|  " Victims, aren't we all? "
Landon sighs as he glances over at the clock on the wall before looking back at the tv. It was already past time when his parents should be by to pick him up, though they where only a few doors down he was told one of them would come get him but either had yet to show up. Landon sat there a bit longer before he climbed to his feet " Im gonna get a drink. " he said before making his way to the kitchen. After making his way into the kitchen he went to the fridge and pulled it open before pulling the soda out and set it on the counter before he leaned up and got a cup out of the cabinet. After grabbing a glance he set it down and filled it with soda " I wonder whats taking them so long... ". Landon took a sip from his drink before putting the soda back into the fridge and made his way to the living room, setting his drink on the table in front of the couch before he fell back onto the couch with his friends to watch more tv. Landon sat with his friends watching tv and sipping on his soda as he waited for his parents, unaware they were working up a surprise birthday for him... About an hour later a knock came from the door, Landon glanced over at the door when he heard the knock and someone came to answer the door. " Hello? Oh, yes. Landon your mother is here to get you. " The person said as they looked to Landon. Landon nodded and jumped up from the couch " Ok. ". He said, taking his glass to the kitchen before he made his way to the door and looked out at his mother before he left with her, heading back to there apartment. Landon followed his mother as she lead the way back to the apartment. Once they were there she pushed the door open " Landon sweetie, why don't you go wash up for dinner. " she said, looking down at Landon. He nodded and went off to wash up for dinner. Landon made his way into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him before he turned the water on and started to wash his hands. After washing his hands, Landon washed his face and then dried it off before setting the towel back on the rack. After putting the towel away Landon stepped away from the counter and walked out of the bathroom, heading to the kitchen. He only made it about half way when he seen the lights where off making it so he couldn't see " Hello? " Landon said as he glanced around, starting to get freaked. Suddenly the lights came on and people yelled " Surprise! " these actions caused Landon to jump back, clutching his chest and letting out a light scream. His mother rushed over to make sure he was ok and offered him a smile as she spoke " Happy birth day sweetie. " Landon looked at his mother and smiled, following her as she lead him into the kitchen. Landon was the first to get cake, followed by every one else and the party kicked off, a few of Landon's friends from the building came to his party as well. Landon couldn't help but look at some of the presents as they sat on the table in there wrappings and wanted to open them right away, but he had to wait until it was time to open them, which seemed like torture to him. When the time came, Landon was allowed to open each of the presents on the table and that he did, making quick work of the wrapping paper on each of them and pulling out the goodies in side. Landon looked at all his gifts and stood in amazement at all the cool stuff he had gotten, he thanked each person that brought him a gift and everyone who came to his birth day party. After Landon had opened everything on the table he thought that was all but his father came out with a special gift he had kept hidden until the end of the party. His father came out with a package and handed it to Landon " Happy birth day son. " He said with a smile. Landon looked at the gift for a moment before he opened it. Once he had it unwrapped, Landon found it was a knife his father had gotten him " Wow cool. ". It wasn't long after that that the party was brought to a close and everyone went home.
