Home on the Range (Long Intro - Open, Shooting Practice) Kyrobanner
With a soft hiss of the breaks releasing, the bus drives off to my rear and in front of me lays the City Metro Range. This time, I bring my own weapons to practice with. I stood in my black slacks and shirt with a duffel bag hanging from my shoulder. The contents include my current inventory. It was late in the afternoon, and the sun begins its quest towards the western horizon just past the halfway point in the sky. Well before evening, there were still a few hours of daylight that I would be able to claim from the day. This was the usual time that I would meet up with Nigel for my lessons in weapon training and after my initial training with the shotgun and proving competence with the pistol, my tutor has pretty much allowed me to train on my own utilizing unlimited ammunition from the range.

I walk and proceed through the parking lot to make my way into the ranges. There I make my way to Nigel’s ‘office’ where he normally could be found during the day when he was not working at the ranges. I knock at the door, and it opens revealing a place that resembles something like a high school coach’s office in close proximity to the locker room. The dark male greets me with an upward nod as he makes his way back to the chair where he was sitting down and seemingly browsing the Internet for porn. I stand in the middle of the room and watch him as his attention moves back to the console that sat atop his desk. Looking around, it was a dark and secluded area, so it would make sense for him to be doing this in his spare time… I guess. I didn’t readily see the ammunition I would be using, but before I got to inquire on it, he speaks. “So I hear you’ve been putting in work, Ghost,” he says to me while still browsing through nude women online. With a nod, I simply comment, “I have.” He nods and turns to me, grinning. The smile is reassuring, but the noticeable erection in his fatigue bottoms is alarming. He stands up and the protrusion becomes more apparent. I attempt not to look down at it, but it was like trying to ignore an elephant in the room. “Yeah,” he says with a head nod, “Tre says you’ve been doing real good. Says you’ve been looking out for the fellas.” He takes a step towards me and unconsciously I step back wanting to steer clear of his scepter. “Good shit,” he congratulates, “you know I’m Vincent’s brother, right?” I blink and look to him. “Really?” I ask. He nods, “oh hell yeah. See, he went one way and I went the other, but it all comes back to the hood. Damn police wouldn’t let me roll how I wanted to… plus my brother was a conflict of interest… so I bounced.” This had the possibility of being good. He was in the police, so he might be able to help me, but then again, I had to be careful what I said to him. Instead of asking direct questions, I ask, “when did you leave?” He remarks, “a few years ago.” Damn. It hadn’t gone down yet. Aside from that, he left the force before my parent’s incident. “Oh,” I say. I could ask him about the incident of my parents murder and ask if he knew anything about it, but chances are he wouldn’t. Just for shits and giggles, I inquire, “So you wouldn’t know about an arson murder about a year back?” He looks at me in an odd fashion and laughs. “That kind of shit happens every day man, you got to be more specific,” he informs me. I let it go at this point. I did not wish to reveal the fact that my father was in some type of specialized division of the police, so he probably did not work in the same area as Nigel, and since the erected male wasn’t directly affiliated with syndicated crime, then this would be another dead end. He reaches a locker to my side and opens it, speaking, “but if it’s a big crime, more than likely, it’s something to do with The Black Wings… or you guys.” There goes that name again. He pulls out a bag and hands it to me. I could feel the ammunition in it. I hold it in my arms and he steps back. “I heard about the fireworks in east city from people around. Nobody knows it was yall, but it’s caught some attention. Make sure to stay safe, and stay away from The Black Wings, you heard?” With a nod, I assure him that I had in fact heard, and from there, I thank him for the ammo and advise, “I’ll be off to practice now.” I turn towards the door to exit and feel a sharp slap on my ass accompanied by, “aite then, foo. Do your best!” and then the door is shut. I stand outside the door for a moment giving my mind time to register whether I’ve just been felt up, or if that was one of those sportsmen gestures.

With the bag of ammo and my duffel bag of equipment, I make my way back out of the locker area and begin to make my way to the open ranges. I come out into the interior of the range area in an area full of passersby, guys talking on the side and displaying their guns, and shooters in the booths. I take a moment to pause and look for an open booth to begin my shooting. 960

Action: Walking into the ranges and searching for an open booth.

