Landing back on the bed after a short hop I shove my feet back underneath the covers praying that some of the warmth had survived both of us leaving for a moment. Most of the heat had escaped in the short time since I'd left but the covers were still many times warmer than the floor had been.

Once they enter the door I wave the servants over and make polite conversation as is expected of a genteel lady. The talk was brief, just the usual 'good morning' and 'did you sleep well' that can fill the silence while the breakfast is being set up, after that is finished they turn to leave as quickly as they arrived leaving me alone with my suddenly pensive husband.

Moving my arm to hand him the plate of food, I smile and begin to wrap up my assurances, meaning to end on a note somewhere along the lines of telling him to cheer up and eat. As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and so my own intentions were thwarted by a sudden wave of light headedness accompanied by a touch of nausea.
