Saddle Up to Take out the Trash

During life there were things here and there that I found unpleasant to learn. The first was that the stove and other things that held heat were hot. Another was that you had to exercise in order to stay in shape. Then there was the lesson that you had to put up with people in order to move through society as normal. Recently there was something else that I learned that was unpleasant, and it was the fact that my boss’s bosses had some type of mental deficiency. It was the only explanation I could come to due to the fact that they thought it would be a good idea to allow an A classed demon to be released from our custody. For a moment, I started to regret not simply killing him, but that might have drawn complications with my working environment.

Thus, the order was given to my squadron and me to escort the demon out of the city. The call was given ahead to the basement holding areas that I would be coming down to get him. A van was prepped for the mission and as far as I was concerned, it would be a simple transaction to deposit the demon out of the city limits and wave good riddance to him. My team should be waiting for me in the parking garage under the direction of Ingel as I headed down to pick up the prisoner. After passing into the secure zone and navigating the lower levels, I come into the sector where the demon was held. I wasn’t necessarily happy, but that obviously didn’t matter at the moment. I nod to the guards who open the door for me. After the door opens, I look in to the prisoner.

I laid there in the floor, wondering why nothing had changed since my agreement to be released. I opened my eyes at the sound of a knock on the door, probably a dead bolt of some kind, followed by a screech of iron on iron as the door swung open. Who should grace my presence? None other than mcHappyPants, the human wonder. It puzzled me how he managed to actually come down here himself instead of sending one of his subordinates. I closed my eyes for a moment, visualizing a little place in paradise. I would have full political immunity inside the city now.. the thought of that brought a light smile to my face. It wasnt anything chaotic or reckless, but was instead amused at the thought that I could finally get my current dealings under weigh. The last person to come in here only brought me a little tray of food, and was boring as all others. Slowly, my lips parted, releasing a short breath of air, reverberating with a light yawn. Finally, my eyes opened once again, and stayed open.

"Afternoon Sarge.. Or is it morning?"

I had gotten word from Jyn that we were going to be escorting the demon we had captured out of the city and setting it free. I had mixed feelings about this, on one hand, I was glad that we were letting the demon go, you could say, it didn't seem like the type that went around killing people needlessly, however it was still a demon and I still had some reservations about them even though I had begun to think differently towards some of them. While waiting for Jyn, I glanced at my watch to check the time before looking to the other members of our team, I knew they probably didn't like this and neither did Jyn, but we couldn't do anything about it since the order came from the higher ups, this demon must had had some good information in order to get let go..

Beneath that facial hair now garbed by the demon, I could imagine would be a smug smile. His tone seemed jovial as ever as I am welcomed to which I correct, “Captain.” He wasn’t much of a sight by this point. To me, it seemed as if he could pass for a hobo on the streets; it would be hard to understand that he was a dangerous demon. I counter his welcome with, “you smell. Congratulations. Get to your feet, I’m to release you.” I figured to keep things short and to the point. Since conversation wasn’t a past time this demon and I seemed to enjoy with one another, it was my opinion that it didn’t necessarily need to be fostered. With a nod, I motion and request for one of the guards to bring “the box,” containing Loki’s clothing, and secure our guest to assure he could walk and his muscles worked properly as it was understandable that atrophy could have set in depending on how much he moved around on a daily basis. The guard would come to Sanzo’s side and offer in assisting him to his feet; not in a polite way, but not rude either.

I smiled at the correction. I wondered how bad I looked, but judging by how long he had kept me as a prisoner down here, it was hard to tell. I guess a shave would be coming soon, right after a shower. Watching the guards assist me up, I stretch a bit, allowing my bones to crack and pop with a sharp twist of my back. The grin I was giving the captain was still glowing on the inside. "Thank you captain, and gentlemen."
I watched the box as it was sat on the floor and opened for me. Taking out my clothes, I took off the humans nasty looking clothes before tossing them at the feet of the Captain. He could have them back now that I no longer needed them. With my better smelling, battle battered clothes on, I moved around a bit. I had gotten dressed the best I could.. "now, care to unbolt me from the floor and get this collar off?"
It wasn’t long now. Soon, I would be back in my own bed at Lauren’s estate up in the hills, sipping some Santana Champ, followed by kicking back with her On a Boat.