Having arrived at the range little over an hour ago, I had gotten some spare ammunition, as I was running low on my own supply, to use for my practice. Coming here was starting to become a regular thing for me, it allowed me to practice in an environment dedicated to the use of firearms. Standing off to the side in the range, I had been on a little break, letting some other shooters take there turn to shoot off a few rounds at the targets down range. As I stand off to the side I check over my pistol, fiddling around with it some before I shift my attention back to the shooters, watching them as they went about shooting, talking and showing off there guns.. As I watched them I began to spin my pistol around on my finger much like you see in the movies, spinning it forwards and backwards as I watched them. Standing there, I wonder if any of these men actually used there weapons out side the range, sure you can go into a empty lot and shoot shit up but what I'm talking about is using there fancy guns against real people. Shooting a paper target is a lot different then shooting a living, breathing person... Staring at a man and putting a bullet right between his eyes...

While looking for possible booths to fill, I notice a familiar figure standing to the side and twirling his gun while watching others. I suppose I was wrong to think that I probably wouldn’t see him again. If we often came to the same range, I would probably see him around on a normally regular basis. I debate internally whether I should speak to him or not. It could be weird, and I didn’t have too many friends outside of ‘work’ that I associated with. I didn’t know the rules of being chummy and such with another male. Then again, if he saw me not notice him, it could be considered rude and he might be put off. There was the chance that he could notice me and say hello as well. By this point in my train of thought, I am pretty sure that I am over thinking things, so I decide to go ahead and say hi to him before making my way to the range booths. Walking at a casual pace, I make my way towards the male, remembering his name to be Ingel. As I approach, my voice lifts as I speak, “yo.” That’s about where my ‘starting a conversation’ skills ended. I was certain there should be some follow up after that or something, so unnaturally I ask, “how is it going?” More so questioning if I asked the question right rather than questioning the content of the question. 244

Off in what could be considered la'la land, I stood there, spinning my pistol around as I watched the others as they went about there business, unaware of Jyn's presence in the range, that was until I heard his familiar voice as he addressed me with a simple 'yo' ahh that brought back nostalgic memories of the past. Looking to Jyn, I nod my head faintly " Hey, it's going. Taking a moment to watch these other guys take shots at the targets, you know, just chillin. What about you? " I said, looking to Jyn, my eyes glancing to the two bags he held before looking back to his face " You come back for some more practice? " I said, shooting my own question in his direction. I knew there was a chance to run into him again but I wasn't sure when it would be, it seemed the hands of fate had brought us together again for a little target practice and perhaps more friendly chit chat, I couldn't say I didn't like it, it was nice to chat it up while blowing away a few paper dummies, who knows maybe we might become friends and all that type of stuff, who knows.

Walking up to his side, my gaze shifts in line with his own as I become interested in what he was viewing. As the casual counter greeting comes in, I pause with my both hands holding a strap of either the duffle bag or the ammo bag as I answer in matching manner, “yes, practice.” Looking away from the men in the distance, back to the target of conversation, I see he notices the duffle bag. Explaining, I continue, “I brought my own shotgun to try out a bit, but I think I’m going to focus on my pistol work for the time begin. I have a large amount of ammo to use up, so I should be able to get in some good practice.” Looking back at Ingel, I notice, “it seems as you’ve already been practicing some today?” Just as the question is asked, a booth comes open as a portly male holding a rifle looks towards us then makes eye contact with me and juts his thumb behind him to his booth. I nod to him accepting the booth and then look to Ingel before motioning towards it as if to walk towards it to continue the chit chat. 202

When he makes mention of what the two bags are for I give a nod " Ah, I see. So you got a new gun huh? I'm still stuck with this. " I say, holding my pistol out and spinning it around my finger some " Nice. Yeah, pistol's are a lot easier to work with. " after speaking I look away from Jyn and back at the booths, scanning for an open one but so far one hasn't opened yet. When I hear him talk to me, I look back to him as I grab the handle of my pistol, stopping its spinning as I nod " Yeah. I been here about an hour or so. Didn't have anything else to do today so I figured I would come get a bit of practice in before night. " as I spoke I looked to Jyn so my attention was no longer on the booths and I missed the one come open, but it appeared Jyn caught sight of it. When Jyn motions to the booth, I glance over at it, pulling away from the wall " Looks like we get to share again, a partner? " I said, giving Jyn a friendly smile.

