Awakened

I groaned and opened my eyes as I shifted from my back to my side. But the sight that met them was not one of my bedroom in the early morning before work. Grass and vegetation lay under and around me where my bed should have been. I paused a moment as I tried to remember what had happened the night before, however nothing came to mind, in fact I couldn’t even remember how I’d managed to wake up here. I began to wonder if I’d even woke up, this was surely some dream, or maybe I had finally lost my mind and this was the result. In any case, I couldn’t just sit here, even if it was just a dream I needed to do something to pass the time until I woke up.

Getting to my feet I realized I was in my full uniform, and even wearing my gun, that in its self was strange, I never dreamt my self in fully cop gear before. I pushed threw some of the brush and found a road, “Convenient” I thought to my self “This has to be a dram, which means I should follow this road…maybe”. I looked both ways, and either direction looked like it lead any where. But there was a slight angle to it, meaning I was probably on some sort of hill. I opted to head down hill, and followed. My mind kept me busy, pondering my situation, and next plan of action. At some point the trees gave way, into an open hill side and below was a village. A real village, not a city in sight. The paranoid side of me began to wonder if I’d been drugged and left for dead out in some remote place. That didn’t really make much sense though, I wasn’t injured, besides a bump on the head. My head was pounding but I hadn’t been paying it any mind until now. I reached a hand up and touched point of most discomfort. There was bump, and it was rather sore too. But that didn’t really fit my whole theory of this being a dream.
“Dreams don’t hurt…damnit what’s going on?” I whispered softly still over looking the village reluctant to enter.

I find myself in my thoughts as I am riding on this wagon. So I help protect this shipment and that merchant will give me the scroll that I asked about. Sounds simple enough and like a great way for me to enhance some of these new powers that I have been working on unlocking. So much growth. Part of me wanted to just take the damn scroll from the merchant, but he helped me out to keep me from getting attacked or reported to the village police or whatever their equivalent is. I just want to go home, but since I can't teleport back and I haven't been able to get to the Lake without being attacked by either shadow warriors or demons or both, I am trapped here. Still, I don't know where here is. I know that I have been able to actually fly out to see the Great Sea and saw an isolated piece of land in the middle of the river, I believe they call it an island and there was a small village on there. I had left the Desert Clan Village with this shipment.

As the wagon comes over a hill and heads for our target destination, we come up on a young man dressed in modern for me and very strange clothing for the locals and he has a gun on him. Interesting. One of the other guards slides his hand over to his weapon and I shake my head. The wagon driver being a very friendly person inquires, "Strange garbs you have there, friend? Would you like to rest your feet? We are heading to the village as well."

My head hung and I ran a hand through my hair as I let out a sigh as I racked my brain trying put the shattered pieces of what I knew together. That was soon interrupted by a sound further up the road. I turned and saw it was a wagon. I stared a moment at the wagon, was I in a third world country? Surely even they had cars, though probably not the best. Still it was my best shot at getting an explanation so I moved to face them as they headed my way. The driver actually beat me to questions, and I was relieved they at lest spoke my language, other wise I’d have been completely lost.
"Um yes, thank you, I seem to be lost." I said with a friendly smile "forgive me, but could you tell me where I am?"

I was late getting to the village. It had been strange meeting up with people from the future. The horse under me was trotting and flicking his head. Obviously he was happy to be out of the stable. Well it had been a few weeks since I had traveled to the other villages so it was a good feeling. I would just have to travel through without stopping. I wore simple traveling skirt of a golden hue, with slits up the sides up to the thigh to allow for easy riding. My shirt was a simple white with a silver-gray corset lined with gold thread. The sleeves were short. On the right arm I wore the silver armband of the priesthood. A cloak fell behind my shoulders, it matched the silver-gray of the corset. The hood was down and the trail of the cloak fell over the horse's withers.

I pulled up on the reins and took control of the playful mount. With a pat to the neck we were off in a straight line at a normal trot minus the dancing he had been trying to do. We continued down the trek to the road. We would follow it for a little while and then break off in about a mile or two. As we trotted ahead there seemed to be a wagon in front of us and I smiled. Merchants most likely. It would be good for company for a little way. there was safety in numbers while traveling the road. Bandits were known to attack lone travelers.

