Subject: The Prodigal Priestess (Return of Kazakura) Thu Sep 16, 2010 7:16 pm
I stood at the now finished underground dwelling of my lord. I had fled. My fear of what I was becoming having overtaken me. My fear of Him. I thought I had come to grips with it, but I had left without a sound, without much of anything to let anyone know as to where I had gone. I disappeared during that carnival after seeing exactly what Domen was capable of doing. My fear on that day had been, to say the least, monumental. He was a demon. No matter how are I tried to sugar coated it in my mind, he was a demon. Something I had sworn to protect my people from. Something I had sworn to protect myself from. It was a hard lesson to be learned. And I did the coward thing and fled. But that was only known to myself.
Shifting from foot to foot, I wondered at the progress in my absence. I also wondered as to my welcome in this place. Wouldn't that be a wonderful thing. To have finally come to grips with my own fear at my reality. Sad but true. I was after all... only human. Funny thing to say here. My hand reached for the door and rested on the solid barrier. Still, after all this time, I trembled with the knowledge that from this point on, there was no turning back from this road. If I was welcomed back then I would never flee from this again. I would most likely fear him from time to time, but I could never run. Although he had not looked for me, so I might just be that low on his list of priorities. If the door was locked, then I would reach for one of my pins and pick the lock. If it was not locked, my hand would apply the necessary pressure to ease the door open. My feet carrying me inside, the soft soles of my sandals making little sound on the floor.
I wore my typical silver robe tonight, my hair done up and off my neck. I was partially wet from the storm that blew outside. Kaelas would be happy that I was back, I hoped. That massive beast was not only mine, but Domen's as well. Almost like a rather large rug, that could reach up and take a leg off if he wanted. The night that I had found him, was the same night that..... I shivered as the memory rose up. It held no fear for me now. Sadness and hurt, but no fear. While I was gone, I had done some studying and praying. And also some meditating. It had hurt in the end. My heart ached as the time wore on and I was apart from him. He was like a drug I could not for the life of me, get out of my system. He was my life now. When I had realized that, the rest came easily. I had no choice but to return. I moved down the hallway and looked about. If I was still welcome here, I would need to do a little redecorating, nothing major or really noticeable, but like my stuff in the bathroom and bedroom. The little things that said that I lived here.

Steps come up behind the priestess before coming to a pause. Much like her, his tanned and weathered body was partially wet due to the inclement weather. There is a pause before he speaks out in a voice verifying his identity: Hakim. “I thought it might be you, priestess…” the male speaks. In her absence, he had acquired many men to work beneath him. He was a valued servant of Domenance and as such his role provided him a class status that would make him a noble in the growing nation; still, that did not change the carpenter. He still examined all the work himself, by hand, and he and his brother took pride in every building that was erected in the name of Domenance. He continues, “you departure did not go unnoticed by the Lord, but that is not my affair. If you are seeking out our Lord, he is not here. Another demi god like him came seeking him when he was away at Harlem…” Another voice breaks in and interjects, “that is correct.” The higher pitch reveals the small fairy known as Paco as stands in the air, hovering in a stoic manner with his arms folded and a scowl upon his face. “The master where about are known only by me… but before that…” The small fairy shoots out in a bee line towards Kazakura, or mainly her bosom, as he attempts to embrace her with his small frame questioning, “where have you been?”

My mind must have been wandering not to have heard the footsteps. That Low voice made me smile as I turned to face the large man. "Thank you for telling me, Hakim. This is beautiful. Your work as always is amazing." At least he had noticed. My silver eyes glanced around as I hoped that I would be able to speak to Domen rather soon. Not knowing if my presence was welcomed or not was troubling, but I would not voice that. As he went on I heard the voice of that little man. So he was still around. That meant that Domen was not all powerful yet. And as for another demi-god. I wondered what was happening and had happened in my absence. The temple had been built and living structures.
Then I caught the fairy heading straight for me at chest level and shook my head. It seemed that not everything had changed. I caught him right as he reached my chest, just so that he would not crash into the moist robe and thus have him scrambling up my dress. That would surely cause the garment to be pulled down and freeing those milky white orbs. I smile at him and chuckle softly. "Greetings Paco. I am glad to see you. I apologize for my absence, but I was struck by a complete momentary loss of sanity. But I have return no worse for wear. Where is the Master? And when will he return?" And silently I added, will I be welcome.