So we would be sharing once again. In effect, this would be our second date here at the City Metro Ranges. With a nod, I agree, “it looks like it.” With the agreement to use the both settled by both parties, I begin to make my way towards it, lugging the two bags with me. On reaching the booth, I set the bags down near the firing area. I unzip the bag given to me by Nigel and take out two yellow foam ear plugs and put them into the pocket of my slacks as I inquire, “how’s that job hunt coming… or where you not looking?” I have to use a louder voice due to the sound of guns going off around us, now inside the range area. The last time we spoke was a few days ago. I was still unemployed, or gainfully employed by the streets and making a profit while attempting to take down the very people I worked with. Maybe not them specifically, but categorically, yes. During the time, I had gotten a bit more comfortable with my weapon handling as well. I begin to rummage through the back separating semi automatic magazines as I listen to his response if one was given to me. 210

Giving Jyn a nod, I pull away from the wall when he starts to move for the booth, reaching down, I pick up the remaining cases of ammunition I still had before I follow after Jyn, making my way to the booth. Once at the booth, I watch Jyn as he sets his bags down and takes out some ear plugs, something along the lines of what I had, figuring it would be good if I got some, so I could save my hearing.. When the question comes, I pause for a moment, looking at him before I speak up, my voice raised as well " .. Actually, I put in and am waiting to see if the police force accepts my application. I know I have the necessary skills for the job... well beyond there standards probably, but I have... a shady past you could say, so I'm not sure if they will let me join. I figure if they don't, I can always go some where else. " As I speak I realize this is the first time I have made mention of my past or at least a hint of it, to any one since I left my past behind me to make a new life for my self.

I eject the clip that was in my pistol and count that I still had five shots in it. I slide the clip back in and set the safety as I stand up. Holding the pistol in my right hand, I make my way to the center of the firing area as I lift up one of the earplugs in my left hand. “Is that so,” I answer, “well, hopefully everything works out.” My head lowers and leans to the side as one of the earplugs is placed in my ear. I knew it would not be appropriate for me to ask any details about his past if it had shady portions to it, but it did make me wonder a bit about the person I had befriended. With my right ear still empty, I look up and nod, “if you get in, you’ll have to give me a ride around in your car. We can take down criminals together.” It is a casual joke hinting cooperation between police and vigilantes. I add, “hopefully I’ll be a much better shot by then.” I move over and press the button to load the first paper target up at the end of the range. 202

Looking away from Jyn as he ejects the magazine of his pistol, I step up and set my cases of ammunition on the counter off to the side to not be in his way before stepping back out of the shooting area, letting Jyn take the first turn. As I watch him I switch the safety of my pistol on and slip into the front of my pants, off to the side of the center point of my belt, this was something I had done back in my younger years to hold my weapon and since I had yet to get a holster for it, it only felt natural to place it there, though it might say something of my past.. " Yeah. It sounds like a sweet gig, get to drive around all day and bust some criminals. " As I finish speaking I reach into my pocket and pull out my own set of ear plugs before slipping one into my ear, keeping one out for the moment. After his comment about riding around me if I get the job I glance at him, thinking on that. The thought popped up that he could be an undercover police officer, but undercover in what if he was? Or he could simply be poking at some fun with me. When he spoke to me again I looked at him and nodded faintly " Yeah, If you keep up the practice you will surely get better, you can trust me on that one. "

The first paper target in the likeness of a humanoid shape is set up at the far end of the range and I take my position at the firing point as I listen to Ingel’s words. “Hmm,” I murmur lightly as a reply before using my left hand to place the yellow earplug into the other ear. I then set a side stance to the target and hold the pistol with both hands, now shooting properly. I hold my aim for a moment as my head tilts lightly peering past the notches to line up the shot. After a moment, when I am ready, I pull the trigger on the pistol several times and release fives shots onto the target. After the shots are let out, I lower the pistol, still holding it in both hands. I notice that three out of the five shots had hit the center of the chest with one straying to the right shoulder and the other just below it. I figure it must have something to do with the recoil and my attempt to control it; I would have to work on it a bit more. I set the safety and lower the gun as I move away from the shooting area and motion to Ingel that it was his turn with an additional, “you’re up.” I would probably never think of becoming a police officer. It seemed too much red tape would be involved for me. Even if they were able to bust criminals and such, there were probably rules and regulations to it. But if he were able to make it into the police forces, I could have an ally within the policing force, I just couldn’t be seen around him too much around those that knew the members of Vincent’s operation. 300