The horses hooves plodded forward and we neared the wagon. Soon a startled expression settled on my face at the sight of another strangely garbed person was here. I was finding them all here lately. This one must have also come from the future. Well... This was wonderful. I reined the horse in as I came up behind this group.

As I awaited an answer a woman on horseback approached from further down the road. She was in odd fashion, she definitely wasn’t from a third world country, nor was she from the city, in fact the only time could remember seeing clothes like her’s, was in history books. If this was a dream it was far better than those I had, had as of late. Those dreams usually jolted me awake in a cold sweat, with little memory as to what had exactly happened, but always left me with cold lonesome feeling in the end. No as much as I wanted to rationalize where I was, I knew it wasn’t a dream. Where I was, I had a feeling I’d be stranded here a long time. I moved aside, making room for her to pass as she got closer. Trying to conceal my worry behind a friendly face.

I turned back to the merchant driver, "On second thought, I’m fine to walk. But if you could give me a hint as to which direction to go, and where I am, I’d appreciate that." I asked, I needed to clear my head, though it hadn’t been clear in days. I had to get a hold of my self, before I really did lose it, but something told me I was already slipping into the darkness.

The driver nods to the young man, "Well if you wanna rest yer feet, we're heading to the Village up ahead. It's much easier to catch a ride than to walk, friend. Ya kno wat... I'm not quite sure what the name of the village is because I've never asked anyone. We just call it the Island cus well, it's the only village on this island!" The wagon driver chuckles and I look at him and his laughter ends abruptly. Looking over at the gun and at the young man, I ease the steely glance of my eyes, which had been locked on him. My accent sounds Ptolemaic Egyptian in tone and dialect as I speak directly into his mind tho of course he wouldn't be sure that it was me, "This is an island to the east of what you know as East City. Nothing is like it should be, but there are some interesting factors about this place. Physically, this is all Sai City, but not. You may find some answers in this village."

The new arrival peaks my senses and I look at the other men in the back of the wagon as their attention is stolen. That can only mean one thing... a woman. These humans wouldn't survive an hour in Arden. I just hope she is attractive the way they are looking. I look at the wagon driver as we need to deliver this shipment as I want that scroll so that I can learn what I need to escape this place.

"Well met, travelers. Where are you heading today?" The horse shift his weight and snorted. Reaching down I pat his neck again. I knew that he wanted to run but we were not going to have a chance just yet. The men on the wagon were gazing at me and I flashed one of those rare smiles at them. Hopefully to put them a bit at ease. From their garb they looked to be from the desert clans. I had visited there only a few months ago. Scanning the faces of the ones I could see, I tried to place if I had met them while there. Then my eyes glanced back to the stranger. He looked a bit tired and I smiled. Of course he would be, they others had been that way as well. "It can be a dangerous road if traveled alone. Perhaps you would mind if I traveled along with you for a stretch?" With this question, I lifted my gray eyes up to the driver. He might be the leader of this little band. "I have heard there have been bandits along this stretch."

A small smile crossed my face as the driver chuckled. But my smile quickly fades as a voice that is not my own enters my mind. From the sound of the voice, it definitely wasn’t the drivers but I couldn’t tell who’s it was, or how they managed to pull it off. This place was Sai City? I found it hard to believe, but after what had happened it wasn’t that much of a stretch. Even so, if this was Sai City, what happened, and why couldn’t I remember anything? A grime look crossed my features at I raised a hand and touched the back of my head where the bump was still very sore. That must have something to do with it. My attention was brought back by the woman’s voice, and I moved silently to the wagon, and motioned for the men to make room as I sat down near the edge of the cart. I let out a sigh of relief even though I was anything but. "Ah, feels good to sit down" I said softly.

