Murder 2

Come to me my angel of darkness...

Adrian sat up when he heard the demon's voice in his head again and sighed, rubbing his eyes. He checked the clock and groaned when he saw that it read four in the morning. Sighing he got up and dressed before going up to the roof again. His skills had improved since the last time he had met with her but he knew he wasn't strong enough to take her down yet. Or that's what she wanted him to think.

He pushed the door open and saw her standing on the edge of the building. He moved to stand beside her and sat down, his legs dangling over the ledge as he stared out at the horizon in the distance, clearly able to see the edge of the western forest.

"What can I do for you this time?" he asked

"You're quite good at what you do. But the runes you wrote were incorrect. And next time take the head off beause they might survive." she said.

"I stabbed him through the heart. He wouldn't have survived long if he didn't die in the intial attack." he countered.

"But next time what if their heart is on the left? Taking the head off kills everyone regardless of backwards organs." she said, smirking darkly.

"Whatever. Who do I kill this time." he asked

"This time we don't have a special person. We want you to kill an innocent. A virgin. Someone completely and utterly innocent. A pure one."

"A child?"

"Very good! You could easilly have killed a pure adult but a child is easier to find. Very nice."

"Fine. I'll do it. But I'm still waiting on you to repay me for the last murder."

"You received your payment ahead of the murder. You were trained in the demonic delayed strike ability. Your cut was enhanced by our training."

"Fine. When do you want it done?"

"When you can do it. I want you to do the same to them. Pentagram with their body as the star. And their blood used for the markings. But this time I want you do it in the lower commons to collect a vial full of this person's blood."

Adrian just nodded this time, staring down at the street below. He sighed, running a hand through his hair as he took it all in. He closed his eyes and rose to his feet and turned, walking away. He went to his room, grabbing his coat, paint brush. He would have to get there as soon as possible to make sure the target was in fact pure. And in the lower commons that would be a rare thing. He had come to terms with the deal he had made, but regardless this was going to be the hardest thing to do. Slaying a child would never be okay even in his mind. But he had no choice. The blood on his hands was already there. His soul was already corrupted, and with every kill it became more so.
