens to speak up and let out a startling 'What the fuck?!'. Since this came from the mouth of the man everyone calls the Preacher I know to turn immediately and see what has him so upset.

I watch the interrupted broadcast with a slack jaw, I know a bit about spirits living in and attacking this city but my regulars are normal people, most of them couldn't even see the hellhounds when they attacked. For these two spirits to show themselves on city wide television I know something big is about to happen. I am fast approaching my 'enough is enough' point with this city. When I was little and the only strange stuff was centered around my sister I could deal with that, but now that it seems to be all over this city and every time I turn around... this new mother is seriously beginning to consider relocation.

Crystal hangs up the phone and walks back into the conference room and looks at me. "I have Alexis looking into the matter, sir. I'm sure she will have a response quickly." I glance over at her and nod. "She is to stay at the Tower in City Metro. I do not want her in harm's way. Is that understood?" Crystal nods and pulls out her phone to text Alexis to remain at the corporate headquarters where it should be safer. The male agent walks in and informs me that the security heads are en route to the Den for the meeting. I look at him and telekinetically raise him up in the air against the back wall. "Are you really that stupid?!" Dropping him on the ground, I bark his following orders, "Text them all and tell them to use their holo conference systems to attend this meeting. Except for Jasper, since you're acting like a moron today, I need someone competent besides Ruash and Vivian. Crystal, open a portal for Jasper." (Void - Portal used) The portal would open in front of Jasper's car so that he could just take the portal instead for much quicker travel to the meeting. I use the holographic image system built into the table to bring up a map of The Commons. I stand up in the center of the table and try to figure out how to drain mass amounts of water. Every path and strategy leads me to one conclusion... certain areas would have to be sacrificed in order to protect the majority of The Commons. It might have to be a necessary evil. While the agent is outside getting a hold of the other security heads, I try to figure out which areas would be best to sacrifice and how we can quickly evacuate those residents and any vital buildings that may be located there. The City Council Member is a useless waste of space these days.

Spirits around the city talk about The Pillars. The message reaches the rich and the poor. Gangs, groups and small organizations of spirits are interested in the new developments. A lot of them wonder if the broadcast is real or if it was a hoax. Many spirits that were comfortable in life are skeptical, but the crazy ones... they buy into the hype 100%. The city makes precautions. The broadcast is viewed as a warning. The security of the city and city officials increase because of that. The council members are retreated to a secret place to privately (and safely) meet on the issue.

Zasyn Jin answers Commissioner Jyn.

"They will attack from the south west corner of the city. The entire south west corner... I am leaving now, thank you for your cooperation."

He addresses Izumi.

"Thank you for the water, young lady. We have a lot of work ahead of us."

The monks take the water with them. They quickly go to the door, and exit, running out into the rain. The status report comes from the control center. The guy on the phone relays the information to Commissioner Jyn.

"There were two demons picked up entering the barrier, but we lost track of them. The barrier is back online now, sir. There is no indication that there are any spirits inside the City Metro barrier. Our defense grid is back online, so if they are inside the Metro, they'll be filled with holes. We will be able to track spirits within East City with the secondary barrier.... Reports show the CMB was not taken down by force. Right now the engineers are looking for answers... We are in the process of issuing orders to the police forces. We're asking for all officers to be put on active duty status... Our cameras have already picked up abnormal activity in streets and building complexes. We are trying to gain control of what few cameras (Psi Voila) are in the Lower Commons... We do not have estimates on the number of internal threats and it is scattered around the city. The mayor is on the line... would you like me to transfer him, sir?"

Spirits transform in broad daylight (or rain light). Not a lot of people are outside because of the weather. The hunt starts and unlucky people who are outside are attacked. Gangs of spirits take to the streets looking for easy targets. Property is attacked too. Cars are flipped and spirits just do whatever the hell they want to. Other spirits in apartment complexes, etc, attack other people randomly in their buildings. Rain and lightning continues and adds to the apocalyptic scene.