Smart move. He moves over towards the wagon and I look at the other guards and workers in the back. They scoot in closer to one another to make room and I turn back around. The driver looks at me and whispers, "Try to be nicer to people that we meet. The shipment will arrive on time, I assure you. We're almost there and have plenty of time." I nod to him and speak to one of the guards out loud, "Arah, keep an eye on the woman. If these bandits show up, keep her out of danger. We cannot allow a maiden to be preyed upon by bandits, now can we?" The man from my time would be able to recognize the voice. The hood of my cloak remains up as I sit up here surveying the area now curious about these bandits. I would enjoy a good fight. The driver smiles at the woman and speaks, "You have to excuse the young master here, milady. He gets like this on a shipment run. What is a beautiful young maiden like yourself doing out here traveling by yourself? Even a Maiden of the Cloth should have a guard or something." The driver waits for her move alongside us before the wagon starts moving to the village at a casual pace. One of the men in the back asks the stranger on the wagon, "So where are you from? You dress pretty... unique."

I pull the horse along the wagon and let him pace. I glance at the hooded man a bit thoughtfully, raising an eyebrow at his statement. I had offered to join them to perhaps protect them on this leg of my journey. As I focused on him something seemed a bit different. If I focused long enough I might be able to put my finger on it. He reminded me of,,, the driver caught my attention with his question and the focus was lost in favor of good manners. My smile beams at him as my cheeks flush from the compliment. "I thank you for your concern. Do not worry for me. My faith is all I need for my protection." Also I tended to stick to the game trails so as not to be disturbed. But the less people who knew my route the safer I traveled. I touched the pendant that still pulsed with the blessings I had called upon it earlier. It would be another day before it wore off. The motion was comforting. I glanced back to those in the cart, glance at the hooded one first before gazing quickly at the one from the Future. Was he friends with the ones from the other day.

I sat quietly, and kept to my self while words were exchanged, and heard that same voice again. This time it was from the hooded figure. So, I wasn’t losing my mind after all, but if he could do something like that, I wonder what else he was capable of, or the what power did these other strangers have. That thought really did unnerve me. I glanced at the hooded man a moment, but couldn’t see much from my angle, so I turned my attention to the question that’d had been asked.
"I’m …from Sai city, there these cloths are worn by people that swore to protect and serve the people that live there. But I guess I’m far from that place now." I explained with another smile, this one was more to cover my uneasy feels. As the woman speaks it catches me off guard, faith? That’s what she relied on?
"Faith? In what exactly?" I asked a bit confused, or maybe I was just jealous of those who could believe in what they couldn’t see.

I start to tune everyone else out as the wagon moves until I hear those words, "I'm from Sai City" followed by his admission that he is a police officer. Now that is interesting all in itself. I dismiss it and continue to look around and try to relax. I smirk at the sound of faith protecting someone from harm. That sounds familiar actually. The White Wings in Onitoshi would say such things. The last time I remember hearing it is right before I walked out of a sealed room where one of them was left captive in the custody of one of my Shyr Beis mistresses. The screams that came from that room. I smirk again at the memory before I try to dismiss it. The happiness that briefly arose turned to sadness as I realized even more that I missed my people, my army, my home, my cousin, and especially Zilana. I suppose the troublesome part is that the Ceremony of Union is supposed to take place soon and I can't get home.

The wagon just pushes on and the driver asks the priestess, "So where are you on your way from, Priestess?"

Speaking to the one from my time telepathically again, "I hope you can use a blade or something b/c you are going to want to save your bullets for the most dire of circumstances. As you can tell from their weapons, you're not going to find much in the form of new ammunition."

ooc: Kaz you should know me better. I dont mind waiting. I just like a good rp. Unless you're bored, then we can speed it up real quick. Everyone is free to control their own bandits after I post their opening. Time to lay the smack down. They have average stats like the rest of the people in the past. Enjoy the fun.

As the young man from the future asks me about Faith. I turn to him and smile. "Faith in the heavens above. Faith in the goodness. Faith is a strong thing to have. It can make you do things, you never though you had the strength to do." With that said I look back to the driver and shrug. "A mother I know was able to lift a wagon off of her toddler son. She prayed right before doing that. Her faith was strong enough to help her move the wagon." Then to answer the driver. "The forest. I'm on my way to my temple. How about yourselves?" The horse was trotting slowly beside the cart as we conversed, its ear flicked towards the forest. He nickered a bit and I patted him. Turning back to the men in the cart, I say softly to them all. "Something comes." Sure enough as soon as I turn back an arrow thuds into the wagon followed by three more. A shout from the trees alerts other bandits and they come rushing out with swords drawn, ready for a fight. there were about ten of them present which meant there could be more in the treeline waiting.

