Now was the time, between missions and teachings from my master, that I would have to train up my abilities. And I had a few new weapons to train up, the abilities with a katana and wakizashi, and my naginata. I would start with my bushido pratice, pulling out one of my katana and the wakizashi in the other hand. It would just assist me in learning bushido's perfection if I would use them both. I knew not to use any of my master's territory as my practice area for cutting up, so I would just have to start with footwork, which could make all the difference in a fight. My black eyes narrowed ahead as I edged forward as though circling an opponent. I had to watch it because I was not used to swinging a curved sword, I had used my long sword for so long that I did not realize yet that bushido also applied to the draw of the blade- how fast one could slash with the blade out of the sheath. I closed my eyes at this point, still narrowed as I imagined opponents. Two, who were using one katana each. I would inch forward carefully, since I held the wakizashi down and didn't want to mess up anything on me. As I neared them, one of them (each with a different stance, this one with his sword held over his head) came at me. I used my footwork to bring the wakizashi up without slashing myself and pushed his blade away sloppily as I would slash at his chest. He would spin and back up after I pushed the blade away and I would mentally cursed under my breath.
Sure, it would be easy to mentally make him trip since he was under my control, but I was giving him the speed and dextarity that I had seen my master Yamamoto show when he would give us demonstrations. But I was determined to overcome these opponents one day, when I had mastered and then perfected the use of the katana. I would easy back and then noticed that the other man had moved out of sight, which made my eyes widened as I knew that this was not good. If an opponent could do that, there was a chance that you would be killed rather easily. I wanted to do this as a human, so I thought hard and would turn around in a tornado slash, attempting to catch him off guard. that did not work either, as he simply parried my wakizashi and gave a slash at me, getting me across the chest. It was light and didn't bleed that long, but it was a reminder that I had to be careful. Of course no blood spilled in reality, so anyone seeing me might think that I was crazy, but it wasn't like I cared at all.

But there was something I was realizing from my exchanges. I found that the twin style, unless truly changed, was actually a bit slower. I would sheath that shorter blade and open my eyes was I would place my katana into a double bound grip. I could see these men again, and now with my eyes open. The dance would begin again as the two charged at me, and I would place my sword tip towards the sandy ground. I'd become very accomplished in movements with the raw sand, not wet and changed. But I would also train by the beach as well. The dance started with a flurry of slashes and parries, and I would be the one parrying, swiftly and sliding the blade in for a surprise stab. But his companion would jab his katana forward, knocking the blade to the side. I would not hesitate to kick to the side. Sandaled foot would meet a cheek and the crunch of bone as the body would topple to the side and shrieks of pain would rip out. But that was ignored for the moment as my sword would clash with the first opponent. The one with the broken jaw wasn't done, but this one had renewed strength. Likely I imagined it for he must have gained rage from the temporary fall of his companion.
This renewed flurry of strikes would be met with a cool attitude, a narrowed vision of parries and counter-strikes that would plunge through his bladed defense, only to be defeated by the imaginary body leaping back and giving a counter to a counter-strike. Such methods seemed far more tedious in their doings, but rage was such a raw and primal emotion that it provided such power. His strikes only gained in power with each frustrating exchange, while my powers of endurance were being forced to drop, due to humanly limitations. So, I believed that it was time for me to take the offensive. Stopping my back up, I would slide a foot forward, hidden by a quick side step and slash away from a wild chop. The chop had landed the blade in the sand, but he had reacted my my swung katana, missing my foot. It was a small victory, my foot sliding in and with the clash of blades, there came another clash. My foot would sent a shock through his body and then a snapping sound. Bones creaked and he would topple over, ankle broken from the harsh contact. My sword's dull edge had been pushed against my chest, but it was all over now. I would not waist my time as my blade would slide slickly through his throat and I would pant from this exchange of rage and coolness. My head would snap around at the sound of sand churning as the other had found the strength to stop shrieking and get up with rage filling his eyes. I couldn't deny him such a rage, but I felt that my martial skill with the katana and bushido ad increased pasted that of a mere novice.
