In The Dark

A figure stood, purple and priestly in raiment, her gaze settling on the distant carnival. As things had worked out, she'd needed to use the restroom and the portable blue boxes they had for the purpose at the festival offended her sensitive nose to such an extent she'd been driven to inquire at the local businesses. It wouldn't be hard, she reasoned, if she simply found something she wanted to buy. With the hurry she'd excused herself in, and right after presenting a sword to him too, she couldn't be sure her friend had followed her, but she would apologize later, such matters were emergencies and had to be taken care of with haste, since she'd have to presumably buy something first.
Stopping at the first brick store she saw that wasn't an obvious restaurant, she ran in to find herself, surrounded by lingerie.
Almost tripping over the door in her haste to escape, she slammed the door behind her and leaned hard against it as though trying to hold back some great force, a blush and panicked expression covering her face. "Goodness..." she exclaimed quietly, thinking next time she should read the sign before she went running into a building.

In that moment, feeling the other's hand on her head, the situation dawned on her. Her hands were cupped gently about this demon's testicles, his hand running through her hair. She didn't move at first, and didn't respond to the question, though she'd heard it. The only thing to change about her over the course of several seconds was the rapid redding of her face.
Quick, fast, and in a hurry, she whirled 180 degrees, not standing up, but bowing to the ground so low her nose almost touched her knees, her hands out in front of her, clasping her rosary as she cried out in the standard language, "Forgive me, Bleaus!"

One... two... three... the spirit counted off the beads in her rosary to help her meditate on her prayers, but the voice of the oni drowned out her thoughts. Odd that such a creature would have this power, as even a crashing train lacked the ability to interrupt her supplications.
Clearly the words were spoken in ignorance, Atilla decided, recalling scriptures about people perishing for lack of knowledge. Standing to her feet, she dusted off her shins and felt the need to answer the question posed by her... boyfriend, as it were.
Holding up a bead of the rosary, she indicated its roundness. "Do you see this circle? It looks like a perfect curve, doesn't it? In fact, it's composed of infinite straight edges, infinitely small. Can you visualize that? Can you hold eternity in your hand as I hold this bead? People can't comprehend eternity, and most spirits can't. Bleaus is the only spirit of infinite age, as he is himself eternity, the eternity that defines time, as he was the only one around for all of that. Every particle in creation has a limited amount of energy in it. This universe is transient, it boils and flows with the inflections of time. Bleaus's power is infinite, his mind exists outside of and above time, even the time you and I, spirits who live for eons before reincarnation as a human, must only have our being within the stream, though we are not bound to this plane of Yochi, time itself is a plane we cannot ascend above or transcend, for it's the sole domain of my God. Could you imagine something limitless like that, something with infinite energy and pure power descending to this plane of transience and dirt? Heaven can hardly contain him, much less a sinful place such as Yochi. If he were to come here, all impurities would be driven out before him like the wind drives away the sand, and do you know how many dirt vessels, how many human bodies that would destroy? No, it would turn the world upside down, turn it into Koutaku-shi. Bleaus, in his infinite grace, wishes to give people choices and free wills, though he could purify it all with a mere descent. He sends one such as me, who he's allowed to experience the wonders of a oneness with my creator, sends me forth into the world to share my good thing..."
She was on quite the roll and had to pause to take a breath, looking at the oni but avoiding his eyes.

Not noticing the smirk that drew up the corner of the other's mouth, she continued on, oblivious to the fact that he didn't seem to be getting the same point she was trying to make. "Oh, his power is all that and more. His strength could hold the east and the west together, could make them one. He binds together opposing forces and uses them to create worlds. It's impossible to describe in mere words his outright power. It's incomprehensible, raw power surrounding and upholding our world and consciousnesses. Were it not for his grace, we would be consumed."

Preparing for another volley of enlightening, old school ministry, she found the other oni suddenly either got the point or lost interest. She stood there, blinking for a moment before returning her rosary to its former place, her more assertive persona melting as she did so. "Alright..." she spoke in her gentle monotone, her hand reaching out to take his. "I think it's that way..."