Hakim watches the greeting between the fairy and the priestess. With that, he gives an approval nod and then turns, making his way towards the back entrance of the cavern palace to exit it. He knew that Paco could handle things from here.
As the fairy is counter greeted, he is quick to attempt to be helpful. His attitude with Kazakura was always different than when dealing with anyone else other than the master. Flying back a little bit, he hovers before her and grins, knowing he had helpful words. In a know-it-all mannerism, he speaks, “the master has gone to the future realm with a Kamikonjou. Apparently, they are going to travel into the Onitoshi portal there and attempt to find and battle with a fearsome foe from the master’s past.” Paco remembers, “you’ve been there once, you remember? The master should return after he has thoroughly taught all of Onitoshi a lesson in his might!”

I nod as Hakim takes his leave and continue my talk to Paco. His words startle me a little. That sounded rather... dangerous. My hand comes up to rub the bridge of my nose as I shake my head. It would figure that he was off fighting something. One of his favorite past times. Fighting and conquering, which usually involved fighting. But then again, He was a harsh, rough man. He was no romantic in his dealings. He was as he had always been. At least he never lied to me. So I had never lied to him. Standing back, as I had been for this time away, I had looked upon the relationship and wondered if what he had given me was his version of courtship. Perhaps it had been his way of showing affection, since rough, coarse men such as Domen, were not know to be vocal or emotional in their dealings. Ardent perhaps, but not emotional. Taking in a deep breath, my mouth curving up into a half smile, I speak again. "That could be awhile. A long time to wait, but I will wait. Perhaps he will be surprised at my return. Perhaps he may even feel a little happiness in my return." More likely I would be questioned, punished, and then my fate sealed. I would not know until after the first two whether I would be welcomed back. My hand reached up in a gesture as I remembered the last time I was punished. I do not remember whether the banishment hurt worse or the back of his hand.

Paco assures her, “I’m sure the master can’t wait to see you!” picking up on the unsure nature that he had been dense to thus far. He proceeds, “why wait? The master is probably low on my magical elixir. I know where this place is, since I’ve been there before.” There is a mental flashback that occurs only in his head, of the time he went to hell’s portal to find Mukesh and the two female demons. He continues, “I’ll take you there and you can meet him! I’m sure he’ll be happy to see you. It shouldn’t take long for us to get there, and if he’s in a place filled with demon, he might not come out until he’s killed them all. If you add up the amount of time it takes a demon to die, that could be several days from now. If he needs his stamina replenished, then you can be of use to him…” Deciding to use her feelings against he pauses and adds, “but what if he’s hurt… no one is able to heal him like you can! He could be there, cold and all alone… well… however cold someone can be in Onitoshi, I hear it’s pretty hot down there.”

As Paco fires off his words in rapid succession, I blink and am stunned by what he is saying. And if he is wrong and I end up treading where I am not wanted, or needed, then the punishment would be far worse. Exile instead of banishment. I shook my head to clear it of those thoughts. Then I hold up a hand and forestall anymore bursting of words from his mouth as I gather my wits, but before he stops he spews out a clear tug at my emotional attachment to his master. "You like to hit a person in their most sensitive areas, do you not?" I wait for a moment and shake my head. To head to the demon realm again might spell disaster but if he needed me then I had no choice. "Alright-Alright, Paco. I will go." It came out as a defeated sigh. "Take me to him" I would just have to make sure I did not distract him too much from his mission.

