I would finally be meeting the current... well, I called the position 'over-seerer' of Harlem. Domen'yun had told me to seek out the one in charge, and I decided that I would meet this person in my vaspire form. I had my suit on and pulled a bit on the sleeve. I still disliked it, but it was the best way to meet this person on a good note. I would smile as I would head to where I was told to go to find this person. Would I be meeting the male or female form? I would see when I saw. Domen had given me a surprising thing that made me wonder about the incubus within me. Oh well, there was nothing that I would need to worry about yet. I calmly approached the area, a calm look on my elfish face. Perhaps I would use my incubus form when I meet this person, but I doubted the need would arise.

During the Master's last meeting i had been informed that another would be coming to take over the commanding role here at Harlem. A lesser man than I would have been offended that his master thought so little of him to send another to take the job, but I am not a lesser man. I understand that my master's will is to make sure all of his people are put in position that benefit him to their fullest extent. Mine is to focus on business alone, as i did for the previous leader and not worry over the day to day security and protection details. I never expected to take on the lordship role here in my home, at first I assumed the Master would step in and assume that title, but now that I have seen his plans are so much bigger I understand the need for another of his servants to come and fill the void. Now Harlie will be able to return her focus to the girls and their training while I will be able to stick around here and keep the business in line. My reports should now go to this Rei instead of needing to be taken all the way to the Master myself, unless this new Lord decides to send me in his stead, in which case I will accept my duty with grace.

Word comes to me that the new Lord has arrived and so I abandon my scrolls and head out immediately to greet him. Dressed in my usual desert robe garb, I exit my tent and make my way to the building where the new lord would be directed. As I approached I wondered idly if he would rather be welcomed and greeted by Harlie instead of myself, but since it was too late to change now I soldiered on. Catching sight of him I was pleased that he appeared to be a clean and decent man. I had feared the new Lord would be a roughneck like the last had been and that this would not be a smooth transition. Walking up to him i offer my hand in polite greeting as I speak. "Welcome to Harlem, my lord. Qyn, humble business manager at your service. Please allow me to escort you to your new home."

My crimson eyes would catch sight of the male after exiting a tent, something that I thought a bit strange, but said nothing to the effect. I was calm and collected in my movements and face, much more then I used to be. Time with the master (training and learning) and doing the demon's bidding had taught me such control was useful and indeed necessary. My white gloved hand would take a hold of the man's and shake his hand back with as much force was given before he spoke, a smile had been on my face. He was speaking politely, and formalities with those that would be working with me were unneeded, I found it rather cumbersome. Though before being the 'lord' I would begin as a noble here, I wold act in accordance to what I believed a lord should truly act as.

"Please, Qyn, there is no need to call me lord. I am Rei Yan, and you may call me Rei, and just Rei unless you feel the need to do so otherwise. And yes, I would like to see my new home."

Well, perhaps I use some of my own, but this was my first time meeting the man. I didn't care for being unintelligent upon first meetings, and you only get to make one first impression. I wanted to at least come off as a kind one, I wouldn't want to be known as one with an iron fist. Though when it came to protection and enforcement of laws and rules, I could do what was needed.

After the handshake and listening to the man insist that I refer to him as simply Rei, I nod my head obediently and release his white gloved hand. Turning my body slightly, in the direction I will be leading him, I point toward the permanent structure that had recently been erected to serve as his new home. Originally when the Master first took over our humble home we were an exclusively tent housed settlement, but since that time more and more true structures had been built to aid the transition from nomadic to a more permanent establishment. I of course still preferred my tent and would probably be one of the last hold outs, I like being able to feel the desert wind blowing through my area in the still of the night. Harlie and most of the girls had moved into a building better suited to their needs though and they all seem to be happy with the new arragements. "Right this way, my.... Rei. Your new home is that freshly finished building right over there. The maids have been working for days to get it just right for you, though some of the decorating was put on hold until you could let them know exactly what your preferences are." Old habits die hard. It would most likely take me a few hours to get used to calling him Rei rather than addressing him by a title or other term of respect, but I would work at making it possible. If there is nothing else to take care of out here, I would lead the man to his new home and allow him a chance to look around.