As Jyn began to get ready to take his shot, I slip the second ear plug into my vacant ear and await his shots. I watch as he takes his stance, holding the weapon with both hands. I wasn't expecting him to fire off that many shots, maybe one or two but it didn't matter to me or bother me, hell the man could stand and empty a whole magazine if he wanted to. When he lowered the gun, I stepped forwards and looked down range at his target, seeing where he had struck it at, I give a faint nod before I look to him as he offers me the booth " That was some good shooting. You're getting better. " I said as I slipped into the booth, reaching down to the pistol which rest in my waist band, I slip my hand around the handle of it and pull it out. Lifting the pistol up, I eject the magazine to make sure it still held a few rounds in it before sliding it back into the pistol. After reloading my pistol, I lift my arm up, this time not taking what would be considered a 'proper' stance with the weapon, today I was feeling my roots you could say, arm out stretched, pistol pointed at the target, I took aim before squeezing off a few rounds much like Jyn had done before me. Squeezing the trigger three times in rapid succession, each pull of the trigger followed by a loud boom, though the ear plugs would help to muffle the sounds. After firing the three rounds I lowered my pistol, switching the safety back on as I looked down range at the target to see how I had done. Seeing that I had gotten a chest, shoulder, and gut shot on the target I nodded faintly feeling pretty good about them. As I pulled out of the booth, shifting to my side I looked at Jyn " So what have you been up to? "

“Thanks,” I say in a soft accepting tone. I release the clip from the pistol and walk to a magazine depository and dispose of the empty clip. Moving back, I crouch at the bag of ammo and pick up a new clip, loading it into the pistol. I set the safety after loading the clip then stuff the pistol into my chest holster as I watch the shot given by Ingel. He did pretty well, and I nod, approving his shots. As he pulled out of the booth, I walk into it, pausing with his question and turning towards him. That was a hard question to answer, but I would stick to normal things. “Well, I’m still unemployed,” I shared, “but I did happen upon some work and a new acquaintance down at the Moonbucks… a waitress who seems pretty cute.” I pause having said something pretty personal just now, but I knew that oftentimes guy talk revolved around the opposite sex. “Besides that, nothing much,” I admit, “how about you?” 171

After stepping out of the booth, I moved off to the side to give him room in the booth to work with. With the answer to my question, I give a faint nod, listening as he continued before finishing. There was mention of meeting a female, ahh that's always good, well if it is the right kind... As he finishes I give a nod " I see. Sorry to hear about the job thing, maybe things will look up soon. An acquaintance at Moonbucks huh? " I said, with a light smile " I see.. Nothing to big aside from the police thing, been doing about the same as usual, ya know? " I said, looking down range for a moment " What kind of woman is she? .. I would advise against getting caught up in anything you cant handle. You seem like a good person and it would be a shame if something happened to you. I'm beginning to like our little get togethers here, ya know? " I said, looking back to Jyn.

I move on as he moves off and to the side to give me room in the booth. My gun was already locked and loaded, so all that was left now was to aim and shoot. His voice sounded a bit muffled due to the earplugs, but I could still make out what he was saying. Listening to his words, I earnestly answer, “I’m not sure yet. She’s very pretty, so you would think that a lot of people hit on her given that she is a waitress. We kind of met in an odd manner. She was kind of pushed onto me and I caught her. She’s very straightforward and seems to be a particularly strong woman…” I walk to the button to switch out the targets and press it and then wait for the targets to be switched out. “It’s not like she’s my girlfriend. I still haven’t called her yet, but maybe it will be something. Who knows?” The target’s set up is completed and I pause as I lift up the pistol and set my aim in a proper manner. Lining up the shoot, I fire twice, hitting two chest shots before lowering the pistol and looking at my shot. I give a nod and decide to stick with two shots for right now before rotating. Curious I ask, “are you in a relationship with a woman?” 231