It wouldn't be easy for the city forces to cover the entire city. All cops are paged to be on standby. All actively patrolling cops get assignments to report to Gothstone, Northern Heights, Gunsyhne or East City. Assignment depends on what area they're close to. The reason is emergency peace keeping efforts. Future 911 calls tell the dispatchers where officers needed to go. Division 12 wait on their orders.

A group of demons (6) dressed like human thugs see what Nagi did. They walk up and surrounding him. They are all vaspires.

"Hey, bro. What's your problem? You heard the people. Norms are the enemy, why are you attacking spirits?"

"Maybe we should kick his ass and teach him a lesson."

"You got perdy lips, boy!"

Imorte and Krys hover in the air over the city in their fire bubble. Imorte talks to The Leviathan and Rayje telepathically.

"Ok, let's start!"

The Leviathan stands in the air at the border of the city with Marcos in the same place they were at. He looks at Marcos.

"It's time for us to move."

Marcos and The Leviathan start flying into the city. Rayje stands in the forest with her arms folded. Tiamat stands beside her with her fan covering her face. A massive army of Yokai and lesser demons is in front of them.

"Time to go! Let's go! Move it, move it! Everyone get their asses to the city!"

@ kaz: good question. if it wasn't proposed in the infrastructure before the saga began (i.e. someplace i woulda seen it) they'd be up the river. i'm guessin they can produce sandbags and stuff using sand and bags... i didn't think your company was that type of company. the places where you built up would prolly have better foundation work, etc. you can try housing citizens in your buildings (i think you made like a ymca thing or something. it should hold a lot of ppl).

Phase I - New Direction (Heavenly Manifestation Arc) Sakuku_01

It had been quite some time since I had gone anywhere since I had been hurt. Though I knew that the demon that possessed me was there to protect me should I ask it, I was still wary. I hadn't even gone to work, calling in sick many times. It was hard to lose a friend for me that I had had for a time. My emerald eyes would glance around at the walls around me, then to a window- the rain was pounding and there was lightning and thunder. Was I still okay to be doing this sorts of thing? A low sigh would escape my lips before I would slowly stand up and walk to the door. It was time that I get out of the house for a day. Maybe that would cheer me up?

I would move through the door as my possession was thinking about speaking with me. I was finally just leaving my room, but for all he knew, I was just moving away and then turned to where my mother was sitting in her chair. I could hear the television was on the news, mostly about the weather. I seemed to pause in a moment of wondering if I should talk to her. Another low sigh flew from my lips and I walked towards the chair, listening to the news as I was walking towards her. I was about within range when I saw the screen- the news anchors and security blasted back. My eyes widened as I stopped in my tracks.

"Well, that looks interesting Sakura. Should we head over there?"

I was terrified, however. That previous blast- the one used by the songbird- had hurt me much more psychologically then physically, something the bird herself had healed. I didn't know what to do- just like that night. It was also raining, just like that night. I would have to pull myself together though as Ryota must have forgotten the entire thing. After all, he was centuries old, such an event would likely not even effect him. He seemed to be looking at me within myself- at something only he could see. I would place a hand on my head and then got close to my mother.

"I'm going out Mom. I'll be careful and have Dawson drive. I want to go and get a few new dresses."

My mother would simply wave me away. Well, that was an improvement. I would smile lightly and move towards the door before Dawson got it first, opening it as he seemed to not want to do this. I would simply place a hand behind my head as I moved out and waited for him to get the car. Twice lightning flashed and thunder boomed. Yet... as I looked towards the forest, something caught my eye. Figures in the sky... I would look at the car as it came up, walking to it after Dawson came to me, with an umbrella. I would slip into the car and looked down as we started out.

"Um...Dawson, could we go towards the forest? Please?"

There was a nod, but I knew that he didn't want to do that. I would turn on the tv that was in the limo and watched it- it had been a few minutes since mom's tv, so I wondered if the one who blasted in was still on. I tuned into the part where the kitten blasted someone with fire, killing them. I would listen as one of two new people affirmed that they were the...Pillars or something like that. I would raise my eyebrow before Ryota seemed to have spoken up.

"Oh fuck... we are so boned... I hope those two ain't who I think they are."