I glance around at the men once again before I turn my attention to the door I was expecting Jyn and the prisoner to come through, though there was no sign of either of them yet. Since neither Jyn was not here yet, I deiced to have the team check there gear one last time before we would be setting out to escort the prisoner out of the city and then letting him go. While the team checked over there gear, I moved to the back of the van and glanced inside for a moment before I sat down on the rear bumper wondering what was holding Jyn up.

It would seem that the demon wanted to waste no time in getting his clothing on; that much was fine. I turn my head to give him a bit of privacy as he disrobes and changes into his clothing. After he is done, I look down at the clothing tossed, then back up to the demon as he speaks. I nod to the guard who moves to unbolt him from the floor as I explain, “the collar stays on. It’s for your own protection. Aside from keeping you from transforming, it also protects you from the barrier’s influence.” There was no real need to go into the city’s defenses. The guard finishes unbolting the demon from the ground. I add, “…also, I’m going to have to blind fold you as well until we get to the van. I’ve been charged to make sure you are safe, but there’s nothing of interest to you here.” I pull a simple blindfold from my pockets, tossing it to the guard who catches it and asks the prisoner if it was all right to place it on him. I would wait as long as was needed for this to happen and during this time, I would send a message to Ingel advising that we were en route for the van and would be there in about five minutes or more. If the demon complies, I would the cell leading the way for the guard escort and the guest out of that section and out of the secured area. Next would be the elevator to the parking deck level, some walking, and then eventually we would come out into the garage on time. If the demon decides not to comply, then we would be held up at that point and I would then react accordingly.

I stretched my legs, spreading them out and leaning down each one of them in the proper way to stretch. It felt great to be able to move. My hands were still bound, keeping me from using any magic, and now that I had this stupid collar still on, there wasn't an easy way to get out of it. Pressing my weight forward, I would disappear for a split second, reappearing two feet forward and right in front of where my body had been previously located. If the humans in the room had never seen anything like that before, it might spook them. Maybe they were already well versed in our methods of movements. Some of the ones i had spoken too had said they fought with my kind a lot. .Poor guy. I wonder how that old security guard was doing. I smiled at the thought before agreeing to his terms for removal. The quicker this got done the better.

"And the bindings on my hands?"

I wasn't about to press my luck, but these things were extremely uncomfortable. Besides, not like I could electrocute him right now. As much fun as that would be for shooting me, I'm pretty sure the price he paid the last time wasn't going to give him any sweet dreams for a while. Oh well. Soon I would be in a hot shower, and then in a real bed.

As I sit in the back of the van my thoughts begin to drift as I wait for Jyn to come down with the prisoner. When my phone burst to life alerting me that I had a message my train of thought quickly came back to the task at hand as I reached into my pocket for my phone. Once I had my phone I pull it out and flip flip it open before checking to see who had sent me a message. I scanned over the message from Jyn before closing my phone and slipping it back into my pocket. Since Jyn was on his way I stand up and move from the back of the van and inform the rest of our team that Jyn was on his way with the prisoner and for everyone to get ready.

I do not respond to the acceleration technique since there would only be a one in five chance that it would actually work seeing as the demon had a novice’s proficiency in the technique and by definition was in the learning stages with it. Aside from that, there was nothing said to indicate his legs were unbound from his arms as previously described. The ground yes, but the chances of him tripping over himself with an untrained technique while semi bound would be high. Even if he tripped very quickly, I would probably be the only one there able to keep up with his movements to see. Moving on from fact, I answer his query as his vision is compromised, “the restrictions stay on until you’re out of the city for your own protection as well.” The previous post is reference for the journey to the parking garage and after a short journey, Ingel and the others would be in view. I would allow the team lead by Ingel to open the van and assist the guest situated and comfy inside of it. I would allow Ingel to be social on my behalf since I was in a quiet mood. After are all packed up and in the van, I would make my way to the front passenger door of the van and open it asking Ingel to figure out from our guest which side of the city he would prefer to be released into.
(I suggest Ingel posts after me to keep things fluid.)