This place was so strange, the people were even stranger. I grineded my teeth a bit as I heard the man’s voice coming from in side my own thoughts again. I really didn’t appreciate having the privacy of my own mind invaded when ever he felt like chatting. Still he had a good point, these people didn’t seem to know about bullets or guns, hopefully that would be my edge here. Still I would never have thought things like telepathy were even possible. Was that what Raziel meant, when he told me that people were blind to what they didn’t want to see. I’d thought he’d just been trying to sound wise, but maybe I was the one who was blind.

“Wow” I simply said, “That’s pretty amazing.” But secretly I questioned if faith anything to do with it. A simple adrenaline rush caused by seeing ones offspring in danger could have easily had the same effect. I kept the comment to my self, people needed something to believe in, and just because there was no proof she was right, there was also no proof she was wrong. As the priestess says something is coming I give a confused look, how could she tell? Before I could ask, the arrow had lodged them selves into the side of the wagon and bandits were heading towards us. No way, real bandits!? I thought and immediately pulled the gun and aimed. My old instincts, prevented me from shooting without trying to persuade them to rethink their actions. No matter how silly it may seem, I couldn’t fight the conduct that had been bred into me.
“Stop!” I shouted, as I took aim at the nearest one to me. Of course they didn’t stop, and forgetting my earlier choice to save bullets I pulled the trigger as the man was now only with in a few yards of me.
“Click” the pathetic noise was not what I was expecting. I stared as the man closed the gap quickly. “Empty!? Why was it…” before I could finish that thought the man’s sword was swinging down at me, I moved to dodge but he was too close already and I felt the blade bite as it tore through my pant leg and into my flesh. I rolled to a knee and the man merely turned and swung again. It was too strange, too much too soon, I wasn’t trained to fight swords! Who carried swords in the city!? Again I poorly dodged and another cut had been etched into my upper left arm. The sword was sharp, this was no game, the next swing was right for my head, a killing blow, and if I didn’t pull it together I’d be dead. Quickly I blocked with the only thing I had that could stop a sword’s blade. There was a loud metal ping as the sword connected with my gun.

I am of the opinion that the driver is getting too friendly with this woman. Everything starts to slow down for a moment and I am able to see a projectile flying towards the wagon. This seems very interesting to me and I am enthralled by the ability. The one significant issue is that my amazement by the enhanced focus prevents me from actually stopping the projectiles from hitting the wagon. Speaking to the driver, my words are direct, "Deliver the shipments. I will deal with this. Guards, kill anyone who tries to steal the shipment. If you fail, you will die." Flipping backwards off the wagon, I use my telekinesis to move the wounded police officer back onto the wagon so that he could escape as well. (Confirm character exit) Once Brice is safely on the wagon, one of the guards creates a barrier around the wagon and steeds. The driver pushes the horses to go faster and faster and escape from harm. The arrows fired at the wagon bounce off harmlessly and I watch with a smile as they travel into the distance.

Having seen where the arrows came from, I decide to return fire. "Parī pan̄jē, haṛatāla!" Three crescent shaped blades of spiritual energy fly into the forest and cut into two bandits. Looking at them, I speak, "Telekinetix." I draw the swords from the two fallen archers and pull them towards me blade first to stab two more bandits in the back. Four down, six visible to go. I had not noticed if the priestess had gone with the wagon, but I do not remember seeing her. My reflexes are at such a heightened state right now. This is truly... awesome!

