Wake Up Hate Empty
PostSubject: Wake Up Hate   Wake Up Hate EmptyFri Aug 21, 2009 3:31 am

The oni stood by himself this night, deciding to get in some training on his own this time. Though Yon was certainly a powerful warrior and about as good as a trainer as any, Shou needed to concentrate on his own magics instead of yearning for powers he didn't have. The spiritual arts were a formidable magic against oni, but he was certain he could bring his fires up to a deadly level. Indeed, he was discovering new ways to use the flames to his use, beyond the fyreball from which he had started out with. He was able to engulf his own body in fire that would harm his opponents but not himself. Flamewalls were ever convenient in blocking away an oncoming attack, or sealing an opponent into a container of the techniques. His favorite one so far had been the whirl of flames he could conjure around an enemy, the close range of heat would harm them as they were trapped within the swirls.
All basic techniques, something the fire demon he faced the other night had mimicked, and then some. The heat blast that had cut through the flamewhirl was a defining example.. yes, there were magics in his field that were stronger yet, and he was intending to unlock them within himself. Of course he was capable of these things, he just couldn't find the strength within himself to push himself beyond.
Closing his eyes, he said no chants, merely concentrating his magical abilities within himself, meditating almost, by any one else's standards. He lifted his hand out in front of him, the palm of it growing a bright red. Shou could feel the heat coming forth from his palm, opening his eyes once more. He had only been revealed to this technique once, and it had been used against him.. the ferocity of the blast is what had interested him in learning it.
The fire demon's chant of the spell had been unclear to him, but he knew it came from a chaotic being, something he couldn't put to understanding. No, he would have to make his own chants. "Infernal flames.." The oni stopped himself, noting that there were no fires involved in this move. He sighed, seeing the complication, and all ready cancelled his first attempt at a chant, seeking new words.
"Infernal magics.." Shou started once more, focusing the magic into his hand, concentrating on bringing the temperatures up as he could feel the heat rising. "Come forth and roast!" The oni suddenly thrusted both of his hands forward, his head tilting low and his eyes closed, concentrating on pushing out his magical powers. The only thing that shot outwards was a fyreball, and Shou cursed to himself.
Yes, he was excellent in the fields of fire, he could conjure flames as if they were nothing, even able to stand atop of them in the middle of the air, used as platforms in his flight. Changing the heat of something was a little trickier, he noted now. Perhaps more specific words would bring about that desired spell.
"Hmm.. temperatures risen, roast my opponent!" A blast emitted from his hand, one that dissipitated mere instants from being conjured, but left Shou catching his breath. He had done it, had felt the power of heat leaving his being and outward. The magic had been performed, though weakly and insufficient for battle needs. Shou smiled, seeing himself go in the right direction to learn something that had been unknown to him only moments before. Yes, he intended to be on equal footing in his next meeting with the fire demon he had encountered, the one that had overpowered him mercilessly.
Shou briefly wondered about the vaspire that night, the one that had aided him. Realizing there was no sense, he continued with his practices, figuring he'd meet the vaspire once again if the fates allowed it. The chant he had composed seemed to work in conjuring the spell, concentrating on his own magical energies to train the technique so that it would be effective. "Temperatures risen, roast my opponent!" Shou thrusted his glowing red palm outwards once more, the heat emission blasting forth, a wave of mirage in the air that shot out slightly further this time. Shou sighed lightly, before nodding, content with his turn out of the spell. That was as far as he could get it, and it wasn't much distance, but something like this close range.. it was quite a destructive force, being hit by these sorts of heat.
Shou glanced around, wishing he had something to test his new ability out on. He seemed at a loss before the forest came within his sight, a smirk coming to his face. Of course.. he was foolish to not have thought of it immediately. The oni took off across the field, eventually sloping his trek with discs of fire that sent him into the air. Shou came to be above the trees looking down, not fearing any of the lower order spirits that resided within these parts of the wood, so he didn't feel the need to conceal his presence. Besides, baiting himself out like this was the perfect way to attract some demon's attention and try out the ability.
Something snapped forth from the ground then, coming from the darkness of the trees as a set of teeth intent on snapping him up. Shou pushed off a disc of fire, sending himself further into the air while turning to face the demon below him. It was in the shape of a giant fish with sharp canine teeth and Shou thought the spirit shape interesting. Never before had he seen a fish spirit.. not that it mattered, all would eventually be equal before him. "Temperatures, rise! Roast my opponent!" The oni thrusted his arm out before him, the blast coming in heatwaves once more that took the fish in its wake.
The spirit's eyes went wide once the heat overtook it, and the blast itself came slightly afterwards, sending it back down into the forest and crashing through several branches before its crash into the ground below. Shou smirked at his work, though noted the drain in his stamina from using such a move. The power costed him, then, he noted. That wasn't any repulsion to such a technique, though, as Shou was much more content with himself knowing he possessed such a power.
Deciding he would return to the commons now, rather than chancing more demon fights with his considerably low energy, Shou turned and headed back home via his method of flight.