When Jyn and the prisoner came into view, I slipped a hand onto the grip of my assault rifle and gave the order for the team to get the prisoner into the van and secure him. Once I was sure the prisoner was seated in the van and secured, I make my way to the front passenger seat and climb in before looking into the back at the prisoner, " It's nice to see you again. I see they finally decided to let you go. " I commented before turning my attention away from the prisoner. As the passenger door opened I looked to see who it was that was opening the door. I seen it was Jyn and when he commented about finding out where the prisoner wanted to be dropped off, I nodded before I turned my attention back to the prisoner, " So, where would you like to be dropped off at? "

I kept trying to move, and flex what I could within myself, but soon gave up. I wasnt in the mood to try and hassle with anything. Besides, I was on my way out. The sooner I got this little shindig over with, the sooner I would be long gone. I followed obediently, and did as I was told. I could feel my body lifting upwards as I stepped into the van without being able to see, but with the assistance of someone else that was also unable to see. Sitting there, I recognized the feel of a van. I had sat in these vehicles before, and didnt really care too much for them. I listened for the question, but ignored it for a moment while in thought. I couldnt rightfully return to my home yet, and I didnt want the military to track me to the Laurens place. The last thing her father needed was the government knocking at her door. After some careful thought, I spoke.

"I dont care.. the closest place that will allow me to get all of these bindings off."

I thank Ingel for assisting as I climb into the passenger front of the van. The driver leans his head back as he hears the answer from the demon and nods with a signal that they would be starting out. The engine was already started, so the van lurches forwards and begins its journey to the exit of the building, moving out into the sun covered streets of the Metro. The van makes its way south driving casually through the day time traffic as everything seemed pretty normal as a leisurely drive. I rest my elbow on the window and look out of my side of the window as I simply wait for the time and distance to pass between us and the barrier’s edge. After some time, the van slows as it comes to a half after pulling into the alleyway of an alleyway in the Lower Commons region of the city. The driver signals this would be a good drop off point and I nod opening my door and stating, “let’s get to it.” I wait for the van door to slide open and give the okay to unbound the demon and remove any and all harnesses on his personage.

Ooc: No. Generally, nothing at novice can be done perfectly. Training controls proficiency as well as MAX distance in this case.

I keep my gaze fixed on the prisoner until he finally answers my question. When he answered my question I relay the answer to the driver of the van. After relaying the information to the driver, I get settled in for the ride to where ever the driver decided to drop the prisoner off at. When the van finally came to a stop, I glanced towards the seat Jyn was. " Alright. " I said before raising from my seat and moving over to the sledding door. Stopping at the door, I grab the handle and pull the door open before stepping out of the van and glancing around. After an initial glance around I step away from the open door and give the signal for the rest of the team to get out and for them to bring the prisoner out as well.

I kept silent for the remainder of the ride. The less time spent socializing with them, the better. At the end of it, the only thing really left on my mind was my bed, a glass of tea, and a nice hot shower. Their treatment of prisoners was lower than the demons in my book. At least the demons let you shower. I smiled at the thought of what one of the humans would do if they were stuck on the other side. It wasnt too long before we came to what felt like a stop. I yawned, rather loudly, while getting helped out of the van.

"Well gentlemen, its been a pleasure."

I stand far away from the van so that I would not be in the way of the demon’s homecoming with the outside as the members of the group would go about assisting him down from the van. I watch as his harnesses were taken off, saddened on the inside at the choice my superiors decided to make. Still, it was assumed they knew what they were doing; at least that would help sleep a little better at night rather than knowing they were simply idiots. The blindfold is removed along with the cuffs and neck harness. The bright daylight would finally give him some indication of what time it was. The demon was now a free man, or rather a free demon. With a nod, I verify that the demon is indeed free from our custody and in one piece. “Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy your freedom,” I say making my way back to the driver side door letting the team know we were to mount up immediately after the drop off. No need for a prolonged goodbye or anything of the sort. My hand comes to the door as I open it outward and give my salutations to the side speaking, “…well, until we meet again.” I meant it as a simple farewell, but if looked too far into, it could allude to my expectations of having to bring him back in at a later time.

After the signal, i begin to glance around to make sure the area remained secure. When the prisoner came out, glanced at him at him for a moment before looking away. " try to stay out of trouble. " i said as i glanced back at the prisoner, and watch him for a moment before looking away.

I stood there in the sunlight for a few moments, breathing lightly while the final restraints were removed. My shoulders rolled backwards, while I slung my head to the side to keep my hair out of my face. It was a beautiful day after all. Smiling over at the officer who had been quite helpful, I nodded a polite nod to him. I took a few steps before turning at the sarge's words.
"Until we meet again Sarge. Be good."

With that said, I lifted my feet off of the ground and shot straight up into the air. The air draft between the buildings felt great across my body before I sat it down on the edge of the roof, only to gaze across the open sky for the first time in only god knew how long. My lungs filled, taking a deep breath before slowly exhaling.
"A beautiful day indeed."
