War Games

He was in a semi-circle of ten other people that represented his team, wearing a camo fatigues and was listening too a repetition of a battle plan. Kuna was going to be part of the designated marksmen, so he would be hanging back while the riflemen advanced under cover, while they continued to talk his mind drifted back too how he had got into this little military exercise.

Kuna had been surfing the web (he refused to call it the realm for some obstinate reason), when he had stumbled onto a group that was holding a airsoft meeting in a portion of the forest, that was frequently used by them. The airsoft group used a ton of different weaponry, but all of which were harmless. It let him train his skills in using firearms without actually having to purchase them. He had before buying his Garand a fair collection of airsoft rifles enough of all the major brands of firearms represented like the FN P90, Steyr AUG. Haikashia model, all of them, or near enough.

He would come out of his revelry as the debriefing ended, and the squad began taking up positions. Kuna took up his position, and he was silently glad that Izuya hadn't popped up yet.

The mini map forms in the upper right hand corner of each user’s head gear with the enemy’s signal only showing if they were to make a sound or fire against an alley. The COM lines are set up and the terrain is set as a tattered forest village. The spawning point would be within the woods with the main area of conflict being a large interiors village about three city blocks in radius. In it there was a waist high wooden fence surrounding the village, rusted vehicles within along with metallic sheds, two story houses and buildings consisting of brick, and various other structures one could find in such an area. The objective was kill count in this scenario, teammates would have a blue aura around them while enemies would appear normal. The game would be initiated and the opposing team would be on the move, assumedly on the opposite side of the village. At the moment, Kuna’s radar would show nothing as the game would just be getting underway; there would be no gunshots given just yet as both sides would be setting up. One of Kuna’s teammates communicates over, “lol1010101, I’m bout to pwn all! Foloow meh!” He rushes forwards without waiting on the team, heading straight for the interior of the village. Other team mates sigh and remark about the noob on the team while three decide to make a cell and take a left approach. One hangs back as a sniper and looks for the building or shed he would want to snipe from.

Kuna looked down and checked his weapon making sure it was loaded with a full set of rounds. He had selected the Tavor assault rifle as his primary weapon and the large SOCOM pistol as his back up, both would work well for there respective roles. Immediately one of the greener teammates immediately charged into the village without first giving a tactical assessment of the situation. He was more then likely to rage quit after getting killed the first few times. The blond would keep the the original plan and form a three man cell for the center and fall back while the two advanced. His position would fall back behind cover and frequently make use of scope that was mounted on the top of his assault rifle. "It looks like we have our first bogies coming up." Kuna whispered through his radio, and there was a burst of static before something else came through. "OMG WTF I just got killed by some fag!" Looks like the noob had already been killed for the first time.

With the onset of the first round, it was evident that someone was going to get taken out first. The plucky gun-ho noob rushes out into the village looking to cut the distance between himself and the enemy units. There is no sound, but his screen goes red as he was apparently taken out by a sniper with a silencer on his weapon. He shouts out said shout as per mentioned by the former RPer in this thread and is returned to the spawning point from whence he would retry his balls out tactics. Aside from him, there seemed to be something very odd on the other side of the field. Aside from the other team seemingly holding back and camping, there seemed to be one guy that was out in the open who continually crouched and lifted up time and time again in an odd manner. One such person on Kuna’s team attempted to shoot him, but the shot seemed to go straight through the male. The shooter is shot and it become evident that the other side had a glitcher on their team. The glitcher continues to roam around crouching, ducking and laying down, then standing up in a repeated manner moving through the main streets of the village.

Kuna had ducked behind a ruined pickup and picked up the resulting traffic over the radio about the glitcher. There were one of three ways that could be done to deal with a cheater like this one was too report them to the moderators, second was too quit in disgust, and the third was to out glitch the glitcher. Kuna decided to take option number three as he rushed too one of the ammo dumps and picked up the rocket launcher, or known in his circles as the noob tube, and quickly activated a glitch related to it, with the same glitched walking behavior shoot it towards enemy hoping that it would get past its glitched status and hit him for full damage.