Still watching him, I listen as he responds to one of my statements, nodding my head faintly at what he was telling me. As he finished, I gave another nod " I see. Yeah, you'd think she would be hit on left and right... She sounds pretty nice. " Falling silent as I watch Jyn I cant help to think about to when I had someone close. With his next statement I look away, back down range again at the new target " I see. Yeah. It's always nice to have someone like that. Though, if your looking for someone to spend the rest of your life with, you should make sure they are the right one for you, you know? " As I finish, I watch as Jyn takes two shots at the target, getting two good chest shots off on it. When he asked his question, I remained silent for a moment before shaking my head faintly " No. I'm afraid at this point I'm time, I am a single man, though I did have someone... " As my words trail off, a hint of sadness in them, I look to Jyn and offer him a friendly smile " If you think you two would work good together, you should go for it. "

His words make sense. But I was far from looking for someone to spend my life with. I didn’t know if I would actually put someone through that. I was a difficult person to get along with on such an intimate level. I had issues with communication, trust and cynicism at times, and for those times when I was in my moods, it would really take a strong person to put up with me and not go their own way. Instead of voicing that, I simply agree internally with his sediments. From the sound of his voice when he spoke about the person that he did have, it signaled me not to go any deeper in my questioning. I simply leave it at that answering to his final words as I make my way out of the shooting booth. “We’ll see where it goes, it’s much to early to know anything,” I admit. Making sure the safety on the pistol was set, I return it to the chest holster and cross my arms looking out into the ranges. Out of the blue, I ask, “what portion of the city, do you reside in?” Maybe it would be another conversation point. 200

When Jyn pulls out of the booth, I pause for a moment and look to him " Yeah. If you play your cards right you might get lucky. But only time will tell. " I said before slipping into the booth. Once in the booth, I reach over and press the button to get a new target. When I hear his words I give a faint nod " I live in the lower commons. It's been my home for as long as I can remember. I was raised there... Sure, I could leave and at point, I was going to, but things change. " I pause for a brief moment as I look at the new target " What about you? I don't believe I've ever seen you around the commons. " Looking back at Jyn for a moment I turn my attention back to the target down range. Bringing my pistol up, I spin it around my pointer finger for a moment before grasping the handle of it, flicking the safety off as I bring it up, gripping the weapon in both hands this time " How about... a head shot? " I said as I took aim at the target, lining up my shot, pausing a moment before I squeeze the trigger, firing a single round from my pistol, striking the target in the chin area, my aim a little off, seeing my aim was off I let out a light sigh " .... Didn't hit my mark but he would be feeling that.. "

I’m a bit surprised when he admits that he was from the lower commons. He looked a bit too well put together to be from such a crime-oriented area. That was the stomping grounds of many a gang and one of the locations that those I were affiliated sold their merchandise. Though, every section of the city was rather large to the point where they each could be considered a small town of themselves, I did find it a bit unnerving that I could be doing illegal things in such proximity to someone I knew like this. It could easily be seen as a misunderstanding. With a nod, I answer, “I see.” I answer him, “I live in Gothstone. I moved there shortly after moving out of my parent’s house and have remained there since, though I have been to the Commons on occasion.” With the shot, I notice his aim was pretty good for such a small area compared to the torso. “Yeah,” I agree, “good nonetheless.” There is a short pause before I ask, “have you ever had to shoot at a person before?” My voice had gone from its friendly tone to a more empty and serious tone with the question. I knew that he was not a officer, at least not yet, so there would only be a few certain circumstances where he would have to fire upon another human. 234

After taking my shot, I pull one hand away from my pistol, switching the safety back on as I lower my hand holding it. Standing there with my back to him, I look down at the target, mentally scolding my self for not hitting my intended target, though I knew a shot like that would be almost as effective as a dead on head shot. As he answers me, I give a faint nod " Ah, Gothstone huh, pretty nice place? " I said, shifting to move out of the booth. When he comments on my shot, I give a nod as I step out of the way letting him step into the booth to take a shot. With his question, I look at him for a moment, his tone of voice had changed to a more serious one when he asked me. I give a faint nod, looking to him " Yes, I have had to shoot someone before. " my answer was in a tone just as serious as his question, I decided on a simple answer, leaving out the details about how many I had killed before, if he wanted to know he would ask about it and I would be willing to tell him, thou something like that isn't something you just walk up and tell some random man on the street, but at this point I didn't considered Jyn a random man on the street, he was more on his way to being a friend then just some random person.