With a grin, Paco nods his head in victory and states, “you’re making the right choice! Our master was so worried about you. He actually said ‘where is that priestess’… can you believe that? He almost never asks where I am… or maybe he does and I’m just not around to hear him say it?” The fairy shrugs; during his ranting he would have found himself flying in a waving pattern about the priestess in circles. He pauses for a moment and states, “well, you just got here… do you need to rest or eat? You’re human, so I’m assuming you would need rations and such. No doubt you’ll need a bathing too, we cannot present a dirty priestess to the master… We’ll want to get that mongrel out here as well, because walking there would be no fun at all. I fly everywhere I go… it’s too bad you can’t fly…” Having not seen Kaelas to this point, he looks about and whistles in a mock tone, “here kitty kitty…” To this point, Kaelas would have had his main order from Domen’yun to survey the borders of the land to the make sure the people were safe. It not in attendance already, he would be returning from his rounds about this time through the front door.

Amused I shook my head. "If he asked 'where is that priestess" The he was likely angry with me." I was never called by my name. It was one of those questions that floated through my mind from time to time. Was it because to use my name, would put more value upon me? I just listened to Paco rant and rave on. "Paco, how long will it take us." At this time Kaelas would be entering and I could hear those massive scimitars he had for claws clicking against the floor. Turning, I behold the large cat that had served as my mount. Would he be mine, or would he answer to Domen more than me by now. I reached a hand up and got a nose to my palm as the tiger proceeded to sniff me, almost knocking me over in his snuffling. A low purr could be heard motoring through the place. "Its good to see you too, Kaelas."
After petting Kaelas, I would then look to Paco. "I will bathe and then we will leave." With that, I peak into the room that I had once shared with my lord. Stepping into the room, I would look to see if my things were still there and if they showed signs of being moved. Perhaps he had carelessly lifted them and wondered where I had been. That was my romantic side fantasizing again. If they were still there, then perhaps my welcome was a little closer to assured. Moving into the bathroom, I glance about at the seat that I had sat at multiple times and brushed my hair in front of the mirror. I wondered if everything was still in place, dusty or cleaned. If they were still there, unless I was stopped by paco or Kaelas, I would begin my bathing routine.
After I was scrubbed and squeaky clean I would come back out to the hallway area and smile. "I'm ready" My hair loose around my bare shoulders. "Do I pass inspection?"

Thinking about the question posed to him, the fairy spins a bit before stopping and bringing his finger to the side of his face and holding a thinking man’s pose. Lifting the previously used finger into the air, he nods in an animated manner as he confirms, “it should take us about an hour or less to fly there if the furball can move as fast as I and from there, about four times that long to reach the portal to Onitoshi. In all, it might be half a day’s trip to get there.” After she speaks about bathing, he would passively float following her as the conversation continued into the next room. Everything would still be in place and kept clean, as Hakim’s family would include women who catered to the subterranean palace much like a maid service. During this time, Paco would continue to talk with the only notable change being a small amount of blood leaking from his nose as he watched Kazakura bathe. He would continue to fill in Kazakura of the things missed while gone. When the bath is over and she speak again, he nods with a foxish grin and comments, “you pass for now. Since you won’t be actively flying, you can sleep on the way there, I’ll just lead the cat.”

I nod and place my foot on what would amount to Kaelas' elbow, hefting my thin frame up, I straddled him and patted his head. It was good to be back. Truly it was. It felt like home. "Sounds as if you had planned this out for weeks, Paco. Lead on, I will sleep on the way. Let's just hope that you are right." Clicking my heel softly into the cat's hide, he would turn and with little else for direction wait for for Paco and follow close behind him. "oh and Paco, you have blood coming from your nose" Eventually the flying cat's motion would rock me to sleep. I had lost weight while away. It happened when one was overly stressed and not thinking about eating. Not that I ate that much anyways.