I would wonder what he meant as I would go back to the t.v., as I wondered what was going on. I seemed to have missed the most important part- many spirits might have, actually. I was worried for the rest of it. What was this, a joke for the spirits? My eyes narrowed as I would look down at my hands. They were shaking as though I were cold, and that might be so. I would close my eyes before pulling out some Gothic style gloves and pull them onto my hands as I would narrow my eyes ahead. I may not be able to fight, but I could heal. Yes, that would be it... and Ryota could protect those coming back to get healed. Of course, Dawson would likely run away- I knew that he was a coward in face of such things.

Several of the other security chiefs appear via holo projections to attend the meeting. Some of them are rather unsettled and reporting that riots and random attacks are taking place all around the city. Knowing that we will need to act quickly and decisively, I issue the standing order to my forces to protect neutralize all threats to the humans in all vital areas. "Crystal!" She steps forward, "Yes, Mr. Prince." Her phone rings and she silences it. I control my scowl to issue new orders to her. "Get a message to the news stations on TV as well as over the Realm 2.0 systems. Issue a statement to the demons..." I pause for a moment. "Why the hell would we help the humans though? What have the humans done to help us?" The Den IT Specialist turns to me and raises his hand, "Ex - excuse me, Mr. Prince. I don't mean to interrupt you, but the City Metro Police Special Division is trying to gain access to our cameras here in the Commons. What would you like to do?" One of the security chiefs speaks up and says, "Sir, you could speak with them. Perhaps, find out if they have any plans to help the people in The Commons or even the spirits who do not wish to join with the demons. If they choose to persecute them further then you will know which side to ally yourself with."

Nodding to the security chief, I actually really like that idea. "Den Tek, can you reroute our surveillance cameras around the district to here? Also, make sure that they have working sound." The IT Specialist nods to me and begins working. While he is doing that, I focus on the map and isolating certain parts of the district that to me aren't worth saving. The video feed comes up and access is given to Division 12 while I am issuing orders to my security teams, "Here are your orders. Mobilize your Neutralizer teams. Any demon that kills humans is to be eliminated. If we Gatherers in the area, collect the bodies. All R'Churs, you have full green lights within The Commons. Units in East City, safeties off, round in, hold fire. You shoot only if in lethal danger. Move defense teams to our buildings and start evacuating people from danger zones to our structures. As you can see on the map, we currently don't have the resources or manpower to handle all flood zones, so we will focus on the marked locations. Open the Academies and move as many people into them as we can. Get food, clean water, and med supplies ready. Tell the students that they are on duty tonight. We will protect The Commons." The IT Specialist aka "Den Tek" had also provided access to the second half issuing orders to protect the Commons to district channels and broadcasts. Hopefully people would know where to find safety.

Interaction: Division 12's Comm Room

After taking another bite of my burger I set the sandwich back onto its wrapper and reach over, picking up my drink as I glance around at the rest of the people who had fled from the pore weather to get into the restaurant and have a bite to eat or simply escape the rain. The tv's in the restaurant all broadcast the same channel, the news which kept talking about rain that appeared to continue the rest of the day, unfortunately. " This weather sucks. " I grumble lightly to myself after swallowing the bit of chewed up burger. Keeping my gaze fixed on one of the tv's I bring the straw up to my lips and begin to take a sip of the soda inside the cup. After taking a sip I set the drink back onto the table and pick up my burger before taking another bite. As I take another bite and continue to eat my meal I turn my attention away from the tv, since their was nothing but rain in the forecast their was no real reason to keep my attention fixed on the weather, instead it would be best to think of something else, though the only other main thing on my mind at the moment aside from my girlfriend and son is my job, which I knew I would have to get back too soon since my lunch break would be ending fairly soon. With a sigh I glance down at my watch to see what time it happened to be so I would know how much time I had left to enjoy the dry weather inside the restaurant. When I hear the word 'terrorist' come from the tv closest to me I lift my gaze and look to the tv, wonder and fear building with in me as to why the word was mentioned. Looking to the tv I watch as two people come into view, though they were not the normal news broadcasters, instead they were foreign people. Keeping my gaze on the tv, I listen to the two and watch them and as I listen to them I begin to wonder more and at the mention of spirits I frown faintly. " Shit.. " I say, casting my gaze away from the tv and glancing around at the other people in the restaurant. It seemed they could see and hear the people on the tv like I could. I began to get a bad feeling in my stomach about what I am hearing and quickly I raise from my seat fast enough to knock it back and onto the ground. Reaching over to the empty seat next to me I grab my coat and slip it on before I make my way out of the restaurant and back to the patrol enforcer I had taken for the day. Once in the enforcer I start it up and put it into gear before pulling out of the parking lot and onto the road. Luckily with the storm raging the amount of traffic that normally drove through the city had been reduced. Pulling onto the road I begin my journey, not sure what is going on I decide to head to HQ to see if Jyn is up to speed and what he wants to do.