The man that I had yet to figure out who he was, jumped out of the wagon giving orders. So this must their leader. Makes since to my mind. He was fast and I smiled as I heard a higher order spell from him. I would figure out if he was human or spirit later, right now innocent lives were at stake. "Kaelas, attack" I yelled into the forest. sounds of screaming and people being torn limb from limb. Ten more joined the ten rushing the wagon. Only those were running for their lives. A fully grown tiger rushed onto the scene for a moment. His wings tucked against him as he ambushed one of the bandits, dragging him back into the treeline. One down, nineteen to go. Then I glanced over to the man, the wagon making its exit. Four bodies ringed about him and I smiled. At least he was a good fighter. That made four more down and fifteen to go. The odds were getting better.

"By the power of heaven, I give you my strength" (Enhance) My hands began to glow softly as did the pendant around my neck. A hazy mist rose around me and the leader of the wagon. I could feel my body weakening and he should feel his strengthening. The horse sat still as a trained war horse would do. As I held this spell one of the bandits rushed into towards the horse. His ears flicked and he raised up as my knees pressed softly into his sides. He reared up and turned on the bandit, his front hooves caught the sunlight and sparkled. His horseshoes were of the best quality that could be found in this time. Those heavy horse feet fell like rain onto the approaching bandit, who looked on with surprise, dropping his scimitar in the process, his hands coming up to protect himself from the onslaught of the horse. I kept my seat in the saddle throughout the whole attack. I had grown up riding this horse.

From there clothing and weapons, they must have been from the desert tribes. This was getting better and better every moment. The bandit under the horse was not dead but at least he was taken out of the battle. Fourteen to go. I began to reach behind me while still holding the spell. The bow was in my hand and I waited to see what the male would do with his new found strength.

A mist surrounds me and obscures my visage from sight for a moment and I could not have expected it to have this effect on me. An arrow grazes my arm and my fangs sharpen and release as do my claws and I do my best to keep my tail out of sight for a moment. The cloak conceals my change in my features. It would be unmistakable to notice the extreme increase in my speed first and foremost. Now able to move on par with the speed reserved for gods, I look at the incoming bandits. This is about to be bad... real bad! The claws protruding out of the back of my hands are covered in this metallic substance that extends out a bit and gleams in the light. My body armor and mask forms over my body and the cloak fades away. I suppress the release of my wings for now as I smirk and vanish from sight as I charge the bandit. The bandit would be able to see afterimages of my body.

Coming up on the first "wave", my arms extend so that the claws could tear deep into the forms of the bandits. My tail sways back and forth behind me until I stop next to a bandit after several bodies have been eviscerated with squirting, gushing, and showering of blood in my wake. There is a light mist or haze that seems to be moving around amongst the bandits. Some of them are fortunate to be too far away, but for those close enough... that is a very different story. The bandit I come to stop next to finds that he feels a breeze move by him before he quickly starts to lose all feeling at all. His head is floating in the air for a moment before it finally begins to fall to the ground. I have to admit, I am really enjoying giving in to the Fury, I have never been able to perform a vorpal tail lash, but I want to do it again. I want to feel more of their blood oozing down my claws and tails and splattering across my face. I want to inflict more pain upon each of them... I want to feel more of these sensations that I am experiencing now! As the Fury continues to build within me, I roar at the charging bandits who are not caught between the beast in the woods and the one in the open...

My eyes widen as I realize that there was a demon in fighting with me. And by the looks of it, a rather powerful one. I blink as my spell boosted him to godlike powers. I could not do much more than sit there for the first moments of his carnage. Even Kaelas stopped and looked at him. Perhaps that had not been the best choice of spell. I held it for him for a bit long, enough time for him to get in a few more hits.

Upon seeing the demon, the horse's eyes roll in fright and I grab the reins, jerking hard against them. The beast still rose up and bucked me to the ground. It took off in a rush away from the raging demon. Stupid beast. He could handle anything the forest could throw at him, but the minute a demon shows up and he was off like lightening. I pick myself up and reach for my bow at my feet. At least it hadn't been trampled. Kaelas had resumed his rending and ripping of flesh. I began to lose count of the dead. Well since my spell had failed, I shrug and pull out a normal arrow. With a twang it flies through the air and lands in the back of a bandit raising a scimitar to the demon's back. I could not believe I was protecting a demon. Well it may still be good, but judging by the trail of blood he was leaving, I highly doubted it. The bandit's heart exploded through his chest on the tip of the arrow (powered shot), before he fell to ground.