“I see,” is my response to him. I had no intentions of prying anymore into that matter. He hadn’t asked me if I killed anyone, so I wouldn’t need to divulge that type of information, but it did clarify the type of shots he took. I noticed something about him when he shot at a target. It seemed as if the target was personified each time instead of being a simple piece of paper. My original theory was that it was the mindset of someone who kills on a regular basis, since I seemed to be undergoing a metamorphosis leading in that direction. It gave a new value to the target when you were shooting at it that people who shoot purely for recreation would not get. With this, I think I was beginning to understand him a bit more. His tone had been serious and to the point with his answer. There was no shying away from it, or using awkward playfulness to skirt the issue. I keep these things in mind as I build an internal character of the person. Stepping into the booth, the pistol is pulled from its holster, the safety is clicked off and I set up my shot as normal lining it up and aiming for the head. I fire off the first shot and pause. The bullet rips through the outer ear of the target. I adjust my aim and then shoot again striking the left temple of the forehead. Not to bad for me. I lower the gun and set the safety. I walk back to the side of the booth. Suddenly, I comment, “If she has a sister or a friend, I will mention you. How is that?” That was a guy thing that friends did on a regular basis, right? 300

With my answer, the matter had been dropped, for now I guess Jyn decided not to pry any further into the details of my back ground, that in its self felt some what reassuring but I also felt that he might need to know some time down the road as we become closer friends, perhaps I should take the first step and tell him, but I wasn't sure of that yet... I bring my attention back to Jyn as he steps into the booth and gets ready to take his shot. As he lowered his gun, I stepped forwards and looked at the target he had shot, seeing he did a lot better then me, hitting the target in the head when I was unable to. His comment caught me a bit off guard and I renamed silent for a moment before looking back at him, smiling faintly as I nod " .. Alright, that sounds good. " I pause for a moment before I speak up " How about I show you some fancy shooting. Let me see your pistol, promise to return it after I'm done. " I said, with the last part, I added a little joking tone in there to try and liven up the mood. After asking I hold my free hand out, waiting to see if he would allow me a moment with his pistol, though I was fine if he didn't I know a man and there firearms can share a special relationship, some going as far as to name there weapons..

Well, that was that, and the comment seemed to be well accepted. It was as if he was asking to hold a piece of me. I had bonded with that pistol; no other could take its place. But I knew it was a harmless gesture; so with only a small amount of hesitation, the gun is flipped over my finger and handed to him, butt facing him. Come to think of it, I probably should name my weapon. Something menacing, like Tiny. Either way, my hand releases the gun if he were to accept it and I would simply wait to see what type of tricks he had up his sleeves. Perhaps this would be a moment for me to learn something from him since he seemed to be my senior when it came to gun wielding and such. I had the basics down of shooting from a standing position, but anything deviating from that, I had not worked on. In my thoughts, I figured he was about to do something I would see in an old western or at a theme park or shooting competition, such as shooting a quarter twice with two shots with two pistols or something. 200

When Jyn offers me his pistol, I reach out and take it, gripping the butt of the weapon as I pull it back, treating it much as I would my own weapon, with care and a delicate touch. After taking the weapon from Jyn, I spin it around my finger much as I had done with my pistol. After spinning it a few times I catch the butt and set the weapon, along with mine, on the counter before I reach back and take a hold of my coat and pull it back, taking the thing off, having it on really didn't effect me, it was like a second skin you could say, though I felt like taking it off, after taking my coat off, I set it off to the side, now that my full length coat was off, Jyn would see the tight fitting black short-sleeved shirt I wore along with the tattoos that came down below the sleeves, stretching down my upper arms, the tattoos black, tribal designs, he would also see the necklace around my neck, a simple string which held two rings, one gold and one silver. After setting my coat down, I pick up the two pistols and glance over at Jyn before looking back down range " Alright, I haven't done this in a while so I may be a bit rusty, try not to laugh? " I said, bringing my arms up, aiming both pistols down range at a target, taking a moment to see what his response would be.