The first search of the company's database led to nothing more than assurances that every building owned was well insured against flood damage. A fat lot of good that does me now that I am looking for ways to prevent or somehow deal with an impending flood. Combing through the vast and varied resources this highly successful company has at its disposal only turns up crap. We have nothing at the ready to deal with a flood before it happens. The only options we, as a company can offer would be to utilize our own buildings as shelters, try to build up sand bag barriers to protect as much property as possible in the short time we have, and mobilize rescue teams to be ready when the shit hits the fan. All of this information is forwarded to Crystal's phone in response to the text that orders me to stay put here at HQ, most likely a direct order from Psyre himself. Even though the man has changed quite a bit since I first met him, he seems to always retain that big brother mentality that makes him think I need to be protected.

I hadn't even gotten a block away from the Information Center when a large portal opened up in the middle of my lane. Now most people would swerve to avoid some random portal that would lead them god knows where but since I work for Mr. Prince and know him to be a bit on the dramatic side, I am led to assume that this is his manifestation and that I am meant to drive into it. Of course my assumption is correct as the portal leads directly to the parking area to the side of the Den building. Since I have arrived at my destination I waste no time in jumping out of the car and jogging to the door. Once inside I shake the rain from my hair and proceed toward the din of voices where I figure everyone is gathered for the security meeting. I do hope that the voices aren't a sign that I am late in arriving, surely not, I couldn't be late after traveling by portal, could I?

Entering the room I get there just in time to hear the second half of Psyre's orders and curse myself mentally for not arriving sooner. It doesn't really matter now that I would not even be in the Lower Commons yet had that portal not been sent for me. Since I was not being directly addressed I would remain silent until I am.

The emergency broadcast system kicked in all over a the TV tower had made sure everyone could see this, and the demon's she had seen before had shown themselves on it. Their words, their threats, their purpose. These were her targets to destroy in order to restore the balance, Izumi was a bit upset by this, but kept her cool as she wasn't suppose to get herself worked up, it went against everything that she had grown up learning. A Hiramoto clan member is one who is always centered and cool and under control in order to handle situations of all kinds.

This was definitely a high code red alert and Izumi glanced toward's Jyn who was busy on the phone and she was left, after she had given the water to the monks, they didn't stay for long soon after telling Jyn of where the attack was coming from and they quickly left. Izumi would look to Jyn, rather a bit worried about what was going on. Hell was going to be brought to hell and there was going to be a lot of fighting and death on both sides. She would keep quiet as she would wait for Jyn to speak up.

Jasper arrives and I nod to him before going on with what I was saying. Crystal closes the portal now that Jasper is here before she leans over to check her phone and smiles as she receives word from Alexis, but when she gets the email with the data confirming her fears about the inadequacies of the company's resources to handle some like a flood, her smile quickly sours and she looks up at me. This is not going to be well received. She transfers the file to the Den's holo systems' hard drive so that I could see it as well whenever I finished talking.

Crystal leans over as if she is trying to bring Jasper up to speed once I stop talking and whispers to him, "He is in quite a foul mood already, so just be forewarned." Crystal had grown used to taking the brunt of my animosity and short temper, so she generally tried to spare others from being targets if she can.