I reached behind me and knocked another arrow, my slender fingers holding the shaft (pun intended) as the feathers tickled my ear. I start to notice very few bandits left and some were even trying to flee. Now it was time to see what this demon would do.

So this is what the Fury feels like when I unleash it! I look down at my claws which are dripping with blood and lick them. I frown when I realize that while much changes here, the dissatisfying taste of human blood does not. I don't understand how vaspires can do it. As two bandits fall off to the side of me, two other bandits look at me deciding to attack and several fallen scimitars lift into the air around me. The bandits thinking it better to tuck tail and run turn from me and bolt towards the forest. "Disgusting cowards!" Reaching out towards them, their retreat is like two turtles racing to my eyes. Judging by the speed and body positioning, I find the optimal intercept spots and let the swords fly at them like a tornado of blades. Looking around, I notice that I am running out of enemies to smite! Now this is becoming upsetting. The Fury calls for more carnage and more destruction, but there is no one but the priestess who apparently has some modicum of skill with a bow. The Fury yearns for me to continue, but I am able to fight back my urges to attack her. She has committed no ill towards me. Refrain.

If she is looking on, she would notice the tint of my skin exposed at my bicep areas lightens to its light golden brown. My now blood soaked hair lightens to a red and white color. The claws retract back into my flesh and I tilt my head back in a ethereal exhale as my fangs and tail retreat from sight. My eyes lighten to their natural gold color. My armor vanishes and the cloak returns. Looking over at the priestess, I breathe heavily. "How did I lose control over it...?" I have never felt the Fury take such a hold as it did just now, yet I have also never felt that much power coursing thru my veins since my Dark Kami Rebirth.

When he turns towards me with that look of bloodrage in his eyes, I treat him like I would any beast that did not have control of their actions. I slowly set the bow down and raised my hands. Thus proving I was not a threat to be taken out. If he attacked me with that much power, I did not think I would be able to withstand it.

Watching him, I could tell he was changing, perhaps back to normal. I let out the breath I did not know I had been holding. This was a good sign, I hoped. His skin and hair changed colors and I glanced down at the bow. My silver eyes gaze back up to meet his now gold ones. Hesitantly, I offer a weak smile. He seemed to be troubled by his actions. that was always a good sign. "I believe when I gave you my strength. It might have had a bit of a side effect." I answer his question thoughtfully. His wings flared out making himself look a bit bigger. He was about the size of my war horse if not a bit bigger. I shifted back to watching the demon wondering what he would be doing next.

Looking her over as she speaks, my features return to normal including my eyes which had started glowing a dark gold tint while I was in Dark Kami form. My hood falls back as the black and dark brown tribal lines and markings that cover my face retreat inwards towards my eyes and seemingly into my hair. The blood dripping from the back of my hands "sinks" back into my flesh and I look at the woman again as she speaks. Hmm... so she gave me her strength. The Xartian (Onitoshi) accent is apparent and has a sort of Eastern European/North African hint to it (think Akasha in Queen of the Damned or Angelina Jolie in Alexander) when I address her now finally out of the Fury "If I wanted you dead, it would be so already. Interesting beast. I have never seen a spirit like you before... though you don't have the aura of a spirit. So as some of my powers get stronger, some are getting weaker. More concerning is the Fury still is able to take hold. I must gain control." Looking around, I eye the direction of the wagon and village. "Pick up your bow, you may come to need it again. I am called Tyrn by my people. You do not need to fear me, Priestess. At least not at this moment. We should get moving." I am intrigued by this priestess and her abilities. I wonder how else she can augment my powers. I think I want her alive for a bit. How do her powers work? My eyes continue to scan the area as I realize that everything is still moving at a slightly slower speed or perhaps I am just analyzing things much quicker than before. I am not sure, but I am really starting to like this!