I watch as my gun is wielded and set aside. After the removal of the coat I notice the large tattoo that ran alongside his arm. It looks something much like members of the yakuza used to wear back in the samurai days. This was giving me mixed signals since he spoke against organized crime, but still resembled a thug in various aspects. I must have been thrown off a bit by his initial look, but then again, they say that you cannot judge a book by his cover. Thus far, his character was all that seemed certain about him. When the warning comes, I nod, partially anxious to see what he would be performing. I knew I didn’t come off as the type to openly laugh about anything, so I assumed it was a joke of some sort. From all indications, it would be a dual wielding technique. I wait and see what he would do. 157

Though I did not get a verbal answer from him, he still gave me a nod to my last statement, though I wouldn't blame him if he did crack up, I hadn't done this in a while now and knew I would be rusty at it... So I decided to start with something simple, aiming and shooting in a standard fashion before maybe moving onto some more fancy stuff... As I looked down range at the targets, I took in a deep breath, focusing on the targets as I held it in for a moment before exhaling. Seconds after exhaling I begin to fire, at first not firing the two guns at the same time, though after the second shot from each of the guns, forth all together, I began to fire them both at the same time, squeezing off two more rounds with each of the pistols before I stopped and looked down at my handy work. When I seen that I only managed to hit the target in the chest with three bullets I signed lightly " Ehh, see, rusty still. " I say, glancing to Jyn for a moment before I turn back to the target " Have you ever tried this before? Wielding two pistols at once, firing them together or one after the other? "

The shots fire off and I watch the target down range as three bullets rip their way through the chest of the target. That wasn’t too bad. For someone like me who was only skilled at shooting with one hand, I could understand the difficulty required to shoot two pistols at the same target at the same time. There would be no lining up the shot; it would have to be more so felt than anything else. It was a notch above my normal pistol shooting. After it is done and he looks to me with his question, my head shakes slightly as I admit, “no, I haven’t done anything other than shoot a pistol normally.” When it came down to it, my job simply required for me to put a bullet in my target, and I did that the easiest way possible. However, I could see the application of using two guns, for instance in a large shootout where having twice the number of bullets would be better than trying to reload after every eight shots. I would have to give it a try, though it may prove to be embarrassing if I try for the first time now and miss all shots. “Very, nice,” I congratulate the shots.

" Ah, that's where I started too but some times, you just need more firepower then one pistol can offer.. " I say as I glace down range at the targets again " It takes a lot of practice, but it can be done, as you can see, and even right now, I am rusty... " as I speak, I switch the safety back on both pistols and spin the one that belongs to Jyn around, gripping the barrel of it and offering it back to him as he congratulates me on my shots " If you wish to learn, I would suggest not starting with firing both at the same time, fire them one after the other and even before that, do a little warm up with your off hand to help get use to the recoil with that arm as well, and when you feel like you can do it, you can move onto firing both at the same time and maybe even throw in a little trick or two to make it look fancy and stylish, like you see in the movies, you know? "

With a nod, I state my understanding simply, “I see.” I take the end of the gun as it is offered to me and move it into my holster, securing it in place. I begin to make my way to the bag with the ammo and the shotgun. I crouch at it and begin to pack it back up. “I’ll give it a try a little later,” I assure, “but after watching you, I think I’ll have some confidence in attempting it. I’m sure it will take a lot of practice for me.” Time had passed by and now that I’ve shot my load off with Ingel a few times it was time to move on with the day and other things. “Thank you for the lesson. I think I’ll that’s enough for me for today. I have some things I need to take care of before it starts to get late,” I say as I pull the ammo bag over my shoulder while situating the duffel bag before I stood, “so I’ll take my leave now. I suppose I’ll see you around the ranges later in the coming days.” 190

After giving Jyn his gun back, I reached over and set my gun down before picking my coat up and began to put it back on as I glanced over at Jyn as he made his way over to his bags, at first I thought he was changing weapons before continuing. " That's good, confidence is always something good to have when you practice, you don't want to get bummed out, that's when you start doubting your self and stop.. " After slipping my coat on fully I picked my pistol back up, tucking my arms behind my coat, I slipped it into the back of my waist band as Jyn started to speak to me, ah, he wasn't changing weapons it was time for him to head out, well the same could be said about me but I didn't mind staying and shooting some more, criminals were always out and about... Nodding faintly I move over to Jyn and offer him a hand " Alright. Yeah, sounds like a plan. Ill catch ya later. "