... Location: Future Realm, Division 12 HQ

I nod respectfully while keeping the phone to my ear offering verbal thanks to the monks as they take their leave to make their own preparations. With their arrival, we had an upper hand in knowing where to focus our resources preemptively. With the arrival of the ‘terrorists’ on TV, I had no doubt in my mind that the monks were on the money with their prediction. I listen carefully to the information that is given to me for the status report, taking in what we knew so far in the early stages of this possible crisis. I was a bit relieved that the barrier was back up, but very unsettled that it had vanished with no explanation.

With the monks heading out, it was time for me to move as well. I look to the security guards and order, “secure the HQ and prepare internal countermeasures.” The HQ security forces would make sure that the HQ was safe, while the outward units would focus on the threat outside of the Metro. The receptionist seemed lost for words, so I off handedly answer the wet female officer, “public restrooms are down the east hall and to the right. Be quick about it and report to your assigned area.” By this time, someone in security would have scanned them already to verify they were actually cops, which was a little convenient for them. The male and female police officers should have seen the news and heard everything; they would be getting beeps, pages, and or calls any moment with their orders on where to go and what to do. Given their local, they would probably be called to secure residential areas in nearby East City. So long as the barrier was active, the core of the city, City Metro, would be safe from outside and inside threat.

I would begin walking with purpose towards the western wing of the building and towards the elevator with the motor cage as my target. The controller continues to speak in my ear and as he speaks, I transfer the audio to my earpiece, which I retrieve from my pocket and place into my ear. In passing, I ask Izumi to follow me and contact Ingel and my, or rather -his- now, team to meet me in the motor cage and prepare to deploy to and scout out the south western region of the Lower Commons; I would be leading this fight from the front lines.

I would then return my attention to the voice over the earpiece, hearing that the mayor was on the phone. “No,” I answer when asked to transfer. I felt the last thing I needed to do was waste time giving a report to a politician; “advise that I am very busy, give him a status report, answer all of his questions and tell him that the situation is being investigated with a high level of urgency.” I would be allotted a small window of time to think as the message is patched through to the major. With the target area being the Lower Commons, I knew that chances were we wouldn’t have a lot of equipment set up other than the border that surrounded the city. With that in mind, I issue the order to the controller, “send out armed air drones immediately and search all the way to the south western edges of the forest. I want to know if anything his happening in that part of the city, in the fields beyond the city, or in the forest.” After that order is issued and confirmed, I am updated that the police were in the process of mobilizing to the streets and answering emergency calls. Things had started to get bad already.

As I near the elevator, my gaze shifts to the window as I emit a “tsk” along with “what shitty weather for this.” I would allow Izumi or one of the guards to summon the elevator as I continue to listen to the command center who advises that the Psi Voli Corporation was becoming proactive in mitigating complications by mobilizing their resources. An audio patch is played for me and I am able to understand their efforts. I felt it was nice that a corporation was actually trying to do something to assist civilians rather than trying to protect its buildings and assets. Since resources would be run thin, I would not opt to have central command issue assistance so them; they seemed capable of what they were attempting to do.

Once the elevator arrives, I walk into it and turn with my back to the rear of the elevator. I would expect Izumi to enter in with me. When she did, I would give a soft grin and confess, “I’m leaving it up to you to keep me safe, babe.”

~Phase I - New Direction~

There is a loud crack of thunder that shacks the window followed by the roar of the rain as it comes down. The half of the slender frame of my nude body rest on the left side of Seiki’s body with an arm across his chest locking in under his own, my smooth thigh drape over his torso with a leg wrapped between his, and my head rest on his shoulder as my long hair fans out across the remaining part of the bed. My eye opens slightly to look at the rain running down the window as there is another flash of lightning with crack of thunder. I groan in complaint as my eye closes and I bury my face into Seiki’s neck, snuggling closer to him as I protest the ideal of getting having to get up. I am still sleepy from late night, the covers feel soft, I am nice and warm with Seiki as my pillow, and I didn’t even miss not having my stuff rabbit with me right now. Even if I wasn’t still sleepy I wouldn’t want to get out of bed right now. I don’t have class today and I wouldn’t go with it raining like this anyway. I don’t even think I would get out of bed even if the apocalypse was coming and a big meteor was going to fall on the city and blow everything up… ok maybe I would get out of bed for something like that but I wouldn’t be happy about it.
