Meeting with the Lady

It had been a while since Rei had seen Lady Kazakura. It wasn't that Rei didn't want to see her, but he'd no idea where she was, and it was only now that in Harlem Rei got the news that Kazakura was back, or at least in appearance. Rei had a grin on his face and couldn't help himself- he wanted to speak with her. After all, they were wondering about her in Shima, and Rei had met the other young Priestess that had been with her when Rei had first been transformed into a vaspire. The vaspire wanted to make sure that the Priestess was fine now. Rei knew that she had been in a lot of pain since Rei got her slashed. He still had not forgiven himself for that, no matter if Kazakura had. It was his childishness and it was a mistake to act the way that he had.

Rei sent word ahead that he was coming to the capital to meet with Lady Kazakura. He would wait for her to return if she was away for two days before returning to Harlem. He was riding his warhorse and three of his guards insisted that they come with the vaspire. He wasn't weak during the day and could still slay enemies, but he understood their loyalty. They moved across the desert quickly, each one on a horse, though the other's horses were not yokai like Rei's. He kept up the journey until he arrived at the temple, since that is where he said he would meet with Kazakura, just outside th temple. He was not sure if his possessed body could be in the temple without suffering terrible pains. His arrival was mostly unannounced, since he did not believe in that, despite him being a noble, now. Rei waited with a light smile as he had sent the personal guards to have a fun time until he would go and get them.

Since I was overseeing the temple decorations and the artists painting the murals upon the walls, I would be inside when a young man ran up the stairs and into the temple proper. Looking over at the young boy who bowed low to the point of groveling as he quickly told me of a group of people riding into the village of Domenance. I blinked as the youth described them to me. Since I was the one being told, I figured that Domen was not around to receive these visitors. With a sigh, I place a scroll onto the table next to the artist and bid him to finish while I handled the visitors. With purpose and poise to my graceful steps, I exited the temple and began to walk down the steps.

I was a vision to behold with the silvered hair, and the silvered dress clinging to my sculpted body. A goddess come to life as a priestess. Those around me here in Domenance had a habit of looking at me in wonder and awe. It was hard on me, but here lately I had began to learn how to deal with the looks. I was nothing more than a mere mortal like themselves, but they viewed Domen as a god among men, and since I graced his bed as well as sat at his left/right in the temple throne room, it seemed to elevate me about a normal priestess into a goddess myself. Kaelas could be seen, since he was the size of a dragon himself, resting behind the temple.

As I descended the steps of the temple, the silvered dress trailed behind me giving the effect of a goddess descending from the clouds of the heavens. My eyes lit upon the visitors and I began to smile as my lyrical voice came out in a greeting. "So the prodigal son returns?" It was the joke we use to share while we were both here. He was the 'son' of Domen. It was said with a lightness as if I was truly happy to see him. If his escorts knew of me, they might even be awed into a bow of some sort. Who knew.

Rei waited with utter patience as he thought about Fuyumi- he had to leave her for the day, allow her to rest up after the night. Rei was no longer attracted to Kazakura the way that he had, really since he started his life in Harlem- but Rei was a one woman man, despite being an overseer of a brothel city. He knew the fame that Kazakura had came to lately, that she was a goddess among these people here. It was his own private joke- he once wanted that goddess, and yet the god above him always dettered him, even when he was alone with Kazakura.

It did not take Kazakura long to exit the temple- and those that stayed near Rei looked at her in wonder, but since they were from the desert tribes around here before the area became Domen'yun's, they had their own gods and demigods. They all gave her slight bows, but nothing too fancy before they headed out. The vaspire gave a light chuckle as he heard the words she spoke and slid off his horse and replied, "Yes, I've returned only for a part of the day, 'mother'. I have something to ask you about."

He looked at those gathered- he would rather have a private audience, but maybe it was not a good idea to refer to her ask 'mother' after he was referred to as 'son'. But he may as well ask her for one, and added to his previous comment after a moment, "Would it be alright if I spoke with you in private? It's something very personal."

My arms came out as I embraced him for a slight hug. "It is good to see you again Rei. You have grown it seems." With that I release him and turn towards the temple and motion for him to follow. "Come, you shall have a private audience. Do you require anything for refreshment." Then I turned back and watched to see if he was following. "Come, this temple poses no threat to you. It's dedicated to Domen after all." The last was said in more of a sigh almost as if I were trying not to think about that fact for the moment. I would lead him into the temple, through the main area to a small garden out back. Looking about at the workers, I smiled and called the head over to me. The garden was not yet finished and as we entered, everyone ceased their work. "Leave us, please." that was the signal for the head of the workers to shoo everyone out. I proceeded to cliff and let the sound of the waves crashing below to mask our words. "What brings you here?"

Rei returned to hug in a way that he would have given to his mother. Kazakura was like one to him- she allowed him to keep his life and powers, it was like he had been reborn that night. Domen'yun was the other one to tango, and everyone knows that cliche about making a life. The young vaspire gave a light chuckle at her comment and replied, "Thank you, Kazakura. It's good to see the capital and see how done the temple looks."

Rei stayed back a moment before Kazakura re-assured him- Rei was not aware that the temple was of Domen, it seemed more like one for the religion that would have repelled Rei's kind. The vaspire followed in after the assurance. He saw a partially finished garden. He liked it, but it was simply too flowery for him. Not that it mattered. He watched as they were told to leave, and Rei was finally allowed a private audience with Kazakura.

After a lightly shuttering sigh, Rei spoke, "I...I met a girl yesturday. She was like me- a traveler, and one that I believe has been doing it for a while. I really liked her- she was something missing in my life. I turned her into a vaspire, however, after a moment of weakness. She hit me in the morning, but she never said or showed me that she hates me. Quit the opposite," the last part was whispered and a blush came to his face as he looked away for a moment as he tried to control the blush, "We kissed and had a close moment. Kazakura, how do I really show that I care for her? What really shows a girl that you love her?"