While Kuna initiates his own version of the glitch, one of the snipers on the opposing teams shoots at him. Of course, since he was in a glitch, the headshot misses. The red team member announces this to the glitcher who moves from his previous position so that by the time Kuna arrives there, he would already be moving and no longer on the mini map. Suddenly, there is the sound of jet engines as it would seem an air strike had been ordered on Kuna position… yeah, I know. The bombs come down and there are large explosions; it seemed to be the only effective way to deal with the glitcher’s limited hit box… or something like that. If it was successful, Kuna would be returned to the spawn point. Suddenly, something would happen on the other side as the glitcher had been voted off and or removed from the game by a moderator. For that moment, the game returns to a normal war game… oh, and there’s a tank in the center of the village that can be used by either side. One of Kuna’s members states that he would be going for the tank and request backup.

It was his first time being killed in that particular game, which was frustrating since he had wanted to earn at least one kill before dying. He would be marching back into the fray this time going a longer way around by circumventing and going around the village until the midpoint where he would cut back into it. The change in direction would let him out-flank one of the opposing team, and a quick spray of bullets from his Tavor and he racked up his first kill, that was when he heard the first request for back up for the suddenly spawned tank. He would put in a quick response acknowledging the request as he moved hugging the cover as much as he could, while moving towards the center. Kuna turned on the radio and requested an estimate time of arrival for the other player to arrive at the tank.

There is frustration on the other end as Kuna ranks up his first kill of the round. The way the game was going, by now everyone seemed to have at least one kill, save for one guy who sucked ass. Coming ahead of the others, a member on Kuna’s team seemed to be leading the pack with 3 kills on the enemy side; this would also be the male running for the tank. He thanks his teammates for covering as he comes to the tank and proceeds to attempt to get into it; a process that took about 10 seconds to fully work and left them open to RPG munitions.

Kuna parked himself on one side of the tank using it for cover as he used his scope to get the lay of the land. He spotted a likely sniper perch, but the thing that worried him the most was two boogies coming in hot, with one of them bearing a stinger missile launcher. He swiftly brought up his rifle and fired off a few rounds at the one with the launcher causing him to duck for the nearest cover while the other one rushed towards him gun blazing. He would rack up damage and be forced to take cover behind the tank, and he knew that he wouldn't be able to get back out and fire at the missile bearer before he launched the missile at the tank, which meant they were pretty much screwed. "LEEEEEEROY JEEEEENKIIIIINSSSSS!" Would come over the radio as the noob who was going balls to the wall charged the two opposing enemies. Most of his fire was wildly off, but he had managed to shift the focus of their attention and fire too him, allowing Kuna to jump back out of cover and put a scathing barrage of assault rifle fire down on the stinger missile killing it and racking up his second kill. The noob unfortunately had been killed once again with his suicidal charge.

The members of the team all have a moment of silence for the noob who showed bravery in the face of adversity. That moment passes very quickly, however, as the lead member hops in the tank and starts moving it. Aboard the tank there were two turret positions to take, one of which is immediately occupied. There comes a blip on the radar, and then there is a loud ‘booming’ noise that emits from the nozzle of the tank, followed by an explosion, and the indication that 4 enemies have been fragged. They are resent to the spawning point to try again.

Kuna raced away from the tank having completed his objective of covering for his teammate to secure it, which would be a lighting rod for the opposing teams attention, ably demonstrated by racking up four kills with one tank shot. He would use the diversion to do a bit of sniper hunting and retrace his steps and head around to come from the side of the perch he had seen earlier giving him needed cover the close the last bit of distance. His decision yielded immediate results with the revelation of the teams opposing sniper, so he would throw a stun grenade into the perch that the sniper was in to prevent a quick change of weaponry as he barged in and put several rifle rounds into the snipers virtual cranium and earning his third kill count.

Devastation continues as the tank rummages the center of the village soaking up gun fire. The grenades keep the snipers at bay, but after respawning and gaining the positions of the enemy units, they start to spread out a bit more and keep their distance. Three of the opposite team picks up RPG rounds and soon there is the sound of rockets flaring in the distance. Three rockets hit the tank one after another and the tank explodes taking out those around it. The person running the tank respawns back to the start point. Kuna’s team is in the lead with 30s left on the game clock.

The tank had done its job, and had diverted the attention from the rest of the team allowing them to rack up several more kill counts, even the noob managed to get one as could be heard over the radio with his comments about teabagging. Kuna had left the snipers perch after having spotted a isolated gunman, which would be perfect for another quick kill in the last thirty seconds of the game that was left. He would quickly descend from the perch and give a quick sprint in the direction of the gunman, who would see him charging and unleash a withering suppressive fire, but he was far away too take shelter behind a derelict van. The element of surprise was gone though, and the ensuing firefight would take longer then the last thirty seconds would take for the match to conclude.