I would follow after the male, my horse being pulled by the reins after I quickly went to retrieve him. I would move with a calm pace, striding behind the man with a small smile on my face. I noted the varying living and business structures again, the tents and the various buildings interested me. I wondered if Qyn had heard about the previous night, when some sort of a duel had broken out (each man had became drunk and lusted after the same woman, and decided that only one could have her). I had broke up the duel due to their pathetic looking fight, but I doubted such news was important to the business man Qyn. I wondered what the name was of the other side- it was not something that I'd learned. I would then snap my head back at Qyn when he said 'my'. I wouldn't have scolded him, but reminded him. Why scold a new thing to him? I would chuckle lightly at his statement, but just low enough for me to hear. Maids, huh? I was pretty independent, but as nobility it was something expected of me. Oh well, i would have to be something that I accepted.

Coming up to the Estate, it was built in a more Oda Nobunaga era Japanese style, as I preferred and asked them to make. I would nod at what I asked of them, it was just as I had asked. I would nod my head at the windows that were made for archers to fire arrows out without exposing themselves, it was built so that 90% of the patrons and workers on any given day or night could come in during an attack on Harlem. A stable was built attached to it, not a big one, but enough for the personal guards' horses and Kurohoshi.

"It pleases me to see that my specifications about th structure were followed. The inside should be simple enough as well. Shall we go inside or return to your tent to speak more on the business within Harlem? My reason is so that I can attended to the needs of the works and patrons more soundly."

"It is good that you are pleased with the structure, we here in Harlem make it our duty to please." I was glad he seemed to like what had been done for him by our humble workers, that is what we are here for. When it came to whether we should head inside to view the rest of his new home or return to my tent to begin our business discussion I had only one answer for him. "Either course of action works for me. I am prepared to discuss business with you anywhere, returning to my tent is not required unless you wish it." I am pretty much the epitome of the laid back, easy going guy. Whatever my Master's representative wished to do I would be ready to follow.

My head would nod as I smiled lightly. It seemed that the man did not care where, and I would close my eyes after a moment as I was considering where to go before I spoke with a calmness to my voice, and a more noble like quality to it then before.

"We should head back to the tent. It'd be best that way... I'll assume that you already have the papers that are needed for such a discussion are there. As such, it would be best to choose in this occasion."

I think I remembered the general direction, but not all the way. I would turn, but wait for Qyn to take the lead. After all, he seemed to know his way all around this place. I waited with a calm gaze and looked around and towards the encampment looking area and buildings mixed. I would then place a hand on my chin as I would add with a faint smile on my visage.

"By the way, tell the rest of the people. There will be no need to change all of the tents into buildings. It will make Harlem a bit unique that way, and those that prefer their tents to a buildings can keep a tent. Or, they can have a tent for their bedding. To be honest, I remember when I used to have a tent every night..."

I could be insightful when I needed to be or when it seemed that the situation required it. Indeed, I'd gained a lot more knowledge and common sense about many subjects then I'd had ever had before I was taken in by Master Domen. Harlem was just a step, however. Only a step, though I wasn't going to tell the one who had just been its previous leader that. Qyn would likely be insulted by that.

With a nod I begin to lead the way back to my tent where the new Lord wished our meeting to take place. As we walk he mentions that not all of the tents would be replaced by buildings. i suppose it is nice of him to stick with the original plans for our humble little settlement, those of us that were willing to fight for the right to keep our homes as they had been for decades would appreciate it greatly. As we approach the tent I pull back the entrance flap and wave my arm in a gesture for him to enter first, as any good servant would do... which is exactly what i was. Despite the responsibility regarding this place that had fallen to my shoulders in recent weeks I had neve been, nor even been thought of, as the leader of Harlem, that honor laid solely with the master, and now partially with this man who has been chosen to take on the 'Lord of Harlem' title at the master's will.
