Down the Road

Kuna didn't like being out at night, even if he could defend himself ably against most thugs and malignant spirits. Tomo-kun the little spirit that could store a near limitless amount of items which could be accessed with merely a word. Kuna was out though to map out the neighborhoods which had the most spirit activity. He was out this night working on his spotting skills for particularly good places to snipe from, which was why he was walking around at night gauging each building he was coming across for the perfect position. He would take the information and put it back onto his computer later, so that he could assimilate that information later or sell it too one of the Yakuza gangs.

Kuna approached one of the buildings back doors, which was locked rather conveniently. He would look at the lock with a little bit of contempt before having Tomo-kun just swallow the lock. It allowed him to open door with making a minimal amount of noise. The building was the typical sort of projects that was rife with drugs, crime, and all other sorts of unsavory types. Kuna just gave a silent shake of his head as he headed towards the roof. He would come back outside with a good view of the street, so he pulled out a small little map of the area and put down an X on the location he was at. Tomo-kun the little spirit would spit out his Garand with the hunter's scope letting him scan the surroundings with a much finer detail, which is where he saw one of the gang bangers of the street accosting a female.

Kuna was observing the situation from the scope, but it wasn't the best situation since the scope wasn't meant for nighttime use. He would make a mental note to himself to get a nightvision scope or a starlight one one of these days. The thing he could observe though was that the girl had handled herself rather well with the assailant and swiftly dispatched him. He would pull away from the scope and have Tomo-kun swallow the gun. There was no reason for him to stay any longer on this rooftop, so he would proceed to make his way down the stairwell. He would reach the bottom stairs when he heard a distinctly female voice, which caused him to pause and then take several steps up into the shadows of the stairwell. He briefly assessed his options and didn't like either like them since it would mean having to go out front which meant more possible witnesses or some kind of confrontation with the female. Kuna hoped though that whoever it was wouldn't take too long with whatever it was she was doing.

It seemed that the girl might not be a normal resident of the slum, but she found the stairwell easy enough much too the blonde's displeasure. He would move up too the second floor where he would open the door as quietly as he could and escaped into a decrepit hallway. He really wasn't under the illusion that his stealthy exit hadn't gone unnoticed by the girl, but he hoped to get enough time and distance between him to be a non-issue. Kuna didn't bother trying one of the many apartment doors assuming they were all locked, but he immediately dashed down the hallway and immediately pulled a left turn, hoping that there would be another set of stairs somewhere on this floor.

He slowed his dash too a slow jog and eventually down too a walk since it didn't look like he was being followed anymore. Kuna still had to be cautious though since he had just bought a little bit of time. Kuna stopped at the corner of one of the intersections crouched down, where he would peek over the side to look around to see that the way was clear and that the end of the hallway was the other set of stairs. Kuna would then make a stealthy crouched run down the hallway and reached the end without incident. He would open the door to take a peek, but he wouldn't see anything out of the ordinary. He would open the door and take a step into the stairwell, where he would see a brunette woman standing there. Kuna would conceal his reaction and keep walking down past her hoping that there wouldn't be a question asked while he walked past her.

He put on the air of not really paying attention too the girl. It was the best to keep moving and not even bother looking back, that was until she spoke though. Kuna would stop in his tracks and briefly look back up to her. "Hello." He would say turning his attention away from her since he wanted to maintain the illusion of being a resident of the apartment or at the very least a visitor, hence why he was being polite in responding back to her greeting. *I need to see if I can get some teleportation magic.* Kuna thought to himself while he continued moving down the steps. He glanced back up to her "Goodnight." Kuna said in departing and continued descending the stairs.

Kuna stopped briefly upon hearing more words from the Brunette girl. He was frustrated that she would continue speaking to him when he was mostly concerned about getting out of the building. He would make his way back to maintain a polite distance between the two of them. "I only came here to visit a friend of mine." He would say telling a lie. The girl seemed to have some issues with personal space, but he would keep his distance. "Well, I wish you and your grandmother good health, but I should go." Kuna said.

He mentally cursed himself, but he could recover potentially. "I wouldn't know if this place was locked or not since I came in from the front entrance, which isn't locked." Kuna said hoping that this was one of those apartment buildings that didn't lock the front door. "This neighborhood isn't exactly the safest at night, and I don't want to be longer out on the streets longer then I need too." He would say, which would be the truth this time. "If we are done with the interrogation I've got to get going." He would say turning around, but he would take the precaution of activating the essence reinforcement technique, so that he would be able to repel any attack that might happen.

Kuna listened to her, and it seemed she did not get the hint that he wanted to be left alone. He doubted even saying it right out would dissuade the girl too. He was about to say no, when he heard her saying that there was a murderer out. "Hm, I guess if there is a killer about, then it would be prudent to go out with somebody. I guess you can tag along." The blond said keeping his face neutral, but he was going to keep an eye on the girl just in case something happened between them. You could never be too paranoid when transversing the lower commons like they were doing.

Kuna would keep himself more reserved while she talked. He paid attention to what she said, but wouldn't say anything more other then some grunts, while he trudged down the stairs. He would look over too Kyouko. "No, this would be the first time hearing something like this. You would probably more about this then me." Kuna said while finally reaching the ground floor. He would stop in the lobby to make a glance towards the girl "Where do you need to go?" He asked.

He gave an internal sigh since he had merely asked where she was going to see if it was going to go along the same route he was taking back too the academic district. She said something about an Academy, but he didn't know where that was. The blond wouldn't commit too being dragged around half the city for this girl. "Where is this Venturion academy, is it close?" Kuna asked her as he opened the door for her to exit first, being the gentlemen that he was. The blond look down both directions that the street was going. "Lead the way."

Kuna gave a slight nod of his head. He would take a quick glance around the area, and he briefly thought about trying to check out the scene where that girl was attacked. It seemed like though that Kyuoko was taking them in the opposite direction. The blond would settle into following behind the brunette. "How many blocks are we talking about before we reach this academy?" He asked hoping for a straight answer from her.

It was a subtly vague answer that at least gave him an idea of how long it would take them to arrive at this academy. He withheld a sigh from escaping his lips. "Alright, I'll take you there as long as it isn't longer then the distance you said." He would say a little bit of his exasperation bleed through into his voice. Kuna would take up a position behind Kyouko, while he tucked his hands into his pockets. There he would wait for her to take the lead.