I bend down and curl my slender fingers around the bow, picking it up gently. My silver gaze meets his again after all of that change. I assumed he was now back to normal, at least for his kind. At the mention of the beast I glance to the demonic kitten and pet him on the head. "Thank you. Kaeles, find the horse." And the puffed up youth disappeared back into the shadows of the forest. There was a story behind the cat, but unless asked I would not speak much at all. It became apparent that I was not needed to talk much anyways. He was carrying on the conversation quite well by himself. I was the quiet sort unless in a teaching mood so I remained silent. At least he was not out to kill me. Now the accent of this demon was rather fascinating. As I listened, my eyes scanned the horizon for that wagon. "My thoughts exactly." I reply to his last few comments. I glance down at the tracks of the wagon in the dirt. It would not be too far ahead. "A pleasure, Tyrn. I am Kazakura, High Priestess of the Temple of Time." my voice is low and musical. kind of like the stream that bubbled over the rocks of my garden. It usually had a soothing quality on people. My hand came up to the pendant around my throat as I start down the path of the wagon. A faint glow peeking threw my fingers. For a moment, the same silver light resonated from the tattoo on my arm. "Light of my soul, refresh" That silver mist would surround us again, but this time restoring his powers. A trickle of blood comes from my eye as a tear. But soon disappears. Leaving my face as before. I felt some pain, but I could handle it. "In case there are more waiting to attack." I explain as I continue to move onwards.

When the beast does not respond, it settles me in my thoughts that it is a pure animal... or anti-social. The beast takes off leaving us alone and rather than give any notice to the tracks, I look at the bodies. I don't like leaving evidence behind. "Havā." A white ring with a tornado like symbol appears on my left hand's ring finger. With a single sweeping gesture, the bodies are moved together and I look at the same hand before I speak again, "Sthira." A burst of ice leaps from the ring and engulf the bodies in a crystalized prison that forms into a sort of tomb for them. I consider shattered the tomb, but just ignore it and walk away. Pausing for a moment, I look at her. "What is a High Priestess of Time? You can control time or do you just monitor its flow?" I become intrigued by her. I suppose it is for the best that I had no plans of killing her, after all. I wonder if I could actually learn from this human. They are a resourceful breed after all. I notice the tattoo illuminate, but make no reference or gesture in regards to it. So she is a Marked One. Interesting that they exist in this realm as well. I seem to encounter more Marked Ones than actual spirits. "You are interesting. Most of your kind fear me when they realize what I am capable of. How is it that you do not?"

Apparently he was not from around here with that kind of question. my mind contemplates the question and I formulate an answer. I glance him and his second question came to mind. So he wanted to know. I smile and chuckle a bit. "To answer your first question. I can control time. Not to the degree that my grandmother could, but I am still young. Also I can feel when time fluxes such as a few weeks ago." We also held the scrolls of time, but that was not common knowledge. The second part I wondered if I should tell him and what exactly I should tell him. To admit to fear would be to fall into a trap so to say. To not to admit fear would be foolish. To fear or not to fear. That is the question. (sorry couldn't resist). I soft sigh and I turn back to the horizon. "It is not that I do not fear, it is that I know how to move past that fear." Training had taught me to master my fear, thank the heavens for older brothers.

Nodding my head, I find my senses coming back to normal as everything starts moving at full speed now that I am fully removed from my thoughts of battle. That is quite the useful ability to have in battle. Looking at the priestess, I nod to her. "That is pretty impressive. To be able to control time itself and command power over these scrolls of time as well. That might really be able to come in handy for you. Speaking of time, I need to ensure that our shipment arrived on time. Have you ever teleported before?" Depending on her response, I would create a column of light around us to hasten our transport to the temple city of Shima. Upon reaching the temple, we would have to part company, but part of me hoped that I would meet her again, so that she could tell me more about her magical abilities. There weren't many humans who could perform magic and I had met far fewer in this realm.

Bowing to her respectfully, I wish her good health and prosperity. If she said nothing else, I would continue to the rendezvous point to pick up my payment and regroup with the boys. I needed to gather the team and return to Hejar so that I could get the scroll that I need with the location of the next clue. I am already aware that the team will want to relax and enjoy some leisure time here. While corrupting temple maidens is a bit of sport for me in this realm, I am more concerned with returning home to my realm.
